Friday's Daily: TKO In Columbus

USSoccerPlayers 06 November @ 10:15 AM EST
With J Hutcherson -- That crack media contingent that put Columbus Crew coach Robert Warzycha in the final three for MLS Coach of the Year? Well, the biggest playoff breakdown in recent memory wasn't an overwhelming display on the part of Real Salt Lake. It was Columbus playing for the draw in the first game and not getting it. O Pep!

Futbolita 05 November @ 01:07 AM EST

Is this the curse of Rubin Kazan? Even exasperated Pep has run out of hand movements to last the entire game... and you know that's bad!

Anyway, after pulling off a shock victory at Nou Camp, everyone from the strange bloke who looks like Robert Pattinson on crack to the stray cat next door is wondering if the mighty Barca are really faltering.

Adriano: The face of crack

Dirty Tackle 04 November @ 01:22 PM EST

Adriano has been doing really well since returning to Brazil and getting his head back together. So well, in fact, that people are even using his image on their products. Unfortunately, those products are drugs.

From the Corriere dello Sport:

Now that Adriano is back in Rio de Janeiro and is the top scorer in the Brazilian championship with Flamengo, he's so popular that his picture is even selling packets of drugs.

“Hagan juego”

Jugadores Libres 04 November @ 10:51 AM EST

Scunthorpe 2 – Newcastle United 1

Dull. Uninspiring. Inept.

All words than can some up tonight's performance. It's really gone beyond who scored for / against us anymore. It's now down to attitude and application. Sadly for Newcastle United fans, both our coaching staff and players are completely incapable of showing either.

USA win the group!

Project 2010 15 October @ 12:46 PM EST

The 2-0 first-half deficit made it seem unlikely, but the US were able to battle back to match points with Mexico, and therefore, win the group. Well done, boys! Here are some thoughts from the game:

-It was great to see the US create so many chances. You'd like to see us finish more of those (obviously), but on another day, it could have easily been 5-2.

This weekend's games

The Fake Sigi Schmid Blog 25 September @ 05:55 PM EST
Big weekend with lots of playoff implications. First up, us and New England. Basically, nobody expects us to win this game, not even me. LadyArse - Arsenal and the world of football from a woman's perspective @ OleOl 25 September @ 12:44 PM EST

Howdy doody LadyArse lovers. It seems as though I may have a very tiny apology to make regarding the standard of my blogging over the past number of weeks, maybe even months (this week aside). The reason for this is that I have been thoroughly and utterly miserable in work, more so than is normal.

Another win for United in the pre-season, making it six out of seven for the summer of 2009. A 2-0 win over the sixth best side in Spain is good preparation for the Community Shield on Sunday, as we're ten days away from the season!

Positives
Antonio Valencia - The press have questioned, repeatedly, how Sir Alex Ferguson reckons a Wigan winger who's scored a handful of goals over the past few seasons is going to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
