Continuing the series where we vote "River" for players that we want to see DC United cast away and
we vote "Life" for players that we hope will return, let's take a look now at DCU's defenders. I
have a feeling this group will prove more interesting than the defensive midfielders, who received
mostly favorable ratings.
With two senior roster spots open and a developmental spot presenting itself in the wake of
Barklage's season-ending knee injury, United seems to have wasted no time in assessing the summer
transfer market wares and making their selections. So...

From the D.C. United Front Office, the team announced today the club has acquired defender David
Habarugira. Habarugira completed a trial with the team earlier this summer and will join the

really the most creative CAM either.
DC United announced a few roster moves today. As reported before, Julius James is coming after a
trade with Houston for a 3rd Round Draft Pick in 2012.
DC announced that they have signed defender David Habarugira. Habarugira has played for the
Burundi national team and in the Anderlecht (Belgium) youth system.
As always, Mr. Unprecedented Access, Steve Goff, has a sit down with Kevin Payne and Tom Soehn
over on his blog. Some big quotes...
"We don't want to play like Colorado or New England, which most of the season sat with eight or
nine guys behind the ball. How many people go to watch Colorado or New England play?
