Why Wilfried Bony will be worth every penny of the £28m Manchester City spend on him

Why Wilfried Bony will be worth every penny of the £28m Manchester City spend on him is a post from: Just Football

Strikers who arrive in the Premier League from the Eredivise will always be viewed with an unfair amount of suspicion we can blame Alfonso Alves, and now Jozy Altidore, for that and there was undoubtedly no shortage of people who viewed Swansea City's club-record £12m move for Wilfried Bony in 2013 as a gamble on the Welsh club's behalf.

Ivory Coast – 2014 World Cup squad

Ivory Coast 2014 World Cup squad is a post from: Just Football

Ivory Coast's 2014 World Cup squad relies on the experience of a fading golden generation; the few youngsters involved are unlikely to feature in the first team, bar one or two. One who could catch the eye however, is right back Serge Aurier, the 21-year-old who has pushed Emmanuel Eboue out of contention and attracted attention from Arsenal and Liverpool due to his athletic performances, versatility and creativity in defence at Toulouse.

The 2012 African Cup Of Nations: The Morning After The Night Before

Twohundredpercent at related • 1 view

I'm a fan of international football tournaments on the whole, regardless of quality (regular readers may have spotted this long ago). And the 2012 "edition" of the African Cup of Nations certainly put that philosophy to the test. Take out an extraordinary second round of group games and the uplifting climax and you were left with a series of not very good football matches, spoiled by wild shooting, woeful set-pieces, shocking referee's assistants, poor sportsmanship and crowds which gave all the grounds the look of an Isthmian League matchday.

Brazil v Cote d'Ivoire preview

Road to 2010 World Cup Final at related • 0 views
This crucial Group G clash presents Brazil with the chance to take this World Cup by the scruff of the neck. Surprise defeats for Spain, Germany and France and scrappy draws for Italy and England means no one has stepped forward to stake a claim for the trophy.

Brazil were nearly as unimpressive in beating North Korea 2-1 in their opener, but their task against Cote d'Ivoire is not simply to signal their intent to go all the way; the three-way battle to reach the second round is a tight one according to World cup 2010 betting odds and the Samba Kings must go all out for three points.

2012 ACN: Sudan beat Burkina Faso, 2-1 to qualify

Sudan's chances in Group B resting on slim hopes were realized yesterday as they beat Burkina Faso through Mutahdir's brace and an underwhelming Angola lost to Cote D'Ivoire, 0-2. Former Arsenal full back Emmanuel Eboue gave the Ivoirians the lead and the second goal was a comedy of errors.
