Who can wait a month? I had to speculate the pots and make my own groups:
GROUP A -- South Africa, Greece, North Korea, Paraguay
GROUP B -- Brazil, Slovenia, Honduras, Nigeria
GROUP C -- Germany, Denmark, New Zealand, Uruguay
GROUP D -- Spain, Slovakia, USA, Ghana
GROUP E -- Argentina, Netherlands, Mexico, Cameroon
GROUP F -- Italy, Serbia, South Korea, Chile
GROUP G -- France, Portugal, Australia, Algeria
GROUP H -- England, Switzerland, Japan, Ivory Coast
How about that Group E, eh?

Jan Molby is a player that I have a lot of time for. The Danish footballer was a maestro in
midfield. While he's best remembered as being a pivotal player for Liverpool during his time there
between 1984 and 1996, he has a special place in my heart for being a pioneer with the club I
support, Swansea City, where he introduced a beautiful style of play as player manager which laid
the groundwork for Roberto Martinez's arrival, much later, in 2007.

Arsene Wenger today confirmed Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner will be back in full training in
three weeks. Nicklas was originally set to play against Manchester City in the Carling Cup tie at
the City of Manchester but will now more than be short of fitness for the tie.
Nicklas comeback from injury is likely to be pencilled in for Arsenal's last group tie away in
Greece, against champions Olympiakos.

Amidst all the drama with the Ireland vs France match and earlier the Egypt vs Algeria showdown,
the USA played a friendly with Denmark. Bob Bradley started Jeff Cunningham and I am happy to say,
it turned out well because he scored his first international goal and nearly set up Altidore with
another.

Six teams are still in with a chance of the domestic title.

The less said about this match, the better. It was painful to watch at moments. I think that
this is one of those matches that we're supposed to learn from. So, what did we learn?
-Landon Donovan is even more integral to this team than we could have imagined.
We knew he was the driving force, but the team looks completely lost without him.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the U.S. beating Denmark 1-0 at the half when I was able to tune
in yesterday.
Jeff Cunningham with the goal? That was hard to comprehend too.
I must have been a bad luck charm because right after a starting watching, Denmark couldn't stop
scoring and the Danes eventually pulled out the 3-1 win.

With J Hutcherson -- So about that game in Denmark yesterday.... Look, I'm hardly the type to try
to turn a disappointment into a suggestion of something better. The version of the United States on
display against Denmark, and to a lesser extend Slovakia, ended up representative of the same old
problems.

Yesterday ended the long and difficult road that is World Cup qualifying. The 32-team field is
set and while we won't know until next month what the groups are it does present a good time to
discuss each team and how they got there.
(Note: I hope this is a start of many more World Cup posts going into next year.

Take one look at the scoreline from the United States' 3-1 defeat by Denmark, and it's tempting to
assume that the more inexperienced elements of manager Bob Bradley's lineup were to blame. But
closer inspection reveals that some veteran performers should bear most of the responsibility.

Three quick second half goals by Denmark canceled out a first half goal by Jeff Cunninghamand
provided the Danes with a 3-1 victory against the U.S in its final match of 2009. Cunningham's goal
was his first in international competition and gave the U.S. a lead it would hold until halftime.
But three quick strikes from the hosts after the restart put the game to bed.

The United States got a first-half goal that stood into halftime, but couldn't hold up over the
second 45, losing 3-1 to Denmark on Wednesday in Aarhus. Jeff Cunningham scored from the top of the
arc in the 26th-minute for the opener. For Denmark, the story of the game was making three changes
to start the second-half, Johan Absalonsen got too much space in the US box and scored a
47th-minute equalizer - 70 seconds.

How about those Danish Van Houtens? What, you're telling me you didn't stick with 'The Simpsons'
