Del Bosque Says Ya’ll Should Chill & Dona Hails Messi!

Futbolita 13 November @ 09:05 PM EST

What is Spain's key to beating Argentina tonight? If you believe Uncle Del Bosque, it's being tranquilo ("even when you're on a plane that's about to crash..." a Brazilian reporter once told us).

"We must always be thinking about maintaining our enthusiasm, because there is no comfort zone.

Pellegrini: 7 libres y directos

Click to continue reading...

Zona Rayada 12 October @ 10:05 AM EST

Something Spectacular!

Soccer Tickets Online 23 September @ 05:13 AM EST

The ‘spectacular sporting project' that Florentino Perez envisioned might just be starting to gel smoothly. The question however is if this new ‘galacticos' era will bring Madrid the titles they have very much craved for. There is no doubt that with players such as Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo Real is a formidable side although I still feel that their glory days are long gone.

Del Bosque’s and Ronaldo’s Critics

Uncle Del Bosque thinks that Spain's critics need to start eating their paellas and chill out as they prepare to face Belgium in a World Cup qualifier.

"The criticism I take is normal. When you lose, the critic sees fit to criticise. Football is a debate.

Jose is eating Lippi for dinner

Dirty Tackle 19 August @ 12:32 PM EST

It all started when Marcello Lippi said he thought Juventus would win Serie A this season. That was the spark that ignited Jose Mourinho's insatiable temper and has led to begin an all-out attack on Lippi that would make your dad cry. Even though Lippi was quick to apologize and say it was just his opinion, mind you, Jose has unloaded with some daggers:

Lippi passed judgment on television the other night," slammed Mourinho.

(video gol) Confederation Cup: Spagna-Iraq 1-0. Villa stende i leoni di Mesopotamia. Furie Rosse in semifinale

CitySport...un Mondo nuovo... 18 June @ 04:08 AM EST
(Spagna-Iraq 1-0)

The Confederations Cup: Spain 1-0 Iraq

Twohundredpercent 17 June @ 10:54 AM EST

It took Spain 40 years to rebuild their national team into a championship-winning force, so 55 minutes was never going to be too long to wait. Still, that's how long they were kept at bay by Bora Milutinovic's limited but very well-organised Asian champions.

With ten men behind the ball throughout, Iraq stifled the Spanish attack to such a degree that, had it been an incarnation of the same side from a few years ago, one might have wondered an upset was on the cards.

The Confederations Cup: New Zealand - Spain

Twohundredpercent 14 June @ 03:52 PM EST

Iker Casillas is a one club man. He first signed for Real Madrid Juniors at the age of ten, and has been at the Bernebau ever since. He has played almost three hundred and fifty matches for Real and, at the age of twenty-eight, has also made ninety-three matches for Spain as well. Considering that Real can get crowds of anything up to 10,000 for their training sessions, there was one question that drifted through my mind this evening: is the smallest football crowd that Iker Casillas has ever seen?

Confederations Cup: Spain destroying New Zealand

Vincent Del Bosque looks very bovine.

Its unbearable. Torres has a hat trick and Fabregas adds one more. And its only halftime. Spain has about 90% of the ball.

San Jose's Simon Eliott wages a lone battle for New Zealand.

Any guesses as to the final scoreline? How about 9-0?
