If you believe what you hear - and what you saw against Fulham - you'll probably believe the wolves
are at the door for Señor Benitez. However, I'll try to put things in perspective without using an
array of cringe-worthy Halloween puns.
What happened against Fulham was a disaster, and a game we shouldn't have lost going into.

Looks like if some Liverpool fans are given the powers, they will sack Rafa Benitez immediately.
The reason? Because we are not at the top of the table at the moment, we have not won all the games
we have played so far this season, and we have not won our games by a 5 goals margin, all scored
from 20 yards I suppose.

Â
Much has been made of the demise of Leeds United AFC. We are all familiar with the tale of gross
overspending, Ridsdale's goldfish, and a descent into the third tier of English football. Football
supporters have little sympathy for a club that reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League
in 2001 and are now playing in League One due to its own negligence.

Liverpool fans have suffered from nineteen years of heartbreak without winning the league and
this season the reds fans believe this drought will come to an end.
They've seen their fierce rivals Man Utd creep up and equal their record of being the
champions of England and they will do anything they can to stop them overtaking them and that means
securing the league this upcoming season.

Stuart Holden is the latest person to come up with his Ultimate XI for the New York Times as seen
at this link. Stuart is a 23-year-old midfielder for the Houston Dynamo and played for the United
States last summer at the Olympics in Beijing. He comes up with a much more diverse team then other
people who have played along and written this article for the Times, and this is more like the
articles that are run in the English magazine Four Four Two, where the article originally ran.

He could be one of the greatest players in the history of the club, he's that good.
Dave Usher tries to make Javier Mascherano blush.
Two down, one (or is it two?) to go. First, Thaksin Shinawatra faced up to facts and sold up at
Manchester City. Then Mike Ashley announced last night that he is looking to sell Newcastle United.

While I still believe Keane and Torres will likely make our best strikeforce since Rush and
Dalglish, Keane has yet to make much of an impact with us. It's called a bedding in period, it's
perfectly normal.
LFC have confirmed that Torres hamstring injury will keep him out for at least a few weeks, which
means no Torres for the match against Manchester United.

LIVERPOOL fans are holding their breath over the signing of Robbie Keane. He's a
good player, possibly a very good player. The former Crumlin United (Dublin) striker may even
blossom into a world class player alongside Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres. And, there's a
strong argument that Torres needs a fleet-footed playmaker snapping at the heels of defenders.

Robbie Keane and Fernando Torres are likely to form the most potent strike partnership we've had
since Dalglish and Rush. Torres has his awesome 'bounce song', Robbie is deserving of his own
too.
I think it's fair to say that Scousers can be counted on to come up with a cool new song rather
than sing a Manchester United 'song' (the mere thought of the Kop singing there's only one Keano
makes me cringe).

IT was one of the greatest 'team' goals ever - Dalglish to Johnson, Heighway cross,
McDermott far post, GOAL! Liverpool only drew 2-2 against Tottenham at the weekend, but
here's a chance for Reds to relive one of Anfield's most memorable league games thanks to
YouTube...

THE first big transfer of my childhood was Kevin Keegan to Hamburg SV in 1977 - just weeks
after helping the Reds win the European Cup in Rome. I couldn't understand what was going
on. Why would anyone want to leave Liverpool FC? Why would Liverpool want to get rid of Keegan?
Before I'd worked out the answers, Kenny Dalglish was revealed as our new striker.

JACK finished the Summer Fun Run like a train along with his mates, each delighted with
their shiny medals and bottles of water with dinky sports caps. We had around 1,000
runners in total and the weather held out and, as Jack composed himself after the three-mile jog,
he said: 'Dad, I could do it again you know. I could.' The Gaffer adopted a more sedate approach
due to the fact that young Paddy (he's only two) came to a grinding halt shortly after passing the
start line and needed carting round.

JACK'S counting the hours to one of the highlights of his year. The Summer Fun Run
on Sunday will see 1,000 runners of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities come together for a
three-mile jog or walk in Crosby village. It's the fifth annual event, although it incorporates the
ten-mile 'Crosby 10' which began in 1983, and each year it has grown, raising thousands of pounds
for charity and putting the town under the media spotlight.
