The Jozy Altidore Experiment: this one might work

Center Holds It 24 August @ 11:37 AM EST
One 100% heterosexual ass-tap, administered by Steve Parkin (Hull City's first-team coach), propelled Jozy Altidore into the Premier League arena for the first time. That's how we do things in England. "Get out there lad and score us a bloody goal," Parkin added. Or something like that.
Altidore didn't score a goal on his Prem debut – he replaced Caleb Folan in the 60th minute of Hull's home game v Bolton Wanderers on Saturday – but he did the next best thing in setting up team-mate Kamel Ghilas to bang in the game's only goal. Click to continue reading...

From Red Bulls to Tigers

Major League Soccer Talk 12 August @ 06:27 AM EST
Jozy Altidore is Hull City's big summer signing. The US international might only be on a season-long loan deal, but the fact the Tigers have the option of signing him permanently at the end of the campaign for £6.5m reveals the size of role that Hull boss Phil Brown envisages for the former Red Bulls hitman. Can Hull City Avoid Second Season Syndrome?

EPL Talk 10 August @ 03:08 PM EST

Looking at the predictions that are currently flooding the world of Premiership football, two teams are entrenched in a dogfight for who will finish bottom. No-one, but no-one thinks both Hull City or Burnley will stay up. One if not both of them, in the eyes of everyone think they're dead and buried before a ball is kicked.

Tigers doing the most to save themselves from extinction

EPL Talk 06 May @ 05:19 AM EST

The football season is nearly over for another year and you know you are getting down to the business end of things when talk outside the Premier League turns to the play-offs. In England's top flight there are still three games to go with essentially everything to play for. At the bottom things are as they were at the start of the weekend after everyone from 13th downwards lost.

Hull Fear Liverpool FC Striker Torres

Anfield Talk 25 April @ 04:55 AM EST
Hull manager Phil Brown believes the only way to stop Fernando Torres is to keep him off the Liverpool team sheet.
The in-form Spanish striker is Brown's main worry as he prepares his side to face the Reds at the KC Stadium today in a match which could have a major say in outcomes at either end of the Premier League table. Click to continue reading...

Hull v Liverpool - Reds’ aim for the top - for a few hours at least

SoccerLens 24 April @ 11:07 AM EST

Liverpool travel to Hull on Saturday knowing that they must win all of their remaining games if they are going to stand a chance of catching league leaders Manchester United. England's most successful team will be eager to prevent their rivals from equalling their league title record, however with United three points clear with a game in hand the chances of that happening are not high.

Blog Buddy Bullard to Hull

Never Captain Nicky Butt 23 January @ 10:28 AM EST
And there goes Fulham's Top 10 finish. Poof. Gone. The rumor has turned into reality.
Fulham stud Jimmy Bullard has officially joined Hull.

9 Reasons Why Hull City Is My New Favorite Team

EPL Talk 18 November @ 06:00 AM EST
I admit it. I have a soft spot for underdogs. Three years ago, I was enamored by Wigan's brilliant beginning to the season where they surprised so many teams and fans by playing attacking football. Two years ago, it was Reading's turn to brighten up the Premier League. Last season there was no underdog, but [. Click to continue reading...

Time To Stop Underestimating Hull City

EPL Talk 17 November @ 12:49 PM EST
So, how many people thought Hull City would be Premiership cannon fodder, this seasons Derby County, bravely battling against the odds in a futile struggle that would ultimately lead to relegation. Three Points From The Weekend

• Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the weekend was one of the games of the season so far and Arsene Wenger's side proved a lot of people wrong. Defense FC 4 - Hull City 3

The Offside: Manchester United 03 November @ 10:30 AM EST

Seriously? Three goals for Hull? At Old Trafford? Now, I understand that United has a frustrating tendency to struggle against lower ranked/newly promoted teams (granted, Hull is actually higher than us in the standings), but this game was a far different animal. Generally, we scrap out a 1-0 victory over teams like Bolton and Reading, and only manager 0-0 draws against less than intimidating opponents.

Wenger's "size matters" to be tested against the Hulk

Soccerblog 30 September @ 06:42 PM EST

Givanildo aka Hulk: Hulk Smash

My thesis is that the lack of inches on the Arsenal defense bemoaned by Wenger and Toure is a convenient excuse for the generally brain dead defending that sunk us so badly against Hull. In short we are freaked. Seriously, I hope this nonsense is not being internalized by the club players because it does not bode well.

Arsenal Stunned, As Hull’s Great Start Continues

EPL Talk 29 September @ 11:43 AM EST
Hull City arrived at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday fearing the worst. Arsenal's kids had dispatched Sheffield United 6-0 in midweek, so with the first team put back in and in good form, Hull had every right to be scared. Yet 90 minutes later they had emerged with a 2-1 victory that, if lucky at [. Click to continue reading...

Arsenal's defensive problem: Its not lack of height, its not being smart

Soccerblog 29 September @ 10:43 AM EST

Its difficult swallowing losses to Fulham and now Hull. Especially after that wonderful mid week dismantling of Sheffield Utd at the hands of the youngsters.

Admittedly the goals that sunk the Gunners were top notch. Almunia, even if he had morphed into a giant octopus with flailing tentacles, would have had a tough time keeping Geovanni and Daniel Cousin from the back of the net.

Hull beats Arsenal (EPL round-up)

The Beautiful Game (2) 28 September @ 11:05 AM EST
After the offensive explosion that has been the Gunners the last couple weeks, I don't think anyone saw this coming at the Emirates.

Hull City: Probably Not the New Derby County

I'll bet Arsene Wenger woke up in a cold sweat this morning, looked around his bedroom and said (in French) "Oh, thanks goodness, it was all just a bad dream." Hull see off the might of Arsenal

Hull City have this evening beaten the might of Arsenal in their own backyard. It is, undoubtedly the result of this season's Premier League and Hull manager Phill Brown can take a tremendous amount of credit for it.
