After much posturing, debate and media assumptions it seems David Beckham has made the decision not
to move to Paris-St. Germain for 2012. The club's sporting direct Leonardo has told the media that
the club's pursuit of the star is "finished".
Leonardo was the manager of AC Milan during Beckham's loan there in 2010.
Jay Heaps has a tough job. The former player turned coach is now in the process of righting the
ship that's lost its way in New England. A lot has been made of the Revolution's choice to hire
Heaps, whether it's support for someone who knows the organization or criticism at his lack of
experience.
Molded by some of the best coaches in all of sports, he has some fantastic experiences to draw on.
A quick thought to kick off the work week. Top of the list is Shalrie Joseph. The captain of the
New England Revolution is returning to the Revs in 2012. The 33 year old inked a new deal with
Revolution president Brian Bilello under new head coach Jay Heaps. After months of speculation we
now know that Joseph will not depart the team.
By Andrew Villegas Take a second to look at the up-to-the-moment playoff standings for MLS. What
strikes you? If you're anything like most people, it's that the New York Red Bulls – is it wrong
that I automatically think to add "machine" to the end of NYRB whenever I refer to them? – find
themselves teetering precariously [.

This week brought about a plethora of talking points. The new Designated Player rules for 2012 and
what that might mean for the league's future, the impending arrival of Robbie Keane and of course
what that means for Juan Pablo Angel. Both the Sounders and the Galaxy made statements in the
CONCACAF Champion's League as well.

Just as the summer transfer window closed with the news of Robbie Keane signing with the LA
Galaxy, MLS has decided to set a press conference for tomorrow to make some changes to their

The Los Angeles Galaxy have reportedly agreed to purchase Robbie Keane's contract from Tottenham
for a reported £3 million, but the signing is not yet official. The summer transfer window closed
on Sunday at 11:59 p.m., but Galaxy president Tom Payne said on Twitter that an announcement may
come on Monday.
Recently I tweeted out asking what you think is wrong with MLS. I got a plethora of responses. Some
were well thought out and some simply ranted and moaned without being realistic. I thought I'd
address some of the more thought out ones. Number one on my list was a follow up to my previous
thoughts on Jurgen Klinsmann.
Hate is a four-letter word and I shouldn't use it. I also shouldn't hold grudges as I'm attempting
to be a grown up as of late. But Torsten Frings....breath SF. I guess if I got over Rafa being in
MLS I can get over this guy. Maybe.
Chicago, IL With less than two months to go until the Fire kick off their 2011 MLS campaign,
the Fire's front office has expanded its search to the internet in order to replenish its badly
depleted roster.
Fire honcho Frank Klopas launched an exhaustive scouting search of Chicagoland parks (from
"Highland to Tinley") this off season, but after several months he had nothing to show for it
except frost bite and syringes of dubious origin.
For the last month and a half the LA Galaxy have been trying to sign one of their Re-Entry Draft
selections, striker Juan Pablo Angel. Today they finally came to terms with the Colombian strikers
by signing him to a multi-year deal.
Angel will become the club's third Designated Player behind David Beckham and Landon
Donovan.
