Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez finally catches a break as he knew this week that he could count
with Steven Gerrard and David Ngog to face Manchester City on Saturday. The odds for this game can
change a bid in any good sports book as these two players are available to play. Gerrard has been
vulnerable for [.

We've all done it. Tried to decipher the means, motives and mayhem behind a certain situation all
within the whirling storm of our minds, failing to do the one oh so simple thing which could solve
all our problems. On occasion causing a much larger problem through the tangents of an imagination
enough to make [.

These have probably been a very uncomfortable couple of days for David N'Gog. The dramatics with
which he won the penalty against Birmingham might be lauded as cunning elsewhere but, as many have
been eager to point out to him, they aren't as celebrated in England.
The flip side, of course, is that the penalty got a point for Liverpool.

OK, so no one on planet Earth can honestly say this wasn't a dive but what now? Arsenal striker
Eduardo did a similar 'sack of potatoes to the floor type dive' and was banned by UEFA who then
remembered they were in effect an impotent body and they swiftly changed their tune. Surely
something needs to be done about the alarming rise in simulation in the game.

We think diving is as much a stain on the modern game as the next person, but it's come to the
point that when someone wins a penalty the armchair fans instinctively brandish the player a liar
and a cheat. Such was the case after Monday's Liverpool v Birmingham match, when
Lee Carsley's lunge at David Ngog in the penalty box earned the Reds a
penalty kick, a valuable point, and ultimately gave Rafa Benitez a stay of execution.

When David N'Gog scored so early on, the game opened itself perfectly for Liverpool: this was the
ideal starting point, the launching pad that could lead to a much needed win. Then came the
inevitable defensive lapse that resulted in a conceeded goal which was followed up by the sucker
punch of Cameron Jerome's splendid but somewhat fortiuitous goal and suddenly it was a repeat of so
many games this season.

There is no longer a debate on this. Not one which has any credibility. The reason i say this is
that a debate is where two or more factions can equally assert their opinions on a given subject.
Well....the debate is now dead. Its time for action. Football is riddled by this disease that halts
the match [.

But a very effective one Liverpool striker David Ngog saved Rafa Benitez's blushes by cheating to
win his side a penalty against Birmingham last night. Steven Gerrard converted the spot-kick to
salvage a draw and avoid yet another embarrassing defeat. The Blues were fuming, with ex-Evertonian
Lee Carsley protesting that he had not made contact with Ngog.

[101GG] This is bad. So very, very bad. Liverpool and Birmingham offered us, as Daryl so aptly
pointed out, 'what the Premier league is supposed to be like'. It really was some fantastic stuff
with the Reds pinning Birmingham into not just their box, but their own six yard box, pinging the
ball around the eighteen as [.

This was a game where, more then anything else, Liverpool were looking to see which players would
enhance their reputation. And, in that respect there is plenty about which to be satisfied despite
the defeat. Make no mistake, this was nothing like last year's feeble surrender at Tottenham:
Liverpool played with determination and commitment that deserved a better outcome.

After Jermaine Pennant came out from his Spanish Villa and criticised Benetiz for
miss-management of players, it felt like the final nail in the coffin for the Spanish manager.
A poor result in mid-week against a Lyon team not at the peak of their powers looked like
silencing Rafa once and for all.

After today's victory over Manchester United, perhaps they should change their theme song from
You'll Never Walk Alone to this one.
And yeah, I know that those pictures didn't come from today's game, but I can't keep track of
all of Torres' goals against the Mancs nor Vidic's red cards against Liverpool.

Liverpool made it 3-on-3, as they defeated Manchester United 2-0 at Anfield, their third
consecutive victory over the Premiership Champions. This win allowed them not only to climb in the
Premier League table, but also helped them stop their losing streak, worse in 2 decades. Fernando
Torres gave the Reds the early lead and scored his [.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes David Ngog has a big role to play for the side this
season.
Ngog helped Liverpool reach the fourth round of the Carling Cup with the winning goal in the 1-0
victory over Leeds on Tuesday night.

This was always going to be a tricky game, one from which Liverpool had everything to lose whilst
Leeds United, doing so well in League One, were going to be determined to do well in front of their
own fans. For Benitez, the headache was going to be who to play: on the one hand there was the
calls to put in some of the younger players but on the other there was the fear of being shown up
by Leeds with the hammering that would undoubtedly follow.

A good all round performance from Liverpool and in particular from some squad players eager to
impress Rafa Benitez. Andriy Voronin begins and ends a flowing move from a quality Ryan Babel
cross. The second comes after good work from much maligned Andrea Dossena who lays on to David
N'Gog.

So far this summer, much has been made of Alonso's will he/won't he transfer to Real Madrid.
It's rather like Dawson's Creek but for people who have already lost their virginity and moved past
alcopops. However, I think what is just as important but is being somewhat overlooked is
Liverpool's striking options.

The Rumour
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez remains keen on Cruzeiro striker Kleber.
The 25 year-old revealed last month that Liverpool had made an offer for him.
And Globoesporte says Liverpool are still interested and Kleber could be the next to follow new
Villarreal signing Nilmar to leave the Brazilian championship for a big European club.

Over the last year, Rafael Benitez has wasted a huge chunk of the club's money on transfers
that, for whatever reason, just didn't work out. With news that Liverpool have reportedly accepted
a £4.3m bid from Napoli for left-back Andrea Dossena, this money-wasting trend seems set to
continue.

This hasn't been an easy season for David N'Gog. Not that it could have been any other way. It is
often said that it takes a player a season to adjust to the Premiership but that's assuming that
he's playing regularly. For someone who, like N'Gog, only gets to play sporadically it is all the
more difficult to adapt.

Liverpoo's 19 year old French footballer David Ngog scored his first English Premier League goal
against Sunderland in a March 3, 2009 game. The goal was from Gerrard's missed header. I say, Ngog
is promising. He has a good first touch. If the defenders swarm him he can pass it perfectly to the
winger.

We'll have that top space of the group now, thank you. The performance delivered by the Reds in
the first half seemed to be more of the same. There was lots of passing, not particularly well,
with virtually no opportunities being created. PSV's Lazovic snuck one in between Cavalieri's legs
after a controversial corner kick.

The appearance of David N'Gog last Tuesday as a second half substitute was a surprising one, yet it
says much about the quality of Liverpool's squad.
In explaining the substitution, Rafael Benitez said that he wanted to change things up front, to
put on a striker who could perhaps add something different.

It was a boring match until the last 4 minutes of stoppage time, which saw a questionable
penalty given to Liverpool (Fine by me, we'll take the draw) and 4 yellow cards.
If we hadn't scored, I would probably started off by saying Liverpool was shite. Nando's former
club outplayed us, and though we had most of the possessions in the 2nd half, we were not able to
find the net.

Excuse our indifference but we've been through this before.
No matter how hyped up the transfer of David N'Gog is, it is hard to get excited. Any flattery
lavished on the French sounds far too similar to the praise devoted to the likes of Anthony Le
Tallec and Florent Sinama Pongolle before they joined.

Well you can add another name to the Liverpool squad for the upcoming season. The club announced
today that French sensation David Ngog will be plying his trade at Anfield after making the move
from PSG. While I don't know much about Ngog, everything that I've read and seen has got me pretty
excited.

The pre-season continues, with the Reds having finished in a scoreless draw with Hertha Berlin last
