Last year you could argue that with West Brom, Stoke and Hull were the favorites to go down,
however Newcastle and Middlesbrough filled their places. Were they too good to go down? Maybe, but
there are 10 good teams above these two, who made a hash of it even more.
10. Reading, 2007/08
They say the second season is the most tricky for a newly promoted club.

With more than a half season in Coca Cola Championship gone, a lot of managers have been victimized
by their clubs. In the low patience era among the low tiers, none of the managers are given enough
time to prove their worth. there were a lot of hot benches this autumn , some of the [...]

ESPN is reporting in this article that Gianfranco Zola is emerging as the favorite to replace Alan
Curbishley as manager of West Ham United. I must admit that I am amazed that West Ham would be able
to interest a man like Zola in their managing position. I realize that West Ham are a fairly
successful mid-level Premiership club, but what does Zola hope to accomplish with this move beyond
managing the club for a couple of seasons in the hope of moving onto a bigger club?

Here is a link to another really good article by Tony Cascarino, the former Republic of Ireland
forward from the London Times. Tony provides a good account of why Alan Curbishley had no chance of
success at West Ham United and how now was the best time for him to leave.
The London Times also provides a listing of the candidates that West Ham are looking at to replace
Curbishley.

You guide a team to their best start in the English Premiership for 9 years (granted it is early in
the season) and what do you do... well why not quit the club. When you examine the details though
as explained in this article by ESPN, you can understand why Alan Curbishley resigned from West Ham
United.

Those inconsiderate bastards. I had this column written not once, but twice,
before the Day of the Long Knives. You've already forgotten about Blackburn, I know, so you're
wanting to know about Curbishley and the high class boardroom operatives at the Boleyn.

I know it's only two games into the Premiership season but you can't help speculating who will be
the first manager to get the big El Bow.
Alan Cubishley has to be a hot favorite. The Hammers poor start, coupled with an indifferent season
last year are likely to be making him feel very insecure, whatever he says.

As Man City go into meltdown, many contentious issues are thrown up: the owner even being allowed
to be the owner, the state of the finances, the rumours of loans to pay player wages and, of
course, the murmurings of Spurs taking them to court. The most worrying though is that of Mark

It really is a joke that the best that MLS could come up with in terms of opposition for their
All-Stars is West Ham United, a mid-table team from the English Premier League. West Ham have some
very good players and probably will have a good year in the Premier League, especially as Alan
Curbishley is a very good manager.

Arsenal are set to play an exciting match on Saturday as they take on West Ham, the only team ever
to beat Arsenal at the Emirates. West Ham are something of a bogey team for the Gunners, having won
their last 4 Premiership meetings, and Arsenal will not be happy if they lose to recently departed
Freddy Ljungberb. However, Arsene Wenger's boys will be heavy favorites to win this match,
especially
