King has vaulted to the top of the rogues gallery with his second conviction. The first one
occurred in 2002 for stealing a car and then pretending to the police it was his own. That time too
he was given 18 months in jail which was commuted to five, enabling his return to Gillingham.
E' ufficiale.
Click to continue reading...

For the record, I wanted to thank Kartik Krishnaiyer for calling my ¨wise¨ words ¨prophetic¨.
It is cool to have a colleague recognize you that way, but I can't take all the credit. I also have
to give credit to my friend Ibrahim Dabo. For years, he is the one that told me that the Pharoahs

The past few days have seen the headlines, perhaps not dominated, but certainly bothered by
two tackles. Both resulted in straight reds, both came when the game was already dead and buried,
but neither bore any resemblance whatsoever to the other.
It is difficult to envisage two players with less in common than Joey Barton and Darren
Fletcher.
When I saw Newcastle United's lineup today before their 3-0 loss to Liverpool, I said aloud:
Joey Barton's going to get a red card. I only meant it to elicit a laugh from friends, but
with Newcastle's fate in the balance and Barton's famous temper in mind, I had a vision of Barton
heading for the showers a bit earlier than his co-workers.
Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has been banned for 12 games, six of them suspended, for
attacking a team mate while at former club Manchester City.
Barton received his punishment, which takes immediate effect, at a Football Association
disciplinary hearing on Friday after admitting a charge of violent conduct against Ousmane
Dabo.
Joseph Anthony Barton. I feel the need to 'middle name' him as that is what his mother would have
done if he was ever in trouble as a child. Therefore, I actually suspect that he was called Joseph
Anthony a lot more than he was called simply Joey. The thing is though, that most children, after
being discipline learned from there errors, feared punishment, before reforming by the time they
leave home. Click to continue reading...
Before attacking a teenager on the streets of Liverpool, Joey Barton let loose on his
then-Manchester City team-mate Ousmane Dabo, and originally protested that he had given the
Frenchman a good hiding for his own self-defence. The Newcastle midfielder has now admitted he was
guilty and has got away with . Click to continue reading...

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan says that when Joey Barton is released from prison he will be given

Yes, it is that special time again. No, I'm not talking about the transfer window or the upcoming
start of domestic leagues. I'm talking about another round of Joey Barton-bashing. After receiving
a four month suspended sentence (does anyone actually go to jail in the UK?) for his assault on
then-teammate Ousmane Dabo during training at Manchester City, Newcastle would seemingly love to Click to continue reading...

Pillow-biting jailbird and professional bell-end Joey Barton was yesterday given an ultimatum by Newcastle big cheese Mike Ashley that he must either take a £30,000-a-week pay cut or face being sacked. Now considering the circumstances, this sounds like an incredibly reasonable offer; in virtually any other profession on the planet, you would just instantly be sacked if you had such a brush with the law, so why do footballers get special treatment? The Major League Soccer in the United States of America is not as popular as some of the renowned
European leagues like the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga or Italian Serie A. However since
it's inception in 1996, there has been a steady growth over time. African players have also
contributed significantly towards this trend. Goal.com's Africa Editor Ibrahim Dabo traveled to Columbus, Ohio, on a fact-finding mission with
one of the MLS clubs, Columbus Crew, and gives a summary account of what he found. Click to continue reading...
