Has Ronaldo Burned His Bridges With Us?

3

Say what you like about United the brand, but the heart of United the club and it's support, is working class and they don't take too kindly to players that make more in a week than they do in a decade, claiming they're slaves and generally behaving like complete idiots.

That's what we were subjected to over the Summer by Ronaldo and it looks to have caused a nice rift between him and sections of the United faithful.

Week One Round Up – Chelsea rampant; Manchester United not so

0
IT might be slightly premature to crown Luiz Felipe Scolari's side champions after just one game, but Chelsea's 4-0 demolition of FA Cup winners Portsmouth on Sunday has indicated just how strong they are – and how big the gulf between the Big Four and the rest of the league is. In fact, how big [. Click to continue reading...

Ronaldo Is Every Gay Man’s Dream

9
Ahead of Manchester United's opening game of the season, Cristiano Ronaldo has added another award to the collection, pipping David Beckham and The Village People to the prize. "Ronaldo's ripped body, slicked-back hair, shiny white teeth and jewellery swung the votes his way. He looks like any gay man or woman's dream. Click to continue reading...

All You Need is Cash

Apologies for starting this year's Bundesliga blog off with an entry based on ugly rumours (by which I mean allegations and not ex-British PM Tony Blair's ill-fated Stones-esque college band).
Since Euro 2008 ended, I've been feeding my soccer hunger by trawling my favourite sites for any morsel of information that can keep me sated. Click to continue reading...

Premiership Preview–1. Manchester United

The two-time defending champion of England and current champion of Europe experienced quite the drawn-out saga this summer, as there were times when it seemed certain that Cristiano Ronaldo, the most talented player in the world, would be leaving Old Trafford for Real Madrid. Robinho estalla

0
Click to continue reading...

The transfer window that wasn't

By Smoods, proper Brit.

Welcome to the first of many postings on Soccer Source dedicated to English Premier League. I'll be doing what I can to help our esteemed site host and bring a truly British flavor to the site. Without further ado, let's start the first part of our two-part review of the transfer business this summer. Click to continue reading...

A MATTER OF RESPECT - "ROBINHO NO ES COBARDE"

2
As a Madridista I'm already experiencing withdrawal from having to accept the fact that Robson de Souza "ROBINHO" will be taking his 'fantasy futbol' skills to Chelsea. Still, although I'm upset, I realize I'm not upset at ROBINHO, I'm upset at CALDERON and Mijatovic. As a man, I recognize that when Calderon, who had been delaying and delaying all season, suddenly went back on his word to renegotiate Robinho's contract at the end of last season, then had the f*cking nerve to offer Cristiano Ronaldo all that cash and even try to include Robinho in the deal - then when the C. Fergies Champs @ 12/1? Yes please!

1
Here's an early season bet to blow you away-Manchester United to be top of the Premier League by the end of September.
Alex Ferguson's champs don't typically get off to a flyer, but double figures for the title favourites is a huge risk by bookies SunBET.

Granted United have some tricky away trips to Portsmouth, Liverpool and Chelsea – and will miss the slavery service of the injured Cristiano Ronaldo and a few other sicknote stars.

Bye Bye Brazil, Hello Holland

2
Real Madrid's love affair with Brazilian footballers seems to be slowly coming to an end. At its height, back in Florentino Pérez's last season as club president, the squad boasted five Brazilians in its ranks: Roberto Carlos, Cicinho, Baptista, Robinho and Ronaldo. As of today, with the sale of Julio Baptista to Roma for €12 million, this number now stands at two: Robinho and Marcelo. Click to continue reading...

49% fans blame Ronaldo, 28% blame the Press

1
Last week Soccerlens asked readers who they blamed for the torturous summer-long United-Ronaldo-Madrid saga. The results are detailed below: Out of a poll of 636 readers, 49% (309 readers) laid the responsibility at Cristiano Ronaldo's feet, with his refusal to 'clarify his position' (or rather, his desire to move and initial refusal to accept United's position) [. Monthly Power Rankings

I've decided to start a monthly power ranking, where I will rank the current top 10 teams in the world, and the top 10 players in the world.  For the club teams, I will take into account the clubs place in the league standings, the level of competition in the league, and success in international and domestic tournaments. Things that are good

2
1. Toronto FC finally won a game -- not only that, but it was an away win! And a game they really shouldn't have won at all. They were missing a bunch of players, and they had a grand total of two shots on target -- but one of those was the only goal of the game, a gorgeous free kick by Chad Barrett. How to Keep Your Best Players, Playground Style

3
I recently (and more than a little prematurely) hailed Martin O'Neill as a genius for holding on to Gareth Barry via the tactic of quoting Liverpool a high price for his best player and not accepting a penny less. But that's not the only tactic for preventing your players from leaving. Our latest football comic from [. Click to continue reading...

Chelsea’s Cole: More To United Than Just Ronaldo

3
Manchester United faced criticism of being a 'one man team' throughout the season, which although it might be taken seriously by some, anyone who watched United play on a regular basis could see what a load of bollocks it was. Ronaldo had a case of the Midas touch last season, pulling off incredible tricks and finishing [. Click to continue reading...

Manchester United: Ferguson vuole Villa

0
Nuovo capitolo in casa Manchester United. The Best Damn Club in Town

Since dumping inflatable fun-bucket Nereida Gallardo, Cristiano Ronaldo has been having a whale of a time. In between busy stints tanning himself blacker than night, the Portuguese winger has been rubbing shoulders with Paris Hilton, David Beckham and Justin Timberlake, and dating a foxy Italian model called Letizia Filippi.

What Do We Expect From Ron? Would You Leave Real For United?

3
We finally got the clarification we were looking for on Ronaldo's future last week, following a summer of comments of intent from Real Madrid and Manchester United, as well as vague messages from the player. He is staying. Now, there's plenty of time to reflect on our opinions of Ronaldo over the coming season. Click to continue reading...
