Evra's hand moved back and to the left. Back. And to the left. Theres no way that happens naturally. No way that happens if you're only dealing with Suarez in front of him. Which can only mean one thing: There was a second man behind the grassy knoll. And the FA don't want you to know about it...

Andy Johnson finally has his big Fulham moment

Andy Johnson's hat-trick and ongoing contract talks got me thinking. Should we renew? Tough call, but my instinct is that if we do it should be very much on our terms. He's been a good player to have around, but the time he's spent off the pitch should be a red herring flag (herring indeed!

For the second straight year, the Maranatha Baptist women's soccer program has a new career goal-scoring leader.

This time, though, it looks as if the mark will stand for a while.

Junior forward Karis Rogers had a hat trick in a 4-2 win over host Northland International last Tuesday in Dunbar, moving past Elise Jones' previous record of 44 goals.

It has been a summer of poor career decisions but, in football terms, if there was to be a winner for this particular award over the last three months, it would be difficult to argue against the winner of said award being Mark Hughes. Hughes departed from Craven Cottage at the start of the summer, according to common belief in full anticipation of landing the then-vacant managerial position at Aston Villa, only for Villa to decide that he wasn't the man for them and award the position to Alex McLeish instead.

The news came through like a bolt from the blue. Suddenly, and with a great deal of warning, the Rugby Football League announced this morning that Crusaders RFLC had withdrawn their application to play in the Super League from 2012 to 2014. The club's website had been taken down (although it is back up and running this evening) and angry supporters of the club were wondering exactly how and why it could be that a club that was purchased from administration as recently as November of last year could be at the brink of closing down.

New Fulham signing John Arne Riise has expressed disappointment that Liverpool did not press harder to sign him before he made the move to Craven Cottage.
Kenny Dalglish is thought to be in the market for a left-back following the sale of Paul Konchesky to Leicester, with Aly Cissokho of Lyon heavily linked to Anfield.

A nice enough evening stroll for the men in white. It wasn't especially pretty or effective, but a 7-1 aggregate win is emphatic enough.

The goals were all fairly routine and made us wonder why there weren't more of them. For 1-0 AJ slipped through, and calmly finished, for 2-0 Senderos sent Duff scampering clear, and he calmly finished, then Zamora scored at the far post to make it three, then Sidwell overcame a serious case of finishing yips to make it four.

Not that it was a particularly easy ride, but Fulham put themselves in a strong position to finish off their second Europa League qualifier tie against Crusaders at the Cottage by way of a 3-1 win in Belfast last night.

Matthew Briggs tonked in the opener for Fulham from range, though Timmy Adamson drew the Northern Irish semi-pros level after pulling the ball down from the ether, juggling it over his marker and then applying a smart, volleyed finish ten minutes after the interval.

A good workout for the men in white. Crusaders were competent, but not so competent that the result was ever really in doubt.

Fulham took a while to get going, Matthew Briggs' goal giving us a valuable breakthrough. The ball was cleared to the edge of the area, Briggs got there first and took a swing, the ball flew into the top corner as if it had just left the boot of Roberto Carlos.

We have been paying close attention to the goings-on at Wrexham Football Club over the last few months, and have decided to bring together all of the articles on the subject for quick and hopefully easy reference. Mistrust had been building between the supporters of the club and the owners for some considerable time, and November saw a story that proved to be a portent for what would come to follow over the next six months, as various speculators locked horns with the club's supporters trust for ownership of the oldest professional football club in Wales.

Going into tonights match aganst Altrincham, Wrexham FC had won five matches in a row in the league, lifting them to fourth place in the table and, while they may have left things a little too late to be able to launch a challenge for the title itself for this season, a place in the play-offs is firmly within their grasp and should they continue the sort of form that they have shown of late they would fancy their chances against anybody come the end of the season.

Wrexham FC theoretically owns its home of one hundred and thirty-eight years, but ownership now seems to be set to passed to a holding company called Wrexham Village a couple of years ago.
