As the Thierry Henry story rumbles on into its fourth day, a story is starting to break which
might begin to put it into perspective. It is a story that is breaking from Germany and involves
the arrest of seventeen people in connection with what would be the biggest, most systematic
match-fixing ring that European football has ever seen.

Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie headed to Serbia earlier this week to get 'special' treatment
for the torn ligaments in his ankle.
We didn't actually follow RVP all the way over, but our Eastern European correspondent (Croatian
if you must ask) insists that this is exactly how Serbian witchdoctors administer placenta
treatments to patients.

Eduardo da Silva is confident of filling the void left by injured Arsenal teammates Robin van
Persie and Nicklas Bendtner.
Eduardo replaced Bendtner in the 3-0 win over Tottenham and missed a couple of good chances to
chalk up a first strike since mid-September.
The Croatian, though, would be entitled to feel somewhat aggrieved not to have been credited with
Arsenal's second goal at Wolves, when his chip was deflected in off defender Jody Craddock, and he
remains confident the rewards of continued hard work will come.

Wow, waking up just to see all those journalists crying on how Bilic (or Markovic rather) picks
his friendlies ain't the best way to start the morning. But seriously though, the journalism in
Croatia is rubbish. Like fast food. It's all around, lacks the attention & nutrition of a real
meal, and in the end will leave you plunging the nearest available restroom.

Here are the highlights of that inspirational comeback by Arsenal against Standard Liege on
Wednesday. The Gunners were 2-0 down after 5 minutes at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne, and looked as
if they had no chance of getting anything out of the game. However, Arsenal fought back, as
Bendtner scored just before half time, Thomas Vermaelen equalized in the 78th minute, and Croatian
striker Eduardo completed the comeback in the 81st minute.

Eduardo scored the winner in Arsenal's victory.
Arsenal were under the gun early as Belgian side Standard Liege jumped to a 2-0 lead after only
five minutes. It was a nightmare start for young Italian keeper Vito Mannone. Not that the goals
were his fault but two goals conceded in five minutes is a horrible start for any keeper.

Chelsea may have just been handed a controversial transfer ban for illegally signing an under-18
player, but that's not stopping them from using their money to buy more under-18s. This time,
though, Chelsea are doing things right - not only do the Blues have the blessings of their new
signing's club, but Croatian club Inter Zapresic say that Chelsea have saved them from financial
failure.

Take back your boos, England fans Arsenal striker Eduardo has had his two-match ban for an alleged

that they could not prove that the Croatian international had deliberately deceived the referee
after the Gunners appealed.

tomorrow against Standard Liege.
Following the news, the Croatian told the club's official website:
I'm very pleased that we have finally arrived at the truth,
All we needed to do was to prove what happened and we have managed to do that.

Wenger makes a valid point on the culture of simulation.
Wenger has conceded the striker exaggerated his fall, but he still believes Celtic
goalkeeper Artur Boruc made contact with Eduardo and a penalty was justified.
'Eduardo made a bit more of it but watch the television and it is part of the game,' said the
Arsenal manager.

At least I'm guessing that's the case given the two communities are the epicenters of the
English and Croatian ex-pat communities respectively in Southern California after England 's 5-1
win over Croatia today that earned them a World Cup berth.
All is not lost for the Croats, however, and England can help by beating Ukraine next month.

Some moments are never meant to be forgotten. The entire world of football witnessed one such

As our currently absent Miss Spur alluded to some time ago, Niko Kranjcar finally completed his
move to Spurs yesterday. It's a Croatian to replace a Croatian by the looks of things after Luka
Modric picked up a significant injury at the weekend.
After being linked with a number of targets on deadline day, some good and some worryingly bad,
we ended up with just the one signing and probably the best of the bunch at that.

If you are Paul Hart - by far the bookies' favorite to become the first sacked manager in the
Premier League this season - you would need a miracle to save Portsmouth from relegation at this

There are many things you can admire about Arsène Wenger, one of the best managers to grace the
Premier League, but there are also many reasons not to, as many will point out that the Arsenal
boss is a bad loser. More than a bad loser.
Arsenal were the better team on the day, but Wenger's latest claims of cheating, accusing a
certain player as someone 'who plays only to make fouls' and anti-football were just bitter and
wrong.

Time for Harry to raid Fratton Park again?
Even though Portsmouth have now successfully been taken over by Sulaiman Al-Fahim it seems that
the club may still see a few faces leave the club and one of those faces may well be Niko Kranjcar

heart of the team in the past year.
