Fox Soccer correspondent Mauricio Cardenas is reporting, via Twitter, that Carlos Ruiz is on his
way to Mexican second division side Veracruz. Cardenas' tweet refutes what the Tiburones Rojos head
coach Daniel Guzman has stated twice in public about rumors that Ruiz is on his way to
Veracruz.
Ruiz was known to be on his way out of the Philadelphia Union as of Friday night, when Union
head coach Piotr Nowak released information concerning his transfer to reporters at the team's
post-game press conference.
Carlos Ruiz is officially leaving the Philadelphia Union, according to the team, but his
destination will not be Veracruz.
Daniel Guzman, head coach of the Tiburones Rojos (Red Sharks), once again addressed rumors that
have linked Ruiz to Veracruz, denying them outright. Back on July 19, the Brotherly Game editor
Joey Samuel reported, via a Veracruz news outlet, that Guzman had finally talked about the possible
transfer - he denied it completely.
