Howard Webb will take charge of Sunday's potential title decider at Old Trafford. Now, before
you sink your pain into some unlucky bloke's face, do we as Chelsea supporters even have reason to
be upset?
Croatian International, Nico Krancar, 26, looks likely to leave Tottenham in January
after the club stated that a  bid of around 9 million would be accepted...
Bio: Despite continued speculation that he would move to Arsenal, Nico chose to
leave Hajduk Split for Portsmouth in 2006.
Candor in player interviews is a rare thing in football these days, almost like they're
pre-programmed with multiple choice answers from which to choose, not really mattering if the
answer is relevant or not, but making sure it's the least inflammatory.
Except for one man.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has done this before and he's likely to do it again.
During Joan Laporta's seven-year reign as President of Barcelona, he brought in Ronaldinho,
Deco, Samuel Eto'o, and appointed Pep Guardiola as first team manager. Despite these successes, the
Spanish politician was ousted in a storm of controversy by former cohort Sandro Rossell in 2010,
and has since become a member of Catalan parliament.
The onslaught of criticism directed at Jose Mourinho in the last couple of weeks have been a direct result of his own disgruntlement (towards the 'inner politics' at the Bernabeu... how typical!) However, following Real Madrid's 2-2 draw with Espanyol last night, the Portuguese coach has now admitted that they stand no chance of winning the La Liga title.
11 year old Brazilian kid Gabrial showcases all his skill despite being born without feet which
gained him a trial at his beloved Barcelona.
And this brave kid even went one further by passind all the clubs criteria with Dr. Maurice
Smith, a member of the club's sports science department, telling Globo:
After a story in a local paper about 11-year old Brazilian Barcelona fan Gabriel a boy born with
unformed feet who was still managing to rip it up for his school football team despite the obvious
setback caught the eye of someone within the Catalan club's youth ranks, the wee chap was invited
to come along on Barca's summer training camp, meaning young Gabriel scored himself a week-long
training course with Barcelona in the sunny climes of Rio de Janeiro.
Word on the wind is that former Barcelona president Joan Laporta, now a member of the Catalan
parliament, is angling for re-election after being succeeded by Sandro Rosell a couple of years ago
and one woman is doing her damnedest to make it happen, that woman being Spanish porn star Maria
Lapiedra.

Champions League Preview: Real and Barca the teams to beat - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
It seems that in almost every aspect of the game, two clubs dominate the footballing world. They
are Spanish super heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona. Any team boasting multiple stars is said
to echo Real's Galactico era, while teams from League Two to the K-League are said to be a
mini-Barcelona.
Inter's hero of the day yesterday Samuel Eto'o has for the first time shed some light on his
infamous departure from Spanish giants Barcelona. According to Eto'o, Lionel Messi tried to
persuade Guardiola not to sell him.
Immediately after the 2007/2008 season, the then Barcelona president Joan Laporta had marked the
Cameroonian along with Ronaldinho and Deco as the players who were to leave the club as they were
the main reason for the raging disquiet in the dressing room.
New Technical Director, Michael Emenalo is featured this morning on Skysports speaking of the
Michael Essien injury and has openly admitted that Chelsea may not look to replace him this season
and stick with what we have in his position.
When asked about replacing Essien who is out for six months he said:
"The squad is littered with world-class players and the idea of replacing someone or
not replacing someone sounds a little bit ludicrous.
Carlo Ancelotti is making headlines this morning after his pre match press conference ahead of
Birmingham City at Stamford Bridge tonight because of one thing in particular and that's his
comment made of the squad he was left with this season.
Of course as you can imagine with the focus of the questions about his future Carlo has explained
that we haven't had the best of seasons because we never had players of enough quality to cover
when we had our mid-season crisis.
It is the tentative dawn of Spring that so often exposes the true resolve of a football team. It
is the time when trophies are won and lost, January signings can be truly evaluated and squads are
tested to their fullest. With the season taking its toll on players' fitness I wouldn't imagine
that there is a manager in the Premier League right now who is able to pick his true first XI.
It has been difficult to explain the recent down-turn in Chelsea's fortunes on the pitch these last
few months. Following a breathtaking start to the season in which they won their first five games,
and had breathing space at the top following indifferent starts by their rivals, they are now only
just recovering following a [.
Didier Drogba is featured in an interview here speaking once again of Chelsea's form and the need
to win consecutive games first before thinking of a push for the Premier League title.
He said:
Instead of thinking about winning the title, we should think about winning two
consecutive games.
Carlo Ancelotti yesterday when asked about Chelsea's form and the fact that we let the likes of
Ballack, Joe Cole, Deco and Carvalho go last summer, responded by stating he doesn't regret the
decision at all and insisted the clubs youth policy is working.
He said:
"I always thought that this was a good squad, I thought this at the start of the
season.
Kalou missed a sitter to pile on the misery at Chelsea
The problems at Chelsea continue to mount as a draw in the North East allowed Manchester United
to overhaul the champions at the top of the table for the first time this season.
With an important month in the title race about to begin injuries, backroom drama and poor
performances have left confidence shattered at a club that has only collected four points from a
possible fifteen.
News of a six-month lay-off for Yossi Benayoun will have been greeted with groans around
Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Following the summer sales of Michael Ballack, Deco, Joe Cole, Juliano Belletti and Ricardo
Carvalho Chelsea have a smaller and less-experienced squad than any previous season under the
ownership of Roman Abramovich as they attempt to defend their Premier League crown.
Ever since the vote on the UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations there has been an ongoing debate
about the impact they'll have on clubs. There seem to be three broad opinions; the new regulations
will change the world of football, the new regulations will have some impact, and there will be no
impact whatsoever.
I have had it with Didier Drogba and the sight of him celebrating scoring a goal or two every
time Arsenal play Chelsea. You might not remember this but there was a time 3 points are all we
ever get out of this fixture. Since Roman Abramovich used his oil money to sign Drogba, the latter
has disrupted the balance of nature.
Chelsea have made approximately 50 signings since the take-over of Roman Abramovich. About £470
million (and William Gallas) has been spent on these players – that averages out at just over £9
million (and one of Gallas' hands) per player.
In this time Chelsea have had some really disappointing players, especially when you consider
how much have been spent on some of these players.
Brazilian Championship or "Brasileirão", as it is better known, approaches its end after the
36th round with league leaders Fluminense carrying a meagre 60% overall performance so far. Can it
be identified as a sign of balance or a proof that the league itself is far poorer technically than
it could be?
