In tribute to some little heroes
HE'D JUST set up the winning goal and was standing with the goalscorer, in front of the Sky
reporter, ready to hand him the man of the match champagne – but Charlie Adam had one thing he
really wanted to say. "I'd like to dedicate the win to Brad Jones who had a difficult week losing
his son.

A minute's silence was held prior to Melbourne Victory's league fixture vs. Perth Glory this
weekend, after it was announced that Luca Jones, son of Socceroo's goalkeeper Brad Jones
(above), had passed away.
Luca, who was five-years-old, had been battling leukaemia for eighteen months.

Transfer Window
Transfer window open is as wonderful as it is stressful for every football fan. Never do I check
my phone for updates more regularly each day, never do I groan and moan and exalt at the suggestion
of transfers, 97% of which will never happen, than now. While my teams (me being the type to have a
side in pretty much every country in the world.
The first 2 days have been not only beautiful but produced some great soccer action for the lady
warriors. The first match pitted Sodium against the always solid Ireland squad. Midway through the
second half Irelands talented Jill Farley drew first with a strike to make it 1-0. Moments later
Sodium answered the challenge with Dani finding the net to even the match for the duration.

It's Wednesday, the 2011 Champions League Final kicks off in 4 days and it's certain that
numerous thoughts will be troubling the great minds of Alex Ferguson and
Pep Guardiola night and day. One of the greatest concerns will be United's choice
for the right-back position whilst Barcelona has a dilemma with left-backs.
After shaking the rust off and clearing the cobwebs from spring break, Sodium exploded for 4
unanswered goals against Pacific FC Avalanche 95 in the second half. The scoring began as Aliyah
blasted the net during a scrum in the 6-yard box. This was followed by a deep penetration down the
right side and a beautiful Aliyah cross to an awaiting Dani for a 2-0 lead.
For the first time in La Liga's history a goalkeeper scored from open play – and possibly saved
Deportivo's coach from the sack.
Goooooooool de Dani Aranzubia! Depor's keeper heads into history books.
Here is the video of Goalkeeper DANI ARANZUBIA scoring the equalizer for DEPORTIVO in the 95th min
against ALMERIA. It was a Round 24 match of the Spanish Football League - La Liga & Almeria was
about to take the victory with a 1 - 0 lead. The Deportivo goalkeeper kicks out of this area &
flies the ball into the Almeria goal area were it gets an Almeria deflection & onto to a last
corner for
Not much action for the Boro thanks to waterlogged pitches again, so I thought I would give a
mention of the excellent Scarborough Under 16's girls team who play in the 'City of York Girl's
football league'. Last week the team increased their lead at the top of the league with an excellent 10-1 victory
over their opponents 'Tockwith'.
..... and the star of the game was "Arsene" Wenger, in my own opinion. It was one more game that we
feel that the coach was the most important element of the team, and he moved the players right and
left as he was playing a chess game ..
One of the lessons of this game, that if you had the chance to kill the other team, don't waste it,
do it now.
Valentine's Day Irony.
How ironic is it that it had to be the man who has declared Jose Mourinho public enemy no.1 in the
Spanish Coaching Community who would gift Mourinho such a lovely pre-Valentine's Day Gift. Marca's
cover last Sunday said it all: a gift of 2 La Liga points from Sporting Gijon Coach and Super-Mario
lookalike Manuel Preciado to Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho.

The answer to that is "almost, but not quite". To begin with, there were nearly no games played
this round after the threatened strike action by the Spanish football players' association, the
AFE.
