It is now official that LFC has just signed a four-year shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered worth £80M over four years. For the second match in a row, Chelsea came back from a goal down to winning a match effectively in their outing at Sunderland. Winning 1-3 after Sunderland had scored to go ahead in the match was surely a second present for Carlo Ancelotti.

Ray Wilkins seems a nice sort of bloke. He had a hugely successful career for club and country, and had spells playing abroad in France and Italy, away from the hustle and bustle of the English Leagues. He has since chiselled out a successful career as a coach at Chelsea.

So he is not the sort of person you would expect to go and criticise another European league.

As everyone's probably already heard, Fabio Grosso went down in the 18th min of Italy's 2-1 win over Cyprus. Fabio left the game with an injury to his flank. The diagnosis is two fractured ribs. It's believed he will be out of the Lyon line-up for at least one month. That amounts to Grosso missing at least (6) matches.
