Quite a transfer coup for Newcastle with the signing of £10 million pound number 9 Papiss Demba
Cisse from German side Freiburg. The Senegalese striker will wear the famous shirt, as worn by
previous Newcastle legends Alan Shearer, Jackie Milburn and Malcolm Macdonald. He will make up half
of a potentially lethal strikeforce alongside Newcastle's other top striker, also from Senegal,
Demba Ba.
Newcastle United pulled off a coup today in the signing of Senegalese striker Papisse Demba
Cisse. The former Freiburg striker has nine goals from 15 appearances so far this season, and
finished last season as one of the top goalscorers in the Bundesliga with 22 goals to his name.
The striker signs on a 5 and-a-half year deal, and the transfer fee is thought to be in the
region of £7.
Could the Dynamo pull off two SuperDraft coups in a row?
Would you be willing to give up allocation money (which the Dynamo most likely would not use
anyways) for a chance to end up with yet another Draft Day coup? After last year's draft, I think
the Dynamo might very well consider moving up to the 4th pick as there are some hot commodities
there.
Liverpool target Esteban Granero is available for transfer this month and can be bought for around
£8million according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder has been told he is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu by
Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho, but is unwilling to let the former Getafe man leave the club on
loan.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has pulled off a major transfer coup after securing the signing of
Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong until the end of the season a move which will help Wolves bulk
up in the middle of the park.
Dear David Beckham,
I just wanted to introduce myself first. My name is Matt, I'm 29-years-old and, to be honest, I
didn't really get involved in soccer all that much until 2006. At that time, I was in Iraq. As you
can imagine, soccer is beloved in Iraq, but what got me caught up in it was the fact that I
couldn't friggin' escape it.

will be a peaceful coup of speedy, attacking soccer, or a... Read more »
Name: Jean-Guy Wallemme In his 1990s prime for: Coventry City Lowdown: Although Jean-Guy Walleme
isn't exactly a household name in Premier League terms, he was seen as something of a coup for
Coventry when they bought him from Lens in 1998, where he had captained the French club to the
league title the previous season.
Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side are already facing a major injury crisis, only three matches into
the Premier League season. Last night it was revealed that center back Thomas Vermaelen underwent
an achilles operation in Sweden, ruling out the influential Belgian for at least a month.
The injury, combined with Jack Wilshere's persistent injury problems, means that the struggling
Gunners will continue to be without some of their key players.
Chelsea have clinched a sensational 11th hour transfer coup as they've announced the official
signing of Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles. The Portuguese central midfielder surprised many
pundits today by handing in a transfer request at Anfield, and Chelsea have revealed on their
official website that they've signed the 28 year old.
It was about as late as they come, but, in the end, we've added some exquisite tattoo work to
the first team. Nicely done, Chelsea.
Moving in
Chelsea left it late really fucking late. It hardly matters now, though, as they have pulled off
quite a coup in my mind.
Alot of headlines are going across England+ Denmark today with Nicklas Bendtner on the verge of
an exit from his somewhat second home Emirates Stadium, London. Alot of parties have been
interested all summer, but it could be Stoke City who are on the verge of winning the race for the
multi-talented Danish attacker.
It has now been confirmed that the much rumoured transfer of former Inter Milan full-back Davide
Santon to Newcastle United is now completed.
Santon, an Italian International has signed for NUFC on a currently undisclosed fee (thought to
be around £5 million). The Italian defender will wear the number 3 shirt and has signed on a five
year deal.
Arsene Wenger never fails to surprise us, and it looks like he has pulled off a coup by hijacking
the move of Monaco's South Korean striker Park Chu-Young, who had agreed terms with Lille and was
supposedly on his way to the north of France to complete a medical with the Ligue 1 Champions.

According to the Guardian, Arsenal have opened talks with Rennes over a move for their £12
million-rated holding midfielder Yann M'Vila a player who has been attracting a fair amount of
interest after establishing himself in the France national side over the course of the past year or
so.
What a glorious evening of soccer. Three points were taken at home! This, for me, was the best
win of the season so far (he comments hopefully). It had solid play from the new comers, quality
play in the defensive end, Sean Johnson being Sean Johnson, Marco Pappa playing defense (!), a
coaching sub I agreed with, and most importantly NO TIE.
Another great episode of this RBNY-themed podcast. This week Mark and Dave discuss the night the
season died @RSL and how it is that our season has gone south so quickly. A major coup this week,
as they have brand new RBNY President Chris Heck as their featured guest. The always great Brian
Lewis, of the NY Post, also makes a guest appearance in this one.
Interesting development this. Apparently we've snagged highly touted teenager Islam Feruz from
Celtic. Say word?
Nothing concrete of course but a plethora of sources are reporting that the 15-year-old
Somali-born attacker will join Chelsea when he turns 16 next month.
The most emotional goal we've ever seen?
Having decided not to renew his contract at Fulham Zoltan has come back to the club where he
started his career in England," said Hodgson.
"The last time he played at West Bromwich Albion he was a very popular figure with everyone at
the club, not least of all the fans.
Dennis Doyle/Getty Images(Bleacher Report) According to Portuguese press and Give Me Football.com,
Liverpool have agreed to put out a large splash of cash early on in the summer window after having
reached a believed £25 million fee with Benfica for the purchase of left-back Fabio Coentrao.
Coentrao is perhaps the most sought after left sided defender in the world at the current moment.

Es ist ein großer Coup, den die Fans von Borussia Dortmund da gelandet haben. Oder ist er gar

Sometimes, the end justifies the means. If you can find the end of the nose.
Of all the rampant match-fixing taking place right now and it's reaching epidemic levels South
Korea's K-League, despite its lack of exposure outside of Asia, seems to be the worst. A systemic
failing on all levels, requiring a complete overhaul of the league.
Skysports.com understands Blackpool is eyeing moves for Liverpool duo Tom Ince and Gerardo
Bruna.
Blackpool is hoping to strike a deal for the pair after selling Charlie Adam to Liverpool earlier
this week.
Seasiders boss Ian Holloway is keen to bolster his squad and he is exploring the prospect of taking
Ince and Bruna on loan.
As we saw yesterday, Spurs target Leandro Damiao isn't likely to be available until January so
with that in mind, could Harry Redknapp now be looking towards a young striker in another part of
the world?
Ante Vukusic is a 20 year old Croatian centre forward, currently playing for Hajduk Split.
It's always exciting when we make a signing, and the return of Andy Reid to Forest is a great coup
I think. Those people making jibes about his fluctuating weight overlook his undoubted talent on
the ball, delivery and passing ability not to mention the fact that he appears to be in good shape
too [.
UPDATE: Here's what Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer had to say about the rumor, make of it
what you will: "The only thing that I can confirm is that Prince is a player whom we have followed
over the past few months. But he is under contract with Hoffenheim, so we will communicate with
them directly, if there are any potential contract discussions.
The future of Udinese's Chilean star, Alexis Sanchez still hangs in the balance as despite
recent strong indication that the player will ends up in Barcelona, things seems a little bit
confusing as the Bianconeri's president, Giampaolo Pozzo, still denies that a deal have been struck
with the Catalan.
After the sensational first deal being confirmed today with Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing will
become the second player to make the move to Merseyside, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Downing has long been a target for Kenny Dalglish, with the Liverpool manager deciding between the
Aston Villa star and teammate Ashley Young.

In the summer of 2009 Juventus proudly unveiled their latest signing, the €25 million capture of
Felipe Melo from Fiorentina. The Brazilian International was one of footballs hottest properties
after an outstanding debut season in Serie A and an excellent Confederations Cup with Brazil. With
Arsenal heavily interested in him it was seen as something of a coup by then Sporting Director
Alessio.
