Arsenal under Arsene Wenger have generally been regarded as a team that produces great flowing football and have changed the way that the game is played in England. They have also been seen as a bit lightweight sometimes, and Wenger has had his disagreements with managers like Sam Allardyce when teams have set out to bully the Gunners by playing a very physical way.
The arrival of the beetle-headed dung-munching orcs from Stoke will be the first real test of
our newly found confidence. Can Arsenal overcome these mutants and gain 3 points without a slew of
injuries? Furthermore, can Arsenal get through 90+ minutes of  battle with 11 players on the field
another red card for the good guys would not be a huge surprise.
Arsene Wenger was recently in Switzerland with a host of other top European managers to discuss the
future of the game. Other attendees at the UEFA conference included Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep
Guardiola and Andre Villas-Boas. A ccording to the Metro Ajax coach Frank De Boer revealed a
controversial proposal put forward by the Arsenal [.
Funny old game football. A week ago we were facing sublime skill, at the weekend passion and
unlikely hope, and tonight aggression and anti-football. It is a testament to the Beautiful game
that all types of football can be encompassed inside 7 days.
We know what to expect from this Stoke team under the tutelage of Mr Pulis, it will be park the
bus, long throw ins and long, long balls to test the aerial expertise of our defence.
After an embarrassing capitulation in the second half to their cocky rivals, Arsene Wenger was
expectedly left facing a lot of questions to answer about his team and his methods. He adamantly
denied that the new training regime involving volleyball games had anything to do with the conceded
penalty and maintained that that was simply an effort to increase the average height of his
team.
I hope Ramsey recovers soon and his injury won't be as serious as that of Eduardo or RvP. There
isn't much I can do for him so I'll just pray and hope. The injury was really bad so I don't want
to dwell on it too much right now.
The team responded brilliantly and the spirit was phenomenal. Hats off to each and every one of
them.
I feel this season we have seen unprecedented complaints against our keepers. All three of them
have come under scrutiny and have received widespread criticism. As regular readers will have
noticed, I have defended our keepers time and again. The point I always made was that anyone who
comes under that kind of pressure and who plays in a team with overall defending issues will make
mistakes.
no huge, in depth analysis of yesterday's game as I only have the second half and Match of the
Day highlights to go on. The result was just what we needed. It looked as if we were heading for
that scabby 1-0 but the late penalty (it wasn't a dream!) secured the three points.
Earlier in the season we were the team who scored the most goals.
By Walter Broeckx I don't like the ritual from Delap when he is going to take a throw-in. On Sunday
I watched the game and I have timed how much time it takes to get the ball back in play when Stoke
City can take a throw and they let Delap do it. You have to take [...]
1) There are no longer any mitigating factors: time and again he has been given chances and time
and again he has failed to deliver. Theo Walcott is not an Arsenal quality player.
But today it got worse than that: he was more of a hindrance than a help. He consistently gave the
ball away, didn't make a single good cross and generally looked completely anonymous.

Stoke City came from behind to defeat Besiktas 2-1 thanks to Jon Walters' penalty in Thursday's
Europa League clash at the Britannia Stadium.
Besiktas scored first but one minte later Stoke tied the match...
Besiktas went ahead in the 14th minute when Roberto Hilbert scored on to Ricardo Quaresma's pass,
but their lead lasted only a couple minutes, goalkeeper Rustu Recber unable to claim Dean
Whitehead's corner and Peter Crouch scored the goal for Stoke City.
Stoke City are sitting pretty in tenth place in the EPL this season only three points off the
dizzy heights of seventh place. Not many like to watch Tony Pulis' side, and fans of other Premier
League teams see them as a blot on the landscape because of their style of play. But Stoke are
suffering from the same label as was bestowed on Sam Allardyce's Bolton side.
Manchester United finally ends their away win drought in the Premier League this week after
defeating their opponent Stoke City 2-1 at Britannia Stadium this Sunday.
Still playing without their headline stealer striker, Wayne Rooney, the away team need to thanks
their new signing, Javier 'Chicarito' Hernandez who scored all United's goals on that game proving
his worth to all of that doubting his quality.

Britannia Stadium on Sunday 24th October 2010, kick-off is set for 1:30 PM.
West Ham got up and running in the Barclays Premier League today with a well earned point at
Stoke City. After going 1-0 up, everyone associated with West Ham will be a little disappointed but
this point says a lot for West Ham's future in the league this season.
Any team in the EPL would settle for a point at the Britannia Staidum.
The what: Premier League, Round 3 – Chelsea v. Stoke City The where: Stamford Bridge (41,841) The when: August 28, 3pm local time (10am EST) The how: Fox Soccer Plus (DirecTV 621, Dish Network 406) The why: Because supposed transfer target Asmir Begovic needs to see, again, why
he refused to play in Stoke's midweek Carling Cup match.
There is a buoyancy to both of these teams given their undefeated starts to the season, and with
the respective managers having also acquired a host of fresh recruits prior to the close of the
transfer window it feels likely this fixture will be characterised by a sense of adventure and
renewed excitement.
Rory John Delap first came into Premiership prominence after a big-money move from Derby County to
Southampton. He was seen at that time as an uncompromising midfielder who couples impressive
forward runs with strong tackling and excellent passing. That's what I remembered him as, a
fantastic athlete who was never flashy but very effective.

I was fortunate enough to have access to ESPN3, so I could watch the US C-team take on the
Chilean B-team while listening to the dulcet tones of John Harkes rather than hearing it in a
language I barely understand on Telefutura.
Let's face it – we all make mistakes. Some make more than others – I should know! However,
it is my belief that it takes a mature, honest person to own up to their mistakes and take
responsibility for them. On February 18th I wrote an article bemoaning the lack of fight and drive
in our team.
Arsenal 2 (Arshavin 26, Ramsey 79) Stoke 0 (Premiership)
When news filtered through that Eduardo had picked up a knock before the game, it became
apparent that despite having started the season with such an abundance of forwards that switching
to 4-3-3 still left plenty in reserve, we were now down to Carlos Vela.
