Although it hardly qualified as a secret that Toronto was hot on the trail of Predrag (as
opposed, I guess, to POSTdrag) Whats-his-face (AKA Sensei Preki), nonetheless, credit where credit
is due it was the esteemed Ives Galarcep who first posted that it was a done deal.
(Apparently Mo Johnston is taking the approach that hey, if you can't beat 'em then you might as
well kick, trip, gouge and punch 'em.

Well, I'm at home for reasons that would bore the hell out of you, might as well fake liveblog
it.
Preceding program - Who Killed the USFL? Fascinating. Probably not what an MLS fan wants to
see.
Wow, a sellout! I mean, David Beckham. Not attendance. I talk a lot about how illegitimate Chivas
USA is, how bad they are for MLS, how bad they are for soccer, and what a great day it will be when
they finally dry up and blow away.

Salt Lake v. Chivas USASalt Lake OWES the Eastern Conference. And oh by the way, they've been playing better than anyone
actually in the Eastern Conference. They didn't back in to the playoffs either, like last year's
Western Conference champs. This isn't out of the realm of possibility.

The men's college soccer season is nearing the postseason, and with it comes the Ratings
Percentage Index (RPI). In the second installment, released earlier this week, Akron found itself
in ranked third despite their outstanding 15-0 record. Wake Forest and UCLA sit ahead of the Zips,
who are certainly punished for playing weaker opponents in the Mid-American Conference.

Move over, Silky Johnson:
I'm going for Hater of the Year. And I don't care how many five-year-old-plus jokes I have to
reference to get there.
Okay, the Western Conference race this year. I don't know who's actually going to win - probably
Houston, but LA holds every tiebreaker, and CUSA has a game in hand, and I think Seattle still has
a shot.

Talking with Josh over at thecup.us about the U-20 World Cup, and how many freaking college kids
the US is fielding. Here's a comparison of club affiliations of a few teams in the tournament.
Spoiler on today's game at the bottom.
GERMANY:
Goalkeepers: Manchester United, Hamburg, Bremen.

Sacha Kljestan did the impossible over the weekend. He got me to cheer for Chivas USA making the
playoffs. Hell, I hope they win MLS Cup now.
Wait! I can explain!
Sorry, another Rocky Horror reference. I should stop that.
In the rapid-fire interview FSC does, "Six Impossible Questions Before Halftime," Sacha Kljestan
was asked, "What would you do if you were commissioner for a day?

Need to start off with an apology. It turns out my strident recommendation of the Sounders-Reds
game turned out about as well as the time I did a Google search for erotica about Snuffy the
Pedestrian.*
Anyway, let's talk about a term from TV Tropes called the Crowning Moment of Awesome.
No, this isn't about David Beckham.

Title's not a Red Bulls stadium reference.
So over the past week, #1 in the East defeated #1 in the West. However you feel about the actual
result, I think we can all agree that Chicago and Chivas USA were pretty much equal. Not a lot of
daylight between them. Let's say for the sake of argument Chicago's a little better.
