It's Time for the Hunt Sports Group to Leave MLS

Ginge Talks The Footy 17 November @ 10:43 PM EST
I'm not a Columbus Crew supporter. I don't live in Ohio...but I do follow Major League Soccer and i've watched more than a few Crew matches over the past two seasons. I've seen the Crew go from laughing stock of the league to MLS Cup Champions. While there were several factors that helped turn the club around and change their fortunes, there is no doubt that Guillermo Barros Schelotto was a huge part of that success. With Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni locked at 0 Bundesliga goals this season, some Bayern fans will probably welcome this opportunity to escape into nostalgia for a short while.

In 1974 Gerd Müller succeeded where Michael Ballack had failed in 2002 and won the Bundesliga, Champions Cup (Champions League) and the World Cup.

Are. You. Kidding. Me?

The Fake Sigi Schmid Blog 19 September @ 07:28 PM EST
Some games you win. Some games you lose. Some games you lose when you should have won, and visa versa. And some games, like today's game between us and Chivas, are games when you should hide in an ally and lie in wait. And when the other team walks by, you knock it out with chroloform, throw it in the trunk of your car, drive it into the mountains, and leave it where nobody will ever, ever find it. For all of the praise that Bob Bradley has gotten and deserved for his win in Switzerland (breaking a 5 game European losing streak), 2007 Gold Cup champions, wins against Egypt and Spain, and 2009 Confederation Cup runners-up, he has gotten condemned for unimaginative performances against El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Trinidad and Tobago in World Cup Qualifying.

List of MLS Players Who Never Played a Competitive Game (Incomplete)

Climbing the Ladder 08 September @ 05:26 AM EST
This list is incomplete. All of these players were signed to an official team roster, but didn't play in a competitive game (regular season, playoffs, Open Cup, Champions League, etc).
For now, I've gone through the end of season rosters for 2004-2007. Some players may have been on the roster for part of the season and then waived, so they'd be missing if that's the case. Click to continue reading...
