100 Percent Soccer 11 November @ 01:49 PM EST

Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena, ably assisted by Assistant Head Coach Dave Sarachan, revitalized the fortunes of the once-moribund Galaxy this season and has the team in the Western Conference Final against the Houston Dynamo at 8 p.m. Friday at Home Depot Center.

And deservedly so after leading the Galaxy from worst to first in MLS and adding a second MLS Coach of the Year honor a dozen years after first claiming the award with D.

One of the big questions of the offseason, is who will be the Wizards coach next season? From time to time I have a few links that I come across and want to discuss but never get to because I just don't want to spend the time on writing a full post about it. Well hopefully I can change that a little bit and provide a quick thought and the link for you all to see. I'm trying to add new stuff to the site, little by little here, so this is an attempt.

Inter Milan at UCLA

100 Percent Soccer 17 July @ 09:43 PM EST

Crowds have apparently been steadily growing this week at UCLA as word of Inter Milan's presence on campus gets around.

Nice story here from the Daily Bruin about a Thursday scrimmage against a travel team that included the likes of U.S. Under-20 international and Bruins goalkeeper Brian Perk (as well as Kyle Nakazawa of Palos Verdes Estates).

Chivas USA-Galaxy Post-Game

100 Percent Soccer 12 July @ 02:19 AM EST

After watching the Chivas USA-Galaxy game, I have just one question: I wonder what Zinedine Zidane thought of MLS?

It was not, as Galaxy Coach Dave Sarachan conceded, "beautiful soccer."

The former U.S. National Team coach was officially introduced as the Galaxy's coach Monday.

It's a move that suggests more than a few parallels with Arena's last MLS coaching job in New York, an angle I explored in Tuesday's column.

It was a more relaxed-looking and less intense-sounding Bruce Arena who was introduced as the Galaxy's new general manager and coach this morning at Home Depot Center.

The former U.S. National Team coach and two-time MLS Cup winner with D.C. United was under no illusions about the scale of the task facing him to get the Galaxy into the playoffs.
