Stories in the Brazilian press at the start of the week had Corinthians, one of the country's biggest clubs and the current employers of Ronaldo, planning to sign Juan Román Riquelme from Boca Juniors in a bid to boost their Copa Libertadores campaign in 2010, their centenary year.

Fat Ronaldo finally admits it

Dirty Tackle 11 November @ 12:05 AM EST

It's finally happened. Fat Ronaldo has admitted that he's a chubby tub of goo. (A very talented chubby tub of goo, but still a chubby tub of goo, nonetheless.)

In an interview with Globo television, The Fat One, who has 11 goals for Corinthians this season, said that he wouldn't call himself up to the Brazilian national team right now, that he will put forth perhaps the greatest effort of his career to make the team, and that he thinks the first half of 2010 will be vital blah blah blah.

As you probably noticed, we've had some S365 machine ghosts to bust this weekend. That obviously slowed me down, and thus, this is late. It's still videos of sweet goals, though...Let's begin with some dude named Ricky at Real Madrid. Recently retired Vieri suddenly unretired

A measly six days ago, Bobo Vieri a man without a club since he terminated his deal with Atalanta because fans "expected too much from him" announced his retirement by unequivocally stating:

"I don't want to play anymore and I'm not even tempted to play abroad."

And now, just SIX DAYS LATER he's about to sign with Brazilian minnows Botafogo.

Brazil: the talent factory 2009 featuring Tottenham Hotspur target Sandro Ranieri, Souza, Boquita, Giuliano, Diego Renan, Rafael Tolói

Pitaco do gringo's Brazilian football blog 27 October @ 10:17 AM EST

With the season is moving towards the final stages, I thought it was high time I produced a follow up to last year's ‘Brazil: the talent factory' post. Once again, there has been an abundance of exciting new players that have caught the eye in their first season in Série A.

Of the players I picked out last year; Palmeiras' Keirrison was bought by Barcelona and has been loaned out to Benfica.

On Sunday, a Brazilian (and Corinthians) fan invaded the pitch of the match Bolivia 2 1 Brazil. The man had a sign in his hands that basically asked Dunga to take the "fatty" to the World Cup. As you may guess, the fatty is Ronaldo. The irony is the size of the fan, which makes him fat as well. It is the old story: similar people look out for each other.

Pitch invader demands Fat Ron

The injury-laced success of Fat Ronaldo since he's joined Corinthians has evidently not gone unnoticed by fans of Brazil's national team. Luis Fabio: Better Than Ronaldo

PVC, the great football researcher, proves with numbers in his blog that Luis Fabiano is better than Ronaldo. More than that, he is already the 15th top scorer in the history of the national team (true that Ronaldo is the second, just behind Pele).
