On this week's predictions we feature the big derby matches in the FA Cup 4th Round, as well as
some more games from the Africa Cup of Nations. You
All eyes will be on the famed Giuseppe Meazza this weekend as Inter take on Milan in the Derby
della Madonnina. While the atmosphere of derbies in the past have been heightened by the on field
personalities, the latest edition of the Milan derby will certainly be white hot due to the
psychological warfare that has been waged by both clubs.
Angelina-Jen: A Derby for the Ages I'm staunchly opposed to the Americanization of football. I
don't want overtime, shootouts, substitutions on the fly, bigger goals or shorter fields. I don't
want instant replay, playoffs or field turf.
There's a lot of don'ts and won'ts in there. There are also exceptions to every rule.
On this week's podcast, Damian looks forward to the exciting climax in the Brazilian championship
with a host of derbies and the title in the balance.
On this week's predictions we feature the final games in the Brazilian Championship - a set of
fixtures that includes some of the biggest derbies in the continent. Top-of-the-table clashes from
the Premier League and Germany as well as two vital games from the Champions League complete this
week's predictions
The Belgrade derby has some, shall we say, "behavioral issues" which require constant
considerations. How best to combat a problem of lighting the stands on fire whilst also throwing
Molotov seat cocktails?
Remove the damn seats.
Good in theory, questionable in its successful application.

Some cracking games this week from around Europe, including two of the biggest rivalries around -
one from Germany and one from France.
This weekend's fixtures look like a pretty sedate set on the face of it. Leeds' terrestrially
televised trip across the shires to meet Burnley and what may be the most pathetic grudge in
history, Saints versus Seagulls, are worth keeping on the radar perhaps, but otherwise I can't help
but be drawn down the leagues to the two derbies west of Bristol.
The fans on the Fulham message boards are generally not confident about this one. Both teams had a
mid week Europa game, Fulham won, and Spurs lost, but Fulham played their full team, whilst ours
stayed home in the warm. They think that this, plus the fact that Modric and Parker are dominating
teams at the moment will see Fulham defeated.
When the fixture list gets released for each season, there are some games that are surrounded by
neon lights, arrows and confetti; glamour games whose dates your eyes turn to like homing pigeons,
games that you build your normal, non-footballing schedule around to make sure you watch them come
whatever form of deluge, locust swarm or vile microelectronics exam.
The pairings for the third round of the German Cup were set over the weekend, setting up heated
local derbies for both Schalke's Jermaine Jones and Nurnberg defender Timothy Chandler.
What a great month! October has produced four wins, one draw and ten goals. I've picked out the
best ones below for your selection.Vote box below.
VDV v Arsenal - Defoe ran at the heart of the Arsenal defence and laid wide to Adebayor
whose cross was chested down and volleyed home by Van der Vaart.
Sexy Sexy Football from Spurs. In the first half at least Spurs were sexy, QPR were crap. Second
half was more hit and miss, hanging on stuff mixed with the sexy football. But at the end of the
day. QPR we're woeful enough and we were sexy enough for us to get the win. We're now unbeaten in
17 home premier league London derbies.
Adam takes the penalty...Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll sent
Liverpool to a 2-0 win on Saturday at the Hawthorns. A penalty decision for the Reds got them under
way and a goal just before half time ensured the three points.
West Brom were pretty absent throughout the 90 minutes and for a side who have been in great form
of late after winning two local derbies, they certainly didn't have much to show for it.

It's another weekend of derbies in the Premier League — everything from Chelsea against Arsenal
to Spurs versus QPR. While we're not expecting another 6-1 result, Jesse Chula and The Gaffer

After an October that's seen marauding Manchester City take hold of top spot, what does November
hold for the Premier League?
October's been a month full of derbies, from Merseyside to Midlands to Manchester, and it'll be
hard for any month this season to top all that's been packed into October.
A depressing Derby...for one man...
TSG's Eric Giardini recounts the horrors of Sunday's Roma-Lazio
Derby
Heading into Sunday afternoon's Derby della Capitale I had every intention of writing an
unbiased review of one of the most hotly contested derbies in world soccer.
Liverpool 1-1 Manchester United | Premier League match report
This was the strangest of North West derbies, though Sir Alex Ferguson selected a starting
line-up that was barely recognisable as Manchester United, with Phil Jones in midfield and Danny
Welbeck on his own up front.
In The Fan In You (TFIY) series, TSG explores how a fan became fanatical about their
favorite team. We're nowhere near derby time which makes this piece by Ronan Quinn not reduced to
noise in a sea of...vile.
Early roots...Newcastle vs. Sunderland
Watching Manchester United and Manchester City battle it out at the top for the first time has
given the derby games between the two a new dimension.
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness played in his fair share of Merseyside derbies during his time at
Anfield, but the club's European Cup winning captain believes the Manchester United has always been
the bigger game.In an radio interview earlier today, Souness argued:"It's not Man City-Man United
that's the important derby; It's not Liverpool-Everton; Certainly, when I was a player, we saw Man
Thank goodness that international crap is over for a while and we can get back to what we like
best, club football. Of course, the match that everybody is looking forward to this weekend is
Saturday's Liverpool – Manchester United matchup. Manyoo has been on a roll recently and will
look to keep that up at Anfield.
Jamie Carragher has seen it all before as he prepares to celebrate his 677th Liverpool appearance
– against the old enemy Manchester United on Saturday.
And despite past bitter clashes Carragher doesn't see the eagerly anticipated game as the Kop
calendar's most explosive.
That's despite flashpoints such as his tackle on Nani last season which sparked some ugly scenes.
In this week's review section, we look back at stories from the North London and Merseyside
derbies.
Richard and Ginge return with lots of great stories to discuss. Two big derbies in England,
massive games in Italy, footballers burning down houses and getting arrested...and David de Gea
caught stealing a Krispy Kreme. We promised you the soap opera of European football and this week
we deliver. CSRN MEDIA PLAYER
"The bitterest pill is mine to take, if I took it for a hundred years I couldn't feel any more
hate," so Paul Weller once crooned. As far as shit sandwiches go, chowing down on defeat to the
doyens of delusion at the other end of the Seven Sisters Road takes the shitty biscuit. That said,
having already absorbed defeats to Liverpool and Manchester United already this season, our hides
will have been tanned well enough already by our contemporaries in our workplaces, schools and
colleges etc.
Wayne Rooney's goal scoring form has been on top level in this early part of the season, scoring
nine goals in Manchester United's first seven matches before that record got halted because of his
injury.
This kind of performances simply encouraged United's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, into believing
that Rooney could eventually break the club's goal scoring record, which currently being held by
Sir Booby Charlton.

Early in the season it's difficult for players to work themselves into sufficient frenzy to rip
their shirts off and run around the pitch in merriment. Not so much at stake, y'see.
But fortunately for ab connossieurs like our good selves, trauma and disappointment also evoke a
need to bury noses in polyester.
Released from the stifling burden of his defensive responsibilities, Kyle Walker moves
purposefully onto a loose ball. He's spent a good while with his back to the wall, unable to shake
free of the relentless pressure coming his way as our north London rivals dominate. Walker's known
primarily for his pace but he's a fine footballer too, so it's a touch then head down, eyes on the
ball, it flies low and on target.
So, a lot has happened since my last post, and not much of it was good.
Before talking briefly about today's match, Ill mention the other two we played this week, even
though Id much rather not.
So, PAOK-AEK in Toumba. Of all the derbies we play each season, the PAOK one rarely gives as
much trouble as others.
Good morning from a country reveling in the joy of Gandhi Jayanti (I hear a collective grumble
of ‘fucking dry day' go through my college wing). In a stark removal from all the non-violence,
Arsenal are polishing their shields, sharpening their swords and heading off to the Mordor side of
North London to do battle with a motley collection of chimps, clowns and Tom Huddlestone
masquerading as a football club.
Sagna will have to come up against an escapee from the zoo today
Every time the fixture list is released each season, just like Thierry Henry once did, I look to
see when the North London derbies are. Who are the opponent prior to this game, just to see if it
will hamper our chances. Such is the importance of today's game.
After a mini revival of sorts, a real challenge awaits. It's the first time since I have been
watching Arsenal that the Gunners are not clearly superior going into the NLD. To be fair, Redknapp
has assembled a strong group that is there or thereabouts as far as the top four is concerned. With
the summer that Arsenal have had, coupled with the current injuries, Arsenals' away form, and the
appointment of Dean as the ref, it's no surprise that the Tiny Totts are actually favourites
according to the pundits and bookies.
Carroll, Suarez and Kuyt to start for the Reds in the derby
A FRESH autumn morning will make way for some Indian summer sun in Liverpool today as the city
makes the most of the unexpected heatwave. Not that heat would have been completely unexpected in
L4 today – it's derby day, the 185th time The Reds have met The Blues in the league and a time
where friendships and family ties are tested to their limits.
David Moyes: Liverpool have spent considerably more money than Everton
• Kenny Dalglish's net spend of £110.7m dwarfs Moyes's • Manager fears Everton may never
match rivals financially As David Moyes prepared for his 21st Merseyside derby he said it was now a
contest sharply divided by money.
Everton v Liverpool: six of the best Merseyside derbies under Kenny
Dalglish!

Vedran was reasonably certain he knew the Croatian for 'unmentionables'By the time Arsenal came to
White Hart Lane for the return game, the buoyancy surrounding Spurs' season was starting to
dissipate. A succession of agonisingly frustrating draws against bottom half sides had unravelled
the chase for a second successive fourth place finish and where Spurs were floundering, Man City
weren't.
