Clearly, every game is a very tough one for Arsenal on current form. Will the team get its first
League win of 2012? Doesn't seem like it if we look at the manner in which Arsenal have dropped
points in recent games, or the way Blackburn came from behind to win at home earlier this season,
or the fact that Steve Kean is yet to lose against Wenger or Ferguson in the Premiership (2W,
2D)!
We didn't feel good before last night's win at Blackburn. Fab Coloccini tussles with David Dunn
last night And when we wrote we just didn't have a good feeling about the game last night in our
match preview, that probably cheered up a of of Newcastle fans. And would you believe it,
the lads got a terrific win 2-0, and we were wrong again!
Newcastle United are up to fifth in the Premier League after they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0,
while Arsenal's poor run of form continues as they were held 0-0 at Bolton.
Newcastle took a 12th-minute lead when Blackburn's Scott Dann deflected a 25-yard shot from Ryan
Taylor past stranded Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Newcastle are now just three points behind Chelsea and a UEFA Champions League place as the
Magpies leapfrog both Liverpool and Arsenal with the win.

Blackburn Rovers 0-2 Newcastle United Premier League 1st February 2012
Despite still being shorn of the services of their two Demba-tastic strikers, Alan Pardew's
Newcastle halted their recent decline with a very valuable away victory at Ewood Park.
Newcastle did not play well tonight at Ewood Park and had a bit of luck, Tim Krul saved a penalty
from David Dunn just before half time and was immense for Newcastle tonight. Newcastle were
very lucky in their first 11 games of the season when we picked up 25 points and it could be that
luck is returning.

Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Fulham Premier League 14th January 2012
Steve Kean watched his side produce a superb battling performance at Ewood Park on Saturday, a
performance which ultimately moved Blackburn out of the relegation zone for the first time since
September.
Showing that chunky lads can cut the mustard in the top flight 1. Grant Holt (Norwich) He's a big
unit. When he had his moustache he looked more like a rogue DC from a 1970s police drama than a top
footballer. Nonetheless, he's proved he can score in the Premier League. 2. Jonathan Walters

Wigan and Blackburn played out an incident packed 3-3 draw at the DW Stadium today. Pedersen's
non corner will leave you gobsmacked while Paul Jones villian to hero status was equally
controversial and there was also the small matter of David Dunn getting sent off early into the
second half to contend with.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean confronts the 'Kean Out' Rovers' fans
The DW Stadium hosted a quite fantastic 'relegation dogfight' which produced a total of six
goals in a game which ultimately saw Wigan and Blackburn have to make do with a share of the
points.
Guess who's coming to Villa Park... again!! I'm sure their fans are as sick of the
sight of us as we are of them. Fortunately, if we can avoid being drawn against them in both of the
cups, we won't have to see them again until the reverse of this fixture in March next year.
So, here's how the two Glaswegian managers are sending their sides out today in what will be
Alex McLeish's first home game since taking over at Aston Villa.
Quick Reminder, Real Life What an ugly season. They dropped from 10th place in 2009/10 to 15th in
the standings last season. They fired a solid if not spectacular manager in Big Sam and replaced
him with Steve Kean who excites exactly nobody. They didn't score well, they didn't defend well.
Really, the only thing that went even passably well was their defending at home which was the sixth
As Steve Kean looks to hold on to his best players, he has today added young Scottish striker
David Goodwillie to his squad for the new campaign.
Goodwillie signs from Dundee United having played five seasons in their tangerine colours. The
youngster netted 29 goals in his time their and bolsters the attacking options for Blackburn this
season.
Blackburn Rovers have gone clucking mad as they showcase their brand new shirt sponsor 'Venkys'
with the cheesiest football advert since Gary Lineker did those Walkers promotions a few years
back. Resembling something straight out of an American-styled marketing project, the 30 second clip
sees the likes of captain David Dunn, striker Jason Roberts and [.
Fowl, ref! Blackburn Rovers have taken lots of chicken jibes since the new owners took over. But it
looks like they are simply going to embrace the fun-poking. The Rovers squad have been dragged in
to advertise Venky's, the Indian poultry firm that now owns the club. It is fair to say that David

Another Transfermations, this time, Blackburn...
Where that stand:
Avoiding relegation was the priority last season, but Blackburn are a thinning squad with Phil
Jones gone and Christopher Samba on his way. It's obvious that The Venkys need to strengthen
somewhat to avoid a repeat.

There was just one Premiership game being played on Sunday as Roberto Matteo's West Bromwich
Albion travelled to Ewood Park to pit their wits against the new management team at Blackburn. The
Indian owners of Rovers are standing firmly behind their man since Allardyce's departure and Kean
didn't do his cause any harm today.
Roy Hodgson has survived many low points in his short spell as Liverpool manager but Wednesday
night's 3-1 defeat at Blackburn would seem to be one disaster too far and could hasten his exit
from Anfield.
Even before Saturday's injury-time winner against Bolton the suggestion was club owners New England
Sports Ventures were actively looking for a replacement.
Blackburn vs Liverpool Ewood Park, Blackburn Final score:- Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Liverpool ( Martin
Olsson, Benjamin Mwaruwari*2/ Steven Gerrard) Any positives Liverpool might have got with their
last gasp win over Bolton at the weekend vanished with this 3-1 loss at the hands of Blackburn
Rovers at Ewood Park.
It's early days, but I'm beginning to see a lot of worrying parallels between Blackburn manager
Steve Kean and Sammy Lee, assistant manager at Liverpool.
Lee was assistant manager at Bolton Wanderers for two years under Sam Allardyce. When Lee
stepped up to become manager after Sam Allardyce left to join Newcastle United, Lee finally had a
chance to make his name as a football manager.
