Wow – Another Wainy Wednesday!

JordanCornblog 01 July @ 06:00 AM EST

Who'd a thunk? I woke up at about 4:30 this morning to the sound of teeming rain -- and wondered how our young plants are keeping themselves from sliding down the hill. Really. As the light returns, I see that everything looks pretty much intact out there -- albeit waterlogged.

Not so intact are the egos of the Red Sox this morning, I'm thinking, as they blew a 10-1 lead and lost to the Orioles.

Getting Psyched

JordanCornblog 09 April @ 05:50 AM EST

The Breakers' home opener is this Saturday (4/11-7PM) against the Athletica at Harvard Stadiuim. Both teams have an opening day loss to rectify. It'll be fun to see Hope Solo and Lori Chalupny in town ... and just awesome to get the season rolling. A big plus of April soccer in Boston is that we get to wear all of our winter Breakers gear, too.

An Elephant Mired in It’s Own Muck

JordanCornblog 08 March @ 05:51 AM EST
That's how Michael Steele has described the Republican Party. I agree that muck is a great way to describe a medium comprised of the detritus of right wing preachers, radio hacks, and turdblossoms.  But it doesn't seem wise for a party that is struggling mightily to find its identity, should choose as its cheerleader-in-chief, someone [. A Little on the Drug-Addled, Pasty, Russian Nesting Doll Guy that the GOP Adores … Then We Move On

JordanCornblog 07 March @ 07:37 AM EST
Saturday morning ... last morning before we go back to daylight savings time.  I'm having some smooth, dark coffee and catching up on the news of the world while the sun comes up here. Scary times, as the economy's woes seem to be accelerating with no end in sight.  Maddow had a great explanation of the [. Click to continue reading...

JordanCornblog 28 February @ 07:29 AM EST
Happy Saturday everyone! Looks like it's going to be one beauty of a day. HollyCornblog and CharlieHopbrew should be on their way in another couple of hours and if I disappear for a while after they arrive, well, you'll know what I'm up to! Bipartisan Schmartisan

JordanCornblog 14 February @ 07:57 AM EST
So the stimulus package has passed, as the sun rises on this beautiful Saturday morning.  It wouldn't have, without the help of Arlen Specter, Olympia Snow, and Susan Collins - courageous, centrist Republicans in a sea of dissembling, disingenuous, faux bipartisan doofusses mouthing old platitudes and marching in lockstep. Plaxico Weirdness? Chris Matthews Running? Other Sunday Sundries …

JordanCornblog 30 November @ 08:14 AM EST
One of the oddest stories I noticed yesterday was about Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the leg. That seems a particularly inept and bizarre move in a strange year for Plaxico. The Redskins-Giants game was looking like a close call anyway - but now that Mr. Burress has removed himself from the field again (I'm [. Click to continue reading...

Coffee in Hand - I am Back

JordanCornblog 25 November @ 08:12 AM EST
Boy - a little queasy, though.  Soap-infused coffee is definitely not something I recommend on a rainy Tuesday morning. Speaking of which - is it me, or do you associate Tuesday's with rain?  Thursday's, too.  In my mind those are the greyer days of the week.  And speaking of greyer ... are greyer and grayer different [. Sunday Sundries … Before the Great Migration

JordanCornblog 28 September @ 05:42 AM EST
I'm going to be migrating everything from my old computer to my new one in just a wee bit ... so am posting somewhat quickly now.  Hopefully you'll hear from me again. If not, you'll know that things went badly here ... A bailout agreement has apparently been reached. I read some excellent debate analysis [. Click to continue reading...
