Okay, rather than that staid old, winner-take-all "next coach" poll that the Goffster is running,
I'm going to run a tournament-poll competition in honor of our beloved MLS Cup playoffs. So take a
look at the names that Goff has listed and toss out...

Go take a trip down memory lane and see how many of these USA jerseys you remember with fondness
(superheroes! Speed Racer! shame about the centered logo)... nausea (to be fair, the 90's boasted
some hideous jerseys, but still)... or pain (ugh,...

He ain't no Moses. But it's official. Carlos Alberto Parreira is back as Bafana coach through the
2010 World Cup. And laughing all the way to the bank, again.
This time, however, he'll have to deal with resentment in South Africa over his reappointment,
particularly among those who believed the time was right for a local coach to get the nod.

The 16th Law of Soccer revolves around the goal kick. As you can probably imagine, it is perhaps
the most boring rule in the entire FIFA rulebook. I mean, it's so simple, short and
self-explanatory, I won't be quizzing you on it, and I definitely won't waste a ton of your time
discussing the "intricacies" of the rule, because (frankly) there are none.

Something to read while you watch Barcelona lift that big trophy... And then tomorrow we'll talk

Local reports last week said that up to 65% of the tickets for the forthcoming Manchester United
friendly against an Indonesian All Star XI have already been sold.
While tickets don't go on general sale until June 1st, sponsors have been snapping up large
numbers.
Not content with having the general public select the squad by texting their favourite players to a
dedicated number, I haven't seen any updates or numbers on this released, now it appears the coach
will also be selected in a similar manner.

"How can one not speak of terrorism, how can one find a good use of the media - there is
none" - Umberto Eco.
As we recently prompted you, and we like a theme, all markets are functions of economic and
psychological mechanisms.
This would necessarily include Political Prediction Markets and, moreover, the hyperrealities that
they seek to efficiently price.

A police chaplain has blessed the building where Austrian officers will conduct risk assessments
regarding the likelihood of a large-scale "terrorist" offensive at the Euro 2008
Finals.
Presumably, any religious "terrorist" worthy of the name will also be calling on divine
help in the aid of their cause.

Privacy is paramount in a world where knowledge and data are the only competitive advantages. The
warped narrative sold to a consumerist planet by shareholder capitalism is based on the proprietary
ownership and the withholding of such information but this exchange is uni-directional and the
masses must be as diligent as the autocrats in protecting their own individual liberties.

you nonetheless. So, if you feel so inclined, please direct your browsers to the following and do

"I'm a professional. I am 100% right".
So said referee Mark Halsey yesterday to Ipswich manager Jim Magilton after making a sending off
decision that was, in fact, 100% wrong. However, the man is most certainly a professional...
There are two fundamental factors that allow corruption to occur in a financial marketplace.

Néa Dhimokratía outrageously won yesterdays Greek elections despite being responsible for
everything that is malignant in the country. The 42% of the population who made the choice of self
rather than anything approaching altruistic concern for the erosion of a true bottom-up democracy
should feel nothing but shame.
The rampant corruption that degrades many aspects of Greek society inevitably spreads over to
football.

A retort to the argument that: "Corrupt African leaders provide a big obstacle to African
development".
Sure there are some dreadful leaders in Africa but so there are in Asia and South/Central America
(often serving as client regimes of the US and/or business interests). Countries which have an
economic value to the First World, in a broad sense, are impacted upon in two ways.

There is something inherently unpleasant about having to spend some time in the company of a
freemason. The conversation may start promisingly and then, when he discloses his occupation, the
first alarm bells start up. The compulsory sharing of names followed by the revealing handshake
marks the completion of any productive element to the interaction and one is left with the mason
displaying a sneering dismissiveness and with oneself mocking their trumped up self esteem which is
solely based on their non-meritocratically generated position in society.
