Happier days: With Louis Van Gaal at Barca

From what one can gather, Robert Enke kept a terrible secret.

He hid his depression to himself, fearful if it became public, his adopted daughter would be taken away, he would lose his sport, and his family destroyed.

As his widow, Teresa says, "I tried to be there for him.

Alcorcon consider themselves champions (of Real Madrid)

Dirty Tackle 11 November @ 08:52 PM EST

Although they lost the away leg of their Copa del Rey fixture against Real Madrid 1-0, third division Alcorcon still completed their shock 4-1 aggregate upset over Spain's most expensive team and advanced to the fifth round (of eight) in the tournament.

For Alcorcon, this was their championship, though, and without a doubt the club's defining moment (it was only founded in 1971).

Real Madrid: Alcorchi? Alcorcon!

GolBlog 11 November @ 09:05 AM EST

Real eliminato in coppa dall'Alcorcon

Spanish Inquisition: Real Madrid Edge Alcorcon, But There’s Still Egg On Their Face

Sanford's Soccer Net 11 November @ 09:01 AM EST
What's a bigger embarrassment? Real Madrid labouring to a 1-0 home win over Alcorcon with their big guns out on show, or Alcorcón demolishing Real Madrid 4-0 at their 3,000-capacity Santo Domingo stadium with half of the mini-Galacticos day-dreaming out on the pitch?

The answer? Both are equally disgraceful.

Real Madrid: the Liverpool of Spain?

Injuries.
Underachieving.

Alcorcon? Sounds like a pharmaceutical or a weapons manufacturer. Not a third-division club that knocked you out in the Copa del Rey.
Naw, they're not Liverpool. Madrid is just one point out of first (not 11), but you get the picture. Click to continue reading...
