The Seattle Sounders returned to practice for the first time since their US Open Cup Semifinal
win over FC Dallas. Extraordinary weather welcomed them back to the packed Starfire Sports Complex
(Labor Day Youth Cup, as well as Sounders pre-Academy game three). The primary concern of practice
were 9 a side scrimmages of a 1st, 2nd and 3rd team with the one not playing doing finishing drills
on the far field.
My standard game review is coming tomorrow, but i wanted to get my comments on what happened to
Steve Zakuani down before MLS makes its ruling. This is a long post, so settle in. Anyone who
watched the game or any other MLS game this weekend has heard (or seen) what happened. In the 3rd
minute Brian Mullan went in two-footed on Steve Zakuani and got his leg, breaking the tibia and
fibula (both lower leg bones).

A letter from a retired FC Dallas player to FC Dallas fans. It's a wonderful look into the
emotions of a professional athlete after spending a long time in a city.
Buzz Carrick over at 3rd Degree has been doing a pretty good job at keeping up with the current
rosters for FCD. So...I thought I'd give you a heads up as well. With the latest news that FCD
has let go of Maykel Galindo and Charlie Campbell, the updated rosters look something like
this:
Senior Roster (18 to 20)
MLS rosters are expanding to 30.

One win away.
That is how close FC Dallas came winning the franchise's first MLS Cup in 2010. Fresh off its
crushing defeat to the Colorado Rapids in the final, FCD is ready to make a return run to the
championship in 2011.
Apologies I've been away for most of the winter here. Not much brewing in FCD-land over the
last month or so...but I wanted to check in and give you a recap of FCD news. And as a token of
my apology...check out the video below from the FC Dallas media department featuring the 2010
season in review.
