Hearts are close to signing Danny Wilson permanently on a long-term contract, the Evening News can reveal. Talks between player and club are at an advanced stage and both parties are near an agreement to keep the Scotland internationalist at Tynecastle. Wilson's loan from Liverpool is due to expire and his Anfield contract will not be extended into next season.
Hearts have agreed to sign the former Rangers defender Danny Wilson on loan from Liverpool until May, pending international clearance. The Scotland defender, 21, has been on loan at Bristol City recently but played only one match due to injury. He is John McGlynn's first squad addition since the Scottish Premier League relaxed Hearts' signing ban.
Danny Wilson has indicated he would be willing to stay at Hearts beyond his current loan deal from Liverpool. The 21-year-old defender joined the Jambos in January after struggling to establish himself at Anfield following a £2million move from Rangers. With his contract at Liverpool up in May, Wilson is willing to consider other opportunities and unwilling to rule out a longer stay at Tynecastle.
Liverpool U21s let a three-goal lead slip as they drew 3-3 with Chelsea in St Helens on Sunday. Scotland international Danny Wilson had a hand in the opening two goals when his headers from corners were saved, allowing first Michael Ngoo and then Jack Robinson to fire home the rebounds. Three minutes into the second half Liverpool were cruising when Krisztian Adorjan headed home a Dani Pacheco cross.

Blackpool have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool defender Danny Wilson on loan until the end of the
season.
Wilson has yet to make an impact at Anfield since his arrival from Rangers in 2010 and has made
just one appearance in the Carling Cup so far this season.
The Scotland international admitted earlier this season that he would be open to a loan move away
from Liverpool in search of regular first-team football and Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has now
decided to let him move on.

Liverpool defender Danny Wilson is hoping he's done enough to earn a starting spot for the Reds
against Chelsea in the Carling Cup.
Despite having fielded his strongest side in the competition, Dalglish is set to name a weakened
side for the trip to Stamford Bridge with the club's league game with Manchester City just 48 hours
before.
It's few and far between for the matches that actually matter this weekend, with really only one
from a Liverpool perspective, as none of the current squad members are involved in the playoffs for

It was a midseason friendly dropped in the middle of an important run of games in the league and
League Cup for Liverpool, and for all that the clubs might boast of it being a prestigious matchup
while pointing to both sides being out of Europe as a kind of justification, it never seemed a game
likely to provide much thrill and spectacle.
Lee McCulloch grabbed the only goal of the game as Rangers claimed victory over Liverpool in a
friendly at Ibrox.
Both sides used the fixture to give game time to players who have not featured as regularly as
others so far in their respective domestic campaigns.
Skipper David Weir made only his second appearance of the season for Rangers after spending the
early part of the campaign sidelined through injury, while Matt McKay was handed his first start.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway says he is unlikely to be making an imminent move to sign Liverpool
defender Danny Wilson on loan.
Holloway recently brought Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to Bloomfield Road on a temporary
basis and has been strongly linked with an offer for Wilson.

Liverpool's Danny Wilson has admitted his disappointment at falling out of favour in the
Scotland senior squad, but insists the rejection will motivate himself to do better for club and
country. Wilson is not currently a part of Kenny Dalglish's plans at Liverpool, which has led to
his exclusion from Scotland's upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Spain.
Liverpool youngster Danny Wilson insists being dropped from Scotland's senior squad has only
fuelled his desire to re-establish himself for both club and country.
After failing to win a first-team place at Anfield this season, Wilson has been left out of
Scotland's crunch Euro 2012 qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Spain.
News broke yesterday that Liverpool would be the first club in world football to be the subject
of a behind-the-scenes documentary, and there's bound to be endless curiosity about what we'll
actually learn about a club that's rediscovered a sense of privacy since the return of Kenny
Dalglish. With filming starting at the end of this season and continuing on into the start of the
next campaign, there's plenty to look forward to, including closed captioning any time Jamie
Carragher manages to find himself in front of a camera.
Kenny Dalglish was full of praise for the attitude his fringe players showed in the reserves as
they crushed Sunderland's second string 5-1.
First-team squad members Jay Spearing, Sebastian Coates, Jon Flanagan and Danny Wilson were all
part of the side watched by the Liverpool boss from the touchline at the Kirby Academy.
Jay Spearing notched a brace and Sebastian Coates fired his first goal in a red shirt as Liverpool
Reserves saw off high-flying Sunderland 5-1 in the Barclays Premier Reserve League North on Tuesday
afternoon.
The Uruguayan got the home side off to the perfect start when he stabbed home on two minutes before
Spearing thundered in the second with a brilliant effort from distance.
Liverpool's two biggest matches of the early season are divided by yet another international
break, with all of the active national sides on the continent wrapping up their Euro 2012
qualifying campaigns, and World Cup 2014 qualifiers starting nearly everywhere else. Fitness
struggles mean there's a bit less action than usual for Kenny Dalglish's side, but there's a decent
amount taking part in qualifiers or friendlies around across the globe.

Daniel Pacheco began his temporary spell at Huesca in Spain with a goal and a win, while Michael Ngoo and Andy Carroll were also on the scoresheet for their respective loan clubs.
