With the Championship starting last night, the Football League season is already underway, but
League One kicks off later this afternoon. And after a season where so many sides looked strong at
the top, there don't appear to be any sides as strong as those that won promotion last season. With
no real makeweights on paper either, we could well be in for one of the tightest division for a
while.
Foram definidos nesta quarta-feira os confrontos da segunda fase da Copa da Liga Inglesa – que

dos naming rights da competição.
Just a quickie to keep y'all abreast of happenings on the domestic front, in so far as the draw
for the first round of the Capital One Cup (or the League Cup as it's also known) has been made
this morning.

We continue our run of archived matches of the clubs of Football League One with Crewe Alexandra, and six matches from the years between 1987 and 2010 kicking off with Crewe's trip to Plainmoor on the last day of the 1986/87 season to play Torquay United with the home side needing a result to avoid becoming the first club to be automatically relegated from the Fourth Division and into the Football Conference.

Here's Sir Alex Ferguson welcoming his latest acquisitions to the flock earlier this afternoon;
Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell, bought in from Borussia Dortmund and Crewe Alexandra respectively,
and welcomed to Old Trafford with a personalised tablecloth each.
At the unveiling of Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell, Sir Alex Ferguson has discussed what he
believes their best position to be. Fergie admits he asked Dario Gradi, Crewe Alexandra director of
football, for advice on where Powell was best suited to play.
"I asked Dario if Nick could be a central midfielder," he said.
Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has paid a glowing tribute to outgoing winger Ji-Sung Park,
explaining that the Red Devils will truly miss the new QPR signing.
Ferdinand has played alongside Park during one of United's most successful eras in recent years
and in addition to the South Korea international's demeanor as a "selfless" teammate, Rio believes
that his upbeat attitude was a major asset for the club too.
After weeks of speculation, Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Crewe Alexandra
teen, Nick Powell.
"We have scouted Nick for months now. He is an exceptional talent and has been schooled well
at Crewe," said Ferguson. "I'm delighted he has chosen to come to United. He has a lot to
offer and we are all looking forward to working with him.

Crewe Alexandra has confirmed that midfield starlet Dan Smith has signed for Liverpool.
Manchester City was also keen on the 16-year-old midfielder, who is an England youth

Jordan Lussey netted a late winner as Liverpool U18s won their first game of 2012 with a 1-0
success over Crewe Alexandra on Saturday morning.
Mike Marsh's side, who had striker Jordan Ibe making his debut, had to work hard for their victory
in a match played out in a gale force wind.
Lussey found the net six minutes from time when he found space just outside the box and his shot
took a wicked deflection on its way into the net.

[W]ith the managerial merry-go-round operating at warp speed over the Christmas break, and the recruitment seemingly limited to just Michael Appleton and Sean O'Driscoll, we thought that it was time that some of the lesser-touted managers of the Football League received some attention. Many readers will no doubt want to nominate other deserving individuals, but, to get things started, here is our list of five gaffers achieving great results with limited resources.
Crewe Alexandra has long held a reputation for producing lots of talented young players through their academy, and Arsenal could be about to sign the latest hot prospect, striker Max Clayton.
Pat Rice, in his new role as scout for the Gunners, has been watching the 18-year old recently in his league games against Portsmouth and Walsall.

pesquisar sobre ele quando o vi a separar dois companheiros de equipa que se "embrulharam"

atenção pelo "lenço" que usava na sua cabeça e pela sua envergadura.

This town is a rugby town. The red and white horizontal stripes of the Warriors have always been
the biggest team in the Greater Manchester town of Wigan, dominating the Rugby Super League with
names such as Martin Offiah, Jason Robinson and Andy Farrell standing tall as the sons of Wigan.
The blue and white vertical stripes, those that share the DW Stadium with their rugby league
brothers, are represented as the lesser sibling of the Warriors in a town that is synonmous pie
eating and harsh North Western living conditions.
