DES MOINES, Iowa. – The 19th-ranked Missouri State men's soccer team (12-4-2) dropped a 2-1
decision in overtime to fourth-seed Evansville (12-7-1) at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines,
Iowa, this afternoon.
Missouri State weathered a fierce attack from Evansville in the first half. The Purple Aces
generated 11 shots and forced Alex Riggs to make seven saves in the half.

I should have posted this last week...Sterling Copeland #22 scored for the Menace in the 20th
minute.The Menace and the Brass traded chances throughout the game with Des Moines having a little
better of the play.But in the last minute Brass #9 Giovanni "Ed" Edward's hustle allowed him to put
a rebound past the Menace keeper.

With April showers comes the start of Midwest Regional League (MRL) play for the 2-time
defending state Champion Springfield SC U18 boys squad. The boys will face three familiar foes this
weekend in St Louis, and I hope to see one or more of the games while also enjoying Easter weekend
with Mom.
Sockers FC Chicago U18 (IL) - 0
Springfield SC 90/91 (MO) - 3
Sunday saw the third straight shut-out for SSC as they defeated the Sockers through the air, on a
fine run and finish (pictured above) and from the penalty spot.
