The Sin: Pride is often called the "ultimate sin" because it leads to so many
of the other sins. According to Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goeth before destruction". It's true, too. I
define "pride" as the unwillingness to view one's own abilities objectively, or to put it bluntly
insincere self-respect.

It's a lovely fall day here at Fullback World Headquarters, so let's take a few moments to enjoy

members and other Americans outsourced to Europe. Janusz mentions twice that he thinks that Deuce
puts in his best performances for his club instead of his country. Hunh.
He also mentions Eddie Johnson.

Like finding out on Christmas Eve that your parents
did buy you that awesome present you
wanted, ESPN has announced on the eve of the English Premier League season that EPL games will
indeed be shown in the U.S. EPL Talk has the late-breaking story of tomorrow's opening day
broadcast of Chelsea and Hull City on the deuce.

A quick thanks to Michael and the spectacular job he does on this blog. Â He's been busy this
past week, so you'll have to excuse the lack of posts. Â Moving and then traveling from your new
home all within a four day span doesn't leave a lot of time to blog. Â Lucky for him it was a
pretty slow week for USMNT news.

In the spirit of DC United recently, I'll be saving myself for more important articles in the
future by doubling up my previews for the next two matches so I can take this weekend off. It's
really a good time for rest too, as the previews are pretty simple affairs to break down. DC will
get hammered in Houston and drop the deuce in San Salvador three days later.

Welcome to the latest installment of Your Questions Answered, where I field questions, take
weeks to answer them, and then crank out some intriguing responses to get you talking and thinking
that I'm either a soccer genius, or an idiot.
Yes, it once again took me a month to get to the Q&A, but given how busy the last month has been
for the national team you might understand my issue.

It pains me to say it, but Chelsea Offside has joined the so-called Twitter "revolution."
I, for one, despise the service. Do I really need to know when Ashton Kutcher is dropping a
deuce? I think not.
Still, I think it may expose what we do here to a few more people as well as making it perhaps a
little easier for those who have been following Chelsea Offside to keep up with updates.

The Core: Who was at their best at the 2009 Confederation Cup and seems assured
of a starting role come 2010?
Well, LD earned his #10 jersey by validating his skill against some of the world's most feared
defenders. Tim Howard's box scores didn't look appealing, but those who saw the games knew for
every one he allowed, he stopped four rockets off the feet/heads of some of the globe's greatest
playmakers.

Day two of the European transfer window, and the rumors are at a fever pitch. Our man Deuce is now
the subject of rampant speculation, with Dempsey linked to Everton in the English rags. But

I haven't done this in a while, but soccer news has been slow. Check out these recent Google
searches that brought people to my blog.
I've added some editorial comments in italics. Fun times:
- "brad evans have a girlfriend" (not sure, next time add a '?')
- "teens gone wild video" (sorry my blog didn't help you out)
- "ronaldo dinosaur" (nice ad)
- "clint dempsey" (deuce is popular, rightfully so)
- "fifa 08 how to get be a pro season" (can't understand that one)
- "soccer moms gone wild" (probably didn't help again)
- "Kovax Brothers Wine" (I should get some free bottles, only fair)
- "michael owen galatasaray" (do they know something we don't)
- "games with totti" (what kind of games?

This is the photo that I remember Clint Dempsey when he was just starting out his National Team
career. I remember him scoring that goal against Ghana to level the match at one. The fire, the
passion and the glory of making it to the biggest stage of International Football. We all knew back
in his day with the New England Revolution that he wanted to leave MLS and perform in Europe and he
got his shot with Fulham of the English Premiership.

This is what I have been screaming about for a good while now. It's not just tactics, formations
and who's favorite players get to start the match all of the time. It's about showing your pride
for playing World Class Football against some of the top nations and showing your pride in the
shield on the shirt as well as the flag for your country.

Soccer in the United States, a growing majority. I am still fascinated with the number of people
drinking the USSF kool aid, and handing over their money.
SUM is doing the Super Liga again, a mini tournament between Mexico and MLS. The lesser rans of

is awesome, then you should be good.

Here's a promo shot for Fulham FC's new Nike home kit for the 09/10 season. As you can see (you may
have to squint), there are three player's shirts on show in the imaginary Nike dressing room: Andy
Johnson, Danny Murphy and the best damned No.23 in the Premier League, aka Deuce Dempsey.

If you have found yourself thinking, "You know, it's been forever since SBI had a Q&A" you are
absolutely right. The craziness of the past few months, coupled with the size of the last batch of
questions, led to almost half of the questions not being answered.
I didn't forget about them.

Clinton "Deuce" Dempsey joined Fulham in January 2007 from MLS New England Revolution for
$4million. Dempsey's dream of playing in Europe was achieved. Fulham was the ideal club at the time
for an American trying to find his way in Premier League waters. Brian McBride and Carlos Bocanegra
had made Fulham their home.

Why anyone would let a New England fan into the RSL locker room for this commercial I don't know.
But you kinda can't blame her for wanting to drop a deuce in one of their lockers after they
dropped 6 on the Revs on Saturday. You know what they say, "Revenge is a dish best served in
plastic training potty".

Briefing: Agent Clint Dempsey (aka "MC Deuce") is one of the MNT's top
international agents. He is a versatile player who can either play on the wing or in the middle,
and he has recently become one of the MNT's fixtures on the attack. His talent has only been
expanding as of late, and the MNT will need him to continue to rise to the challenge of 2010.

The lone American goal scorer from World Cup 2006 now has consistently played so poorly for the
national team if the opponent is not Barbados, that his presence seems to actually help stagnate
the side. Dempsey's last good performance for the National Team against a decent opponent was last
October in Switzerland.

Found this over on TOR and thought it was worth a post.
I especially liked Deuce's contrast between playing in Europe vs. playing away in CONCACAF. Clearly
there's more to it as those on the receiving end of racist taunts in parts of Europe could attest.
