DENVER — When the women's soccer teams from Metropolitan State College and Regis University met in mid-October at Auraria Field in downtown Denver, the Roadrunners went on a three-goal tear in the second half.

DENVER – Becca Mays is the type of player who makes her teammates better, and she showed it on Friday against Regis University. Mays didn't score any of her team's goals, but had a hand in all of them as the Metropolitan State College women's soccer team scored three quick goals in the second half for a 3-0 victory at Auraria Field in downtown Denver.

The sixth-ranked Metropolitan State College women's soccer team stretched its winning streak to 12 games with a 3-0 win against Colorado Christian on Wednesday in Lakewood.

The Roadrunners improved to 14-1-0 overall and 11-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Cougars dropped to 4-5-2 and 2-5-1 in the RMAC.

Colorado School of Mines striker Kayla Mitchell was named the RMAC offensive player of the week for games played during the week of Oct. 2. It marks the fifth time in Mitchell's career and second time this season that she has received this honor.

The No. 13 Metropolitan State College women's soccer team, led by Becca Mays' three goals, cruised to a 5-1 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday evening in Colorado Springs. The Roadrunners improved to 8-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while UCCSÂ dropped to 2-4-0, 1-4-0 in conference.

Aleah DeGeneres scored on a cross from Madison McQuilliams in the 103rd minute to give No. 20 Metro State a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Fort Lewis on Friday afternoon at Auraria Field. It was the first loss of the season for Fort Lewis and marked the first time the Skyhawks had allowed a goal in 2009.

DENVER — Senior Becca Mays scored three goals and freshman Annie Austin added two as the Metropolitan State College women's soccer team handed the Colorado School of Mines its first loss, a 6-1 thumping Saturday at the Auraria Fields in Denver. Mines entered the game with 4-0 record and was ranked 20th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
