Kaká battles it out
A second-half goal by Nilmar was the difference in a forgettable match between Brazil and
England in Qatar on Saturday.
The Villarreal man struck in the first minute of the second period after heading in a lovely
floated ball from ex Manchester City player, Elano.

The meeting of one great footballing mind and Dunga
Brazil take on England in Doho, Qatar, for the first of three international friendlies before
the World Cup finals in South Africa next year.
Dunga's men see the England game as a real test against one of their main contenders in the
competition in 2010.

Dunga announced today the players who will play the last 2 matches of the year (against England
and Oman). And he had a few surprises. Given that he decided not to call players from Brazilian
clubs (and therefore was unable to call Adriano and Diego Tardelli), he called forward Hulk. But he
wasn't the only surprise.

Pep Guardiola cannot believe it either.
After a workmanlike 1-0 victory against AlmerÃa and a mediocre showing in their 0-0 draw at the
Mestalla against Valencia CF on Saturday, FC Barcelona looked to reverse their form in the
Champions League against a supposed weaker team in FK Rubin Kazan.

This is a bit late, but necessary. Brazil lost the final of the U20, but the result was just a
detail (besides the fact that young Brazilian squads always lose to African nations). The real
question is: what can we expect of those players in the future?
Possibly, 1 or 2 will be adult World Cup material (in my opinion, one of them will be
Giuliano).

There's nothing that can be demanded from Dunga and his players.
The team was already qualified, which turned the match against Bolivia into a open lab in the
skies. The skies of La Paz took the reserve side of Brazil closer to hell than heaven. The 3600
meters above sea level suffocated the players.

Down and out in La Paz
A lacklustre Brazil went down 2-1 in La Paz against Bolivia and so ended Dunga's team's 19 game
unbeaten run.
Olivares and Marcelo Moreno had given the homeside a two-goal cushion before  Nilmar pulled one
back in the second-half. The combination of high altitude and poor attitude meant that Brazil
rarely threatened and the whole match had that ‘end of season' feel to it.

Blue is the colour
For their penultimate game in the WC qualifiers, Brazil take on Bolivia in La Paz and Dunga is
expected to make changes from his regular starting line-up. With Kaká, Gilberto Silva and Luis
Fabiano all rested, the coach could test Josué, Miranda, and Diego Souza. The latter two have had
good seasons for São Paulo and Palmeiras respectively but have yet to secure a place in the squad
for next year's finals.

Crazy story. And the rich winger has to get healthy first.
A source close to the squad is quoted as saying, "Ronaldo has been told to learn from
Barcelona players Lionel Messi and Daniel Alves.
"When they are fouled, they go down like they are shot."
But I guess that could depict the difference between the English and Spanish versions of the game.

Now would be the ideal time for Dopey to experiment seeing how the seleção
have already qualified for the World Cup. What we don't get, however, is tio's love for

Anyway, the squad for the remaining qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia has been finalised
and it's nice to see Naldo and Diego Souza back again.

in La Paz on October 11th and Venezuela in Campo Grande three days later.
Brazil are leaders with 33 points and have already qualified for the finals in South Africa next
year. With this in mind, Dunga was expected to bring in some fresh faces for the remaining two

It was honours even at San Siro as Barcelona were held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan in a
match the European champions dominated but failed to crown with a goal their performance
deserved.
The Spanish outfit created numerous chances to break the deadlock, particularly in the first
half, the best of which fell to Zlatan Ibrahimović, who was unable to score against the side he
left in the summer.

With Brazil qualified to the World Cup, the match against Chile was going to be important for 2
reasons: 1)add another victory to the incredible sequence of 18 undefeated matches; 2) test new
players to join the group of 23 going to South Africa.
For that, Brazil came with the following formation: Júlio César; Maicon, Luisão, Miranda,
André Santos; Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo, Daniel Alves, Júlio Baptista; Nilmar, Adriano.

Nilmar scores three against Chile
Even without the suspended Luis Fabiano, Brazil still managed to find the net four times against
a spirited Chile in Salvador on Wednesday night.
All eyes had been on Flamengo man, Adriano, but it was Villarreal's recent acquisition, Nilmar,
who put away three of Brazil's goals.

Surprises are the return of Adriano, who even fat is the top striker scorer of Campeonato
Brasileiro, the return of Lucas, from Liverpool, and the new chance for left-back Filipe LuÃs.
Miranda, the best defender in Brazil, was called one more time. Pato was left out again, a clear
sign that Dunga is not happy with him after the striker's disappointing performances at the
Olympics and the Confederations Cup.

LuÃs Fabiano scores against Estonia
Brazil made hard work of a testy match against Estonia in Tallinn. In the end, a late first-half
