As always, Mr. Unprecedented Access, Steve Goff, has a sit down with Kevin Payne and Tom Soehn
over on his blog. Some big quotes...
"We don't want to play like Colorado or New England, which most of the season sat with eight or
nine guys behind the ball. How many people go to watch Colorado or New England play?

Take it for what it's worth, but Yahoo has Bryan Namoff on the way out (I'd imagine after the
season's over) to the Greek league. As Namoff has become the absolute stalwart of the defense, the
team would have a hard time replacing him. However, for Bryan, you'd have to understand the move to
make one real payday.

As originally reported here (in The Offside's First official scoop), Bill Hamid, Annandale
native and academy product, has signed with MLS and will be on DCU's roster as the third
goalkeeper. As a result of this and other additions like Shipalane, Habarugira, and James, someone
on the current roster will have to be cut.

A busy day at Offside HQ, and whole boat load of stuff to talk about. Strap in.
- First and foremost, roster moves. The long rumored, and now finally finalized move for David
Habaruguira, defender from Anderlecht in the Netherlands. He had throughly impressed Tom Soehn,
enough that he had this to say,
"He is pretty versatile, pretty polished," Soehn said.

I'm hearing the DCU will soon be signing DCU Academy keeper, Bill Hamid, to a contract. There is
currently one open spot, but I have a feeling with N'Silu's recent performances, there could be two
in the near future. David Habarugira from Feyenoord will most likely take one of the spots, and I
imagine Hamid will take another.

I got in trouble that last time I posted something unconfirmed, but under my new charter of
"being unofficial, being irresponsible, and being the first to report stuff", I'll give it a go
anyway.
I just heard from my source (the same one that said the Real Madrid was confirmed, and then it
was later on in the week he said it would happen), that Ben communicated to a confidant that he was
done playing due to the pain he was experiencing.

Like kissing your sister, as long as your sister isn't hot, or a good kisser.
The thing you'll hear most from any reports you're bound to read about this match is that Josh
Wicks did well, and RSL bunkered. Honestly, that's about all I could tell you about it, too. DC
started out bad, and finished bad.

The rumor was flying around last week and now its official. Avery John has been
added to DC United and Francis Doe has been shown the door to free up a roster spot. Goff broke the
news yesterday on his blog over on wapo.com. Nobody was sure who would go to make room for
John.

According to Goff, a trade has transpired that has sent Christian Gomez back to DC, in exchange for
a DP slot, Ivan Guerrero, and a draft pick. DC also gets an international spot, and a 4th string
goalie who will never ever play. Snap judgement? I'm with everyone, I think. This is a move
backwards.

Well, the jersey curse of Jon Hoffman strikes again. Or is about to strike again. This summer, I
bought a Shevchenko jersey, because I love that underachieving Ukranian. The day after I got it, he
was off to AC Milan. In the great jersey sale of DCUTEAMSTORE.com, I got a Gallardo jersey for
Christmas from [.

Seriously? Apparently, yes. If you don't know who Stephen Appiah is, you aren't paying close
attention. He's not Beckham or Blanco, but he's a player that excels internationally, and has a
good club record. Oh, also, he's now being courted by AC Milan. The issue appears to be that
Gallardo won't leave, even if [.

So far, the ol' offseason hot stove is pretty cool to the touch. Nothing groundbreaking to report,
but I'll give you all of the recent rumors and innuendos involving United. Clyde Simms looks to be
resigned next week, according to the Goff. Also in that post, the subtle hint that Bryan Namoff may
not [.

From a number of sources, both in English and otherwise, it appears we have signed another
goalkeeper. Louis Crayton, formerly of FC Basel in Switzerland, appears to be on his way to the
Nation's Capital to provide our buddy, Zach, with some competition. Here is a picture of him. He
looks strong. We'll see how [.

This article states that Francis Doe has lost his US Passport, which also contained his work visa
and his European visa. As a result, he's not allowed to come back to the club. In the article, he's
afraid that his contract will be terminated. Doe also thinks that Liberian officials are showing

Goff has it on not too great authority that Morelia is going to buy Luciano Emilio, the 2007
Golden Boot winner and our entire offense.
Will this happen? It could. Emilio is still under contract, for I believe 2 more seasons. It would
take a lot of money to pry him lose. But if they come in with a strong enough offer, DC will sell
him.

According to Hertha Offside, it looks like Arguez may not only transfer to Hertha, but he might
make the First team! That's great news for him I'm sure, and I'm sure DC would be compensated. But
here are the things I wonder...
If Arguez is good enough to start for a Bundesliga team, is he not also good enough for an MLS
team?

Here at DC United, we love all things South American. Whether it be steaks, women, or football
players, we can't get enough. That's why the so called "Argentine Pipeline" which has brought us
Christian Gomez...and some other people...has given us a few more players, both from Argentina and
other countries in the region.

instead of just continuing to let people leave. Goff reports we are close to signing Gonzalo
Peralta, a starting central defender for Club Almirante Brown in Argentina's second division.
Want to know about him? So do I. One would assume he's somewhere in this picture.
Problem? All google results are in espanol.

Goff is saying the deal could be done, or just in talks.
I don't really have anything to say at this point. Cannon is an amazing keeper, and I've seen him
stand on his head in numerous games. Perkins is pretty steady, if not prone to an occasional mental
lapse, or a second delay getting off his line.

So that means rumors!
Here.
This article, while poorly written and most likely undependable, states that Luci is on his way
out if he doesn't get PAID. And I quote...
Luciano Emilio was clear: he is leaving DC United, the club in which he had a great season,
scoring 20 goals, and getting to the playoffs, he won the golden ball, was named MVP, and best
newcomer.
