Lead Up: Chelsea v Bolton

The Offside - Chelsea 30 October @ 04:19 PM EST

So it's Bolton at the Reebok on Saturday.

I think we can safely say we're not going to see a repeat of the midweek thrashing we threw at Wanderers in the Carling Cup. Wednesday's match was the third consecutive demolition at Stamford Bridge 13 goals scored, none conceded. The Blues are in a rich vein, eh?

No clear favourites for the World Cup

SoccerLens 15 October @ 10:15 AM EST

For all the thrills and spills that club football brings us each and every season it doesn't come close to the passion I personally feel when it comes to the World Cup Finals.

Perhaps it's because my background as a professional footballer numbed my feelings and allegiances to one specific club?

Premiership, 25.2.01, Manchester United 6 - 1 Arsenal

Manchester United went a massive sixteen points clear at the top of the table after our 6-1 demolition of title rivals, Arsenal. Of all the clashes between the clubs this has to go down as the most humiliating. We did beat them 6-2 in the League Cup in 1990 and they put five past us on a couple of occasions in the 60's, but nothing compares to a 6-1 thrashing when you're both chasing the title.

SEASON BACK ON TRACK

Friends of Liverpool FC 19 August @ 07:53 PM EST
After last night's demolition of Stoke City the optimism has returned to Anfield.
Steve Gerrard played as an orthodox inside-right midfielder and his constant surging runs caused havoc amongst the Stoke defenders, whipping in cross after cross, it was Gerrard who propelled us to victory.
Rafa obviously has a few tactical changes up his sleeve so we need not worry, we are title contenders again, thank God Click to continue reading...

Bail-outs and long-term growth; a surprise scoreline, but not a surprise result/

Goonerboy 17 August @ 03:29 PM EST
You can really beat that for an opening day result, can you?
6 goals away from home. No matter who you're playing in the league, that's an exceptional performance.
And for some, an unthinkable result. After all, Arsenal haven't spent huge-wads of cash this summer. There's been no 'bail-out' of the squad. Click to continue reading...

Leyton who? You ask...Founded in 1881 and only in the English top flight for one season in the sixties, the Londoner's tore Championship newb's Newcastle limb from limb yesterday in a 6-1 demolition. Lets get back to 4-4-2 and use Eduardo and Carlos Vela!

Arsenal Insider 06 July @ 04:09 AM EST

Pre-season training starts in ernest today, some players who have extended international duties such as Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott and Keiran Gibbs will be given a few more days leave. This is the time when players on the fringes last season can be expecting to make the step up. Three players will have something to prove in my view.

Very little remains of Bannister Mall, there is only part of Sears left. What remains is basically a shell and then the garage portion of Sears in the southwest corner. Tampa makes it past first cut to host World Cup

Against The Run Of Play 16 June @ 04:51 PM EST
The field of candidates has been narrowed to a whopping 45 with the trimming of 13 candidates. Raymond James Stadium is on the newly shortened bid list, but is by no means a lock. In stadium terms, RJS will be a dinosaur come 2018/22 with new NFL play palaces being built every year or so.
I would guess that Florida is going to get a spot, mainly due to the popularity of the state as a tourist destination. Click to continue reading...

With soccer fans not just in KC, but around the US now talking about the new stadium renderings for the Wizards, the facility seems more realistic now to some.
