This article titled "Euro 2012: Holland were too arrogant, says Denmark's Christian Eriksen" was
written by Marcus Christenson, for guardian.co.uk on Monday 18th June 2012 12.10 UTC
The Denmark and Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen has suggested that Holland were eliminated
from the group stage of Euro 2012 because of "arrogance".
Rather than bombard you all with information I thought I'd split the Euro 2012 squad analysis
into two parts. I'll try and concentrate more on the players than the squads in this section.

England's Ashley Cole with 93 caps is the most capped player at Euro 2012 who is yet to score a
goal for his country.
The sixteen nations have now named their twenty-three man squads for Euro 2012. Three hundred
and sixty-eight players will travel to the tournament in Poland & Ukraine, some experienced, some
young, some with over hundred caps, some with none or very few.
The following table shows a list of Euro 2012 countries, the total number of caps in their
squad, the average caps per player, the number of international goals scored by the squad, the
average number of goals scored per player and finally the average goals per cap scored.
OTP gives you the lowdown on all the Euro 2012 teams. 10 word description: Good side find
themselves made outsiders thanks to terrible draw. Coach: Morten Olsen Olsen is a true institution
of Denmark's national setup. One of the greatest Danish players of all time, he's been in charge of
the national team since 2000.
Spectacular air kick The problem with being as quick as Dennis Rommedahl is that you always assume
that you are faster than the ball. But sometimes that pesky ball just gets the better of you and
runs away. That's exactly what happened when Denmark and Norway met this week. Cue a hilarious
crossing fail from [.
Two teams, one spot. For the first time this World Cup, two teams will play one another with the
result of the game and that game alone deciding life and death.
Japan will be the happier of the two going in, with a stingy defensive performance against the
Dutch, the only blemish yet another goalkeeping error.
Match Review: Cameroon 1 Denmark 2 is a post from: Just Football
Both these sides came into this match needing victories. Denmark had perhaps been unlucky to
lose 2-0 to a Dutch side who were noticeably off the boil. Contrastingly, Cameroon had not been
nearly potent enough to fend off Japan, who beat them 1-0 thanks to Keisuke Honda's first half
goal.
Samuel Eto'o was restored to his customary centreforward position. Imposing midfielder, Alex Song
was back in the Lions' midfield. Geremi as well was reinstated into the starting lineup. Paul Le
Guen acquiesced to player pressure and went back to a more comfortable lineup.
Cameroon were rewarded when Poulsen's defensive error allowed Eto'o to open his account in South
Africa.
1. We can safely stand by our earlier conclusion that Cameroon are not Africa's great hope at this
World Cup. 2. The awful defending, end-to-end football and exciting action was the perfect antidote
to some of the drab games we have seen over the last couple of days. 3. It was a bittersweet
afternoon for Christian Poulsen.
... At times today, Cameroon were so damn fun to watch. Attacking in waves, with speed, they gave
the impression of being an attacking side that was going to be too much for Denmark to handle.
Ghana, meanwhile, appeared to be on top of things having drawn level vs. Australia, and playing up
a man.
But in the end, their shooting compared better to A-Team characters than soccer players.
Dennis Rommedahl helped Denmark come from behind to beat Cameroon 2-1
Cameroon became the first team eliminated from the FIFA World Cup as they went down to a 2-1
defeat to Denmark and, thus, remain pointless after two group matches. Even if Cameroon were to win
their third group match against the Netherlands on Thursday their inferior head-to-head record
against the other two teams would render them unable to gain the second spot in Group E.
Denmark Lineup (4-2-3-1): Stephan Andersen; Simon Poulsen, Daniel Agger, Simon Kjaer, Lars
Jacobsen; Niki Zimling, William Kvist; Michael Krohn-Delhi, Christian Eriksen, Dennis Rommedahl;
Nicklas Bendtner
Portugal Lineup (4-3-3): Rui Patricio; Fabio Coentrao, Bruno Alves, Pepe, Joao Pereira; Miguel
Veloso, Joao Moutinho, Raul Meireles; Cristiano Ronaldo, Helder Postiga, Nani

Denmark where handed a tough group for Euro 2012 In December being put in with Holland, Portugal
and Germany. Preparations for Euro 12 start tomorrow for The Danes as the majority of the squad are
called to train for 3 days in Elsinore Although Denmark are a footballing country on the rise and
play some good football they can give anyone a game on their day with attacking options such as
featured player Nicklas Bendtner also Christian Eriksen, Dennis Rommedahl and Krohn-Dehli they must
be taken seriously.
N.B-52 will be starting in Denmark's vitally important clash with Cyprus on Friday evening @ the
GSP Stadium in Nicosia @ 19.30PM. The Dane's then face Portugal in Parken @ 19:15, Copenhagen
next Tuesday evening. Denmark will be missing key players such as talented attacking Ajax full
back N.
Denmark seem to be a footballing nation on the rise, with a stylish possesion/technique playing
style, If things continue from there last two visits to away grounds at Iceland and Scotland, where
in both matches they dominated long spells of the game, they could well be on their way to
qualifiying for the Euro 2012 which will take part in Poland and Ukraine.
Danish Striker Nicklas Bendtner has been included in the Denmark squad that will travel to Oslo,
Norway in a hope of a vital three points towards the contribution of qualifiying for the European
Championships in 2012.
Bendtner is very much one of the stars of the Danish side and has hit 12 goals for his country
in 36 games.
Half-time substitute Ashley Young was England's match-winner in an entertaining friendly with
Denmark.
In what was a lively opening in Copenhagen, Nicklas Bendtner shot wide for the hosts and Wayne
Rooney had an effort blocked on the line by Mathias Jorgensen before Daniel Agger opened scoring
after seven minutes, when her headed in Christian Eriksen's right-wing cross.
I caught the second half of the Denmark Iceland game... Thomas Kahlenberg fired in a late winner
via a deflection in stoppage time to send Danish fans into raptures, in much off the game Denmark
played with alot of the ball but didn't really look like breaking down the Iceland mean
defence.

Denmark may have got the three points that put their World Cup campaign back on track, but defender
Daniel Agger felt that was one of the few positives his side could take from their 2-1 victory over
Cameroon.
With both sides having lost their opening Group E games, Denmark and Cameroon each knew they needed
to get something out of Saturday night's clash in Pretoria.

With the group stage of World Cup 2010 over, we have to say goodbye to 16 of the 32 teams.
That's 368 players whose World Cup adventure is finished just two weeks after it began. Which is a
shame, because some of those players deserve to stay and play in South Africa, and some of the
surviving 16 teams could use their services.
Nicklas Bendtner has been included in Denmark's international selection for the first time since
the World Cup in the summer. Morten Olsen's select will face The Czech's in an interesting friendly
next Wednesday.
Bendtner missed a couple of European Qualifiers due to the ongoing groin problem but it has now
cleared, and he has been in action for The Gunners for a fortnight now scoring twice so far,
against Manchester City & Newcastle Utd respectively.
A match so good even Peter Drury couldn't spoil it. "Two nations living just a little on their
history," he notes, as the teams come out. And, as an English football commentator, he should know.
The unfashionable games are becoming the ones to watch, after Slovenia v America yesterday, and now
this.
