Who will Dallas protect this year? (Getty Images)
With the expansion draft being next week I have to pull in some two-a-days for my expansion
draft lists. Earlier today we looked at DC United's roster and who could be protected or not not
this afternoon I want to turn our attention to FC Dallas.

"Shut up Fool!"
In the world of blogging and sports media, there is no art more refined and time tested than the
systematic ridicule of a poor performing sports team. When things start to go wrong, everyone from
the owner on down to the equipment managers can be a target for the criticism of those of us who
make our way in sports forming opinions and shouting them loudly from the hilltops.

Over the last week and a half I missed out on quite a bit of stuff so I felt tonight would be a
good way to recap some things and give you all my opinion on each. We've had plenty of new players
get signed this past week, including one Designated Player...which in Major League Soccer is always
a big deal.

Beginning the first of what will hopefully become a new regular feature here on Ginge Talks the
Footy, I present "In Case You Missed It". What is the cleverly titled new piece of gold you ask?

"A tie does not break a "winless streak." It breaks a losing streak, though." -Anonymous
A tough draw for FC Dallas over the weekend. After taking the lead twice, FCD was the victim of bad
luck on a penalty call which allowed Jaime Moreno to equalize. It was Grandpa Urine's 40th match in
the charge of FC Dallas.

Week 25 was all set to be a quiet one in Major League Soccer with only three games scheduled. But
there was plenty of action, a lot of red and no fewer than eleven goals. An adequate return from
three matches, and here's my weekly MLS roundup to bring y'all up to date with the ever-bubbling
playoff race.

The American football psyche may have been dominated by the Gold Cup and the All-Star game lately,
but the relentless march of Major League Soccer continues. Week 19 got underway at Rio Tinto on
Friday, where
FC Dallas gave their hosts a fright - briefly.
Jeff Cunningham mugged
Real Salt Lake's Will Johnson on 20 yards and fired past
Nick Rimando to put FCD ahead in the 13th minute.

FC Dallas took the early road lead at Rio Tinto Stadium on Friday night, with goals from Jeff
Cunningham in the 13th and Dave van den Bergh in the 21st, only for Real Salt Lake to come roaring
back in the second-half with four unanswered goals of their own. Yura Movsisyan scored in the 55th,
Robbie Findley converted a penalty kick, Dallas' Daniel Torres got the own goal in the 88th, and
Movsisyan scored again.

As we predicted a couple weeks ago, and FCD let slip on their blog, the Red Stripes have now
officially signed Daniel Torres. While not a spring chicken anymore, Torres is still heavily
involved with his national team and has great experience in MLS and in other pro leagues. Not
notably fast, Torres does have relatively nice touch and is a solid passer.
