DCUMD 27 October @ 08:47 PM EST
Stealing on old bit from the late Big O and Dukes Show, we will spend the next month or so playing
"River or Life" with members of the DC United organization, starting with the front office, and
then moving on to the players, by position. In an offseason that is bound to include multitudes of
changes throughout the club, this will be a great way to show the team who we the fans want to see
return next year.

Seriously? "We have to determine whether we believe, for the immediate long term, if Tommy is the
guy to lead the team," Payne said. "We don't go into this with our minds made up. We want to almost
treat it like a blank slate."Ignoring the...

The 'graf about his Galaxy in his Western Conference Preview has me in tears:
There's a bit in the original "In-Laws" movie where Peter
Falk says "You know, I am such an incredible driver. It's incomprehensible to me that they
took away my license." And in response, Alan Arkin gets this wonderful expression, combining
equal parts terror, horror, and helpless rage.

At long last, Namoff is officially back in the fold for the 2009 campaign. And while we're raiding
Goff's cupboard, let's take a look at some DCU dirt he dug up from Dave Kasper. The big news? (1)
We're getting close to landing Walter Martinez and bringing Doe back. They'd both be on loan, but

last time D.

Kasper, via Goff: "I feel strongly that Tommy deserves to remain as head coach."Ruh-roh!
Let's hope his feelings don't get in the way of his reason. Tommy's teams are not consistently
motivated for big games. His pre-game tactics and team selection are reasonable, but his ability to
adapt and make in-game changes (tactical adjustments, reading the game, making the right
substitution) often fails

They're not very good. Simple as that. In recent seasons, we've seen that team takes a
while to come together and when it does, it looks like one of the greatest teams ever
seen in MLS. I'm not convinced that this will happen this year.
The problem is that this team, as we heard throughout the off-season, was assembled to win
CONCACAF.

Please indulge us some, pie-in-the-sky,"you pulled that out of thin air" speculation for
a moment.
Think about this:
