I don't know about anyone else, but it kinda frustrates me when I watch football matches in the
Premier League and I hear commentators and the like praising a player or stating how important he
is... yet in my opinion that said player is actually massively over-rated, and rarely contributes
much to a game at all.
Arsene Wenger announced the other day that Nicklas Bendtner is set to leave Arsenal in the next few
days, and all reports have indicated that he has been in talks with both Stoke City and Newcastle
United. But this morning it has been reported that Stoke are close to signing the Tottenham striker
Peter Crouch [.
The three of us can reckonThat the Champions' League would beckon If we could only score some
goals. How many straws can you clutch at the same time? And how many straws if successfully
clutched will keep you afloat? There are plenty of straws in the wind, but some are more elusive
than others. The first straw was that if we won all three of our last fixtures everything would
magically come

On this week's football review we feature Manchester United, Tottenham and some fan trouble in
North Africa. You can listen to these and other stories on our weekly podcast and can find
explanations of key vocabulary in bold below.
How are you feeling today? Depressed? Disappointed? Angry? Experiencing the feeling that only a
4-0 hammering can bring? I'm assuming it's a mixture of all four but it really shouldn't be.
There are pro's and con's of being a know-it-all. The con's are you spend the day you write a
piece about how it's not really possible for this Spurs side to beat what's a very good Real Madrid
side being told you're overly pessimistic and you don't have a clue because they're not as good as
Inter Milan and we beat them.
Oh no Harry, not Peter CrouchAnyone but Crouchy I spent all last week in Madrid checking out the
'Irish Rover' for my fellow fans, No, don't thank me, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it.
In my spare time I investigated the ticket situation and posted on various sites how to go about
getting one.
I don't really need to write much about this lad. Over the past year he's proven himself to be one
of the best Fantasy Premier League players around. He's cheap as chips (6.9M) and hasn't started in
the league since ... Continue reading →
We football fans are a funny bunch. Most of us have our little idiosyncrasies and superstitions
when it comes to our favourite teams and what we believe will help them win. Some of us have our
lucky pants or can only sit in a certain position while a game's on TV. There are those who go out
of their way to do the same thing for every game even if that means disrupting their normal
life.
Creator and scorer celebrating
The way which Tottenham have gone about their business in the Champions League is wonderful.
Instead of watching a lifeless match at the San Siro, we got to see Tottenham win away from home in
their fearless and adventurous style.
While the final score was 1-0, Tottenham were continuously working the ball in from the flanks,
exploiting AC Milan's weak fullbacks.
Hey diddle diddleThe cat and the fiddleThe cow jumped over the MoonThe little dog laughedTo see
such fun and Peter Crouch scored a timely second Premiership goal to win the game at Blackburn and
in the process ruined my 0-0 forecast. Just when you thought you could rely on him not to score
what does he go and do?
What do want? A striker. When do we want him? Now. If Harry was trying to finally convince Daniel
Levy that we need a striker by starting with Crouch and keeping him on for 90 minutes then I think
his cunning plan succeeded. I was convinced several months ago. Sir Alec, Vidic and Ferdinand must
have had a group hug when they saw the team-sheet.
I didn't write a match preview for yesterday's game because I didn't want to jinx it. I started
to write one on Sunday morning but realised I was talking about how this was not only our best
chance in ages but on our home patch we could end United's unbeaten run and do so quite easily.
