A Norwegian Arsenal fan has received compensation after dislocating his shoulder when Spurs took the lead in last month's north London derby. Sverre Litleskare popped his shoulder out of it socket when he raised his right arm too quickly in his attempt to show his disgust at Gareth Bale's opener. While watching the match with [.
Well, I picked a pretty interesting week to go out of town from an Arsenal perspective. When I
left last week there was hope that RvP might be staying put, everyone was jazzed up about the new
signings, and there was talk of more to come. I land in San Francisco on Wednesday last week, turn
on my phone, and immediately receive 5-10 texts from both Arsenal and ManUre fans about the now
confirmed transfer of one Robin Van Persie to Manchester.
Stoke City 1-1 Arsenal Premier League 28th April 2012
The abuse once again meted out to Aaron Ramsey from sections of the Stoke City faithful on
Saturday was rather distasteful, with the Welshman's only crime to have his leg smashed in two by
Ryan Shawcross.
Very late with this I know but my couch has missed me these past week and I can't go on ignoring
it any more. After 2 days of following them everywhere, my body failed me on this final day. Only
time I got out of the house was to go to the stadium to attend the long awaited friendly match.
I know the staple matchday food and beverage for those going to Ashburton Grove involves plenty
of alcohol but here in Malaysia, that is not our culture.
There's too much MLS tonight. That's not a complaint just a fact. Dallas play Toronto, Philly host
Becks-less LA, and the Whitecaps welcome the Earthquakes to Vancouver to party like it's 1978 in a
NASL redux match. How am I supposed to watch all three of those meaningful matches and the alleged
"Arsenal of MLS"'s random foreign friendly du jour in Montreal tonight?
According to Arsenal China website The Gunners will play Hangzhou Greentown on 16 July. Before this
they will play in Malaysia on 11 July.
Aussie Adam Griffiths plays for the Chinese team. Wonder if I can kip on his couch!
The man, the myth, the maniacal legend has returned to grace us with his wondrously insane ways
Mad Jens is back.
There is a law in Germany which states Jens must cause drama with each and every goalkeeper who
happens to own a German and/or Polish passport. Just the way it is.
Yesterday when I was going through Goonernews, I came across a very interesting article on
LeGrove. And needless to say, I was impressed with his initiative. We all have seen what Barca are
capable of and that $hit that they performed after the World Cup is still fresh in my mind. I
loathe Pique, Puyol & Pepe for that.
Once again I sat on my couch on Wednesday with hopes of watching a Red Bulls match on MLS Live
and once again I was denied. In the Hartford area, the Red Bulls are blacked out despite the
absence of any means to watch the games through cable television. Yet again, fans in a
neighboring state are prevented from watching one of the league's hallmark franchises because of
the league's complex blackout rules.
This is sure to bring out the pitchforks and torches from the FIFA faithful: this year's version of
the finest footie game around will only feature a partial selection of MLS clubs. To say this is
disappointing is an understatement; how else can Red Bull New York win the league if not for a
prolonged campaign of late-night button mashing on my couch.
While most soccer players his age are too consumed with their careers to worry about an
education, Amobi Okugo is balancing his professional life with earning a college degree. The U.S.
Under-23 Men's National Team midfielder left UCLA after his freshman year to join Major League
Soccer and he was selected by the Philadelphia Union sixth overall in the 2010 MLS Expansion
Draft.
By Jason Davis - WASHINGTON, DC (Mar 14, 2011) US Soccer Players -- My First Kick Saturday started
with a trip to the kitchen, where I grabbed a beverage and a salty snack. After sitting down on my
couch, I turned on my laptop and navigated to the website of Major League Soccer, where I clicked a
link that led me to the League's revamped streaming service called "MLS Live.

The first time I saw Chad Barrett play he teamed with Matt Taylor as UCLA slaughtered Cal State
Fullerton at the Home Depot Center in the first-ever college game played at the venue.
How many ladies out there would like to examine the ears of the German National Team? Don't
think you'll get away with only examining the Podolskis, Lahms or Gomezes in the
squad we'll throw in Oliver Kahn's ears into the mix as well! (Gotcha!)Â
Anyway, Christian Träsch who is really getting his ear examined by the German
NT's medical staff up there has opened up to Lothar Matthäus' favourite newspaper in the whole
wide world Bild about "terrible fans" appearing at his doorstep after
Wolfsburg's defeat to Hoffenheim last month.
Head coach of the German national soccer team, Joachim Loew, got comfy on his outdoor couch
yesterday during a pre-match interview in Istanbul. His team will take on Turkey in today's Euro
2012 qualifying match.
Why Liverpool have missed an opportunity on Suarez, Graham Poll is beyond a joke and
Ancelotti is already top of the table
Liverpool deserve some credit for deciding not to appeal against Luis Suarez's eight-match ban.
But what a shame they chose to couch their decision in Âinflammatory language that continued to
insist Suarez had done nothing wrong.
Why we'll lose the right to lecture ANYONE one racism if John Terry is picked for
England
If any TV producers are reading this can I ask them to persuade Caroline Aherne to bring Mrs
Merton out of retirement. Just so she can invite a piece of excrement on to her couch and ask:
"what first attracted you to the lovely England football captain, John Terry?
Normalerweise sitzt man
auf der Couch und verfolgt von dort das Spiel.
I had the feeling this supposedly intense season-ending derby would come off as an
afterthought.
And both teams played like it.
The Galaxy's unbeaten home record aside there was little at stake for either team in this
perfunctory performance unless you like counting shutouts or watching an old warhorse like Gregg
Berhalter finish out a career.
Just Play Football - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
If ever there is a time to push football it is when the dark nights draw in and the
jackets go on. Push football? I know, we all watch it; comment; log on; and couch surf our way
through hundreds of hours of football.
My dude Nicky Firchau and a crew from the day job are out on a left coast road trip all week as
they make their way from LA to Seattle for First Kick. Yesterday the checked in with Chivas USA and
hassled Jimmy Conrad and went by Heath Pearce & Zarek Valentin's bachelor pad to play games on a
couch (as you do).

If you watched the USA-France Olympic opener on Wednesday, either in person or from your couch, you
were no doubt entertained. Four goals in the first 31 mintues? Crazy stuff. A two-goal deficit
overcome, then adding two more? Nuts.
No matter what emotions your experienced watching the game, it was a great way to not only kick off
the women's soccer competition but also the overall Olympic competition for Team USA.
I hope you'll let me divert for a bit to this wonderful article from MLB.com. Dave Cameron was
diagnosed with leukemia last July and while he won't be considered cured for another 5 years he's
turned a major corner and is seeing very positive signs.
Dave's a few years younger than me but we both grew up in the Seattle area listening to Dave
Niehaus (RIP) calling many bad (and a few good) Mariners seasons.
Closing in on a season defining fortnight, I have several questions about our beloved Naranja. We
discussed this ad naseum over lunch today. The answers, of course, will mean the difference between
attending the playoffs possibly for the last time at Robertson Stadium and watching the playoffs
from the depths of my couch (those that are actually broadcast on noncable TV).
Julie Neville wife of Everton captain Phil appeared on Lorraine Kelly's ITV couch yesterday morning
to promote WinNaturally, her new organic and healthy living website. We give style snaps for her
chic ruffled BCBGMAXAZRIA shirtdress, surprise jazz hands for her good work and a pat on the back
for those readers who use their best judgment in the comments section of this post.
You may have heard at some point that the guy who killed Abe Lincoln shot him in a theater and hid
in a warehouse and that the guy who allegedly killed JFK shot him from a warehouse and hid in a
theater. It's not totally true as Lincoln's killer was actually caught in a barn. Either way, it's
still spooky.
I literally was sitting on the couch screaming my heart out.
So for those who missed it, our ladies ended the game 1-1 with Brazil...technically.
So what got it to that point? Well our first goal wasn't technically our first goal. The USWNT,
though in awesome position and at first glance, appeared that they scored, the ball actually was
scored by Brazilian defender, Daiane, who was attempting to block the ball.
Meet Lucia del Carmen Vázquez our Manchester United Futbolita who has been an
ardent Red Devil fanatico for over a decade! The 27-year-old is from Guadalajara, Mexico, also
known as the birthplace of the club's young starlet, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. On the eve of
her club's Champions League finale showdown against Barcelona, Lucia answers our traditional "Tres
Cosas" (Three Things) game.
I have always been an early riser, but for a long time that meant only, or mostly, work: wake
up, shower and dress, ingest the life-giving caffeinated fluids, and get some writing done before
the rest of the world can start plucking at my sleeve. It's an M.O. that has served me well. The
more I get done in the rising day, the earlier I can ease off the gas pedal, and the more
completely I can relax in the evenings: sit back with a drink and watch some basketball or baseball
whatever sport happens to be on with a wholly vacuous, nearly flatlining brain.
Why do we plop down on the couch to watch a sporting event? Wait, don't say boredom, general
malaise or apathy to do anything else productive with your life that doesn't involve holding a
remote in one hand and a Bud Light in the other.Beyond my general cynicism, it's a simple question
to answer when you have a vested rooting interest in one of the participants.
