As you're probably aware, Brazilian football (CBF and CONMEBOL for that matter) have no respect for the international break. So two matches took place in Brazil on Wednesday night one for Copa Sudamericana and one for the Brasileiro. And it was enough for the biggest collective nervous breakdown, I've ever seen.

See The Cup 12 November @ 01:55 PM EST

What seemed to be a terrible year for Fluminense may end up as a good one, after all (obviously, staying in the first division is fundamental to that). In the first-leg of the semis, Flu played as it is supposed to: as a big and traditional club. It played the first-half better than Cerro Porteno, but did not score.

Return from the dead

SANTOS FOOTBALL CLUB 25 October @ 11:48 AM EST
Hey guys, I'm back from the dead. Due to commitments with school I haven't had time to update. However, I'll be hard at work with a new format to the posts. That includes translating and posting articles from Globoesporte, Futebol Uol Esporte, and of course the club's official website. I think this would be the best way to keep others up to date on the workings of the club. Click to continue reading...

Sudamericana: Bad Start for Brazil in the Quarter-finals

The two Brazilian clubs still in the Copa Sudamericana did not start well the quarter-finals of Copa Sudamericana. Botafogo and Fluminense will have a lot of work if they plan to advance to the semis. Botafogo visited Cerro Porteno in Paraguay and lost 2-1. Reinaldo scored for Bota, but if the club from Rio wants to advance, it must win at Maracana.

Goals from two meaningless matches

Hasta El Gol Siempre 01 October @ 03:24 PM EST
One of the matches on Wednesday night featured a 'national' team playing Ghana in Córdoba.
