FC Barcelona has been drawn with Osasuna for the next round of Cop del Rey clash. The draw took
place today morning and had thrown up some interesting posibilities for next round. Guardiola
wouldn't be happy with the dates for the Last 16 round. The frist leg will take place at Camp Nou
between jan 3 to Jan 5.
Flag FAIL Roma forward Osvaldo smacked a crisp bicycle kick into the net against Lecce last week.
Cop a load of this. While Osvaldo was doing a Rooney, the assistant referee was doing a disservice
to fans of the game everywhere. He flagged for offside and the goal was disallowed. If you pause
the video [.

Caught in the act: the offending spit in action
Poor old Roberto Martinez is having a hard old time of it. Not only does the doe-eyed Spaniard
have to find a way to wake his underperfoming Wigan side from its early season coma, but he now has
to deal with the likely suspension of his Paraguayan defender Antolín Alcaraz.
Typically I restrict myself to talking about wet, hot America soccer but if there is a player with
no North American angle that I can make an exception for it is Zidane. Have you seen the Zizou
shirts from 3NIL? So necessary. I'm going to cop one in hopes that it will make me look worldly.
This month's issue of Q Magazine comes with a free CD celebrating the 20 year anniversary of U2's
incredible Achtung Baby. Entitled AHK-toong BAY-bi, it's a track-by-track covers album featuring
Depeche Mode, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Glasvegas and a bunch of other rich people bands taking on
the classic album from 1991.

Not quite sure how Birmingham fans feel about their former manager... (See pic above) **
Birmingham's acting chairman Peter Pannu was sadly absent from their triumphant Europa League
qualifier on Thursday night.
So, having toyed with resembling England's men in 2006 and 2010, Hope Powell's England finally
plumped for Bobby Robson's 1986-vintage, coming (very) good in their last group game after early
stutters. Of course, they also resembled England's women from 2007 which, against Japan, was just
the right example to follow.
My former work wife and author of the upcoming (and allegedly controversial) memoir/design for life
Record Collecting for Girls put me on to this new clip from CHLLNGR today. The visuals are
beautifully creepy while the track boasts some seriously The Chronic-esque keys and a haunting,
implied-dub bass line.
In what has to be the most awesomely-unholy union in the history of soccer shirts, them boys at
Bumpy Pitch have teamed up with Nike for a new USMNT-themed tee. If you don't cop this now you will
regret it later.
And I'm not just talking to my dudes here, ladies you can rock this as well and let all of your
disgraced beauty queen fantasies flow forth from the sash.
Chicago Riot goalkeeper Ante Cop's game-winning strike against the Baltimore Blast ranked third

Apologies for not getting comments on the recent games sooner. I'm traveling on the East Coast
and its playing havoc with my blogging schedule. But it has been interesting to note how much my
take on Philadelphia is tempered by watching the Kansas City game.
Cop this, Jesse Fink, SBS Leading football writer, get's stuck into Mike Cockerill SMH@s leading
football writer for Mike's piece on Frank Lowy.
What makes me laugh is that Jesse and Mike have both written to me, Jesse somewhat abusively, Mike
somewhat aggressively telling me to desist in criticism of them both and what they write.
It's safe to say that Johnny Jolly will never play in the NFL again. In fact, Jolly may never be
a free man again. The defensive end for the Green Bay Packers was arrested on Friday for having
more than 400 grams of codeine when he was pulled over by a cop on a traffic stop. On Wednesday, a
judge denied him bond, which means Jolly will have to stay in jail until at least April 20th.
Deion Sanders recently said that Dez Bryant needs help and insinuated that Dez Bryant is a liar.
Those comments are holding more and more weight as we learn more about the wide receiver for the
Dallas Cowboys. It's obvious that Dez Bryant needs some sort of help and that's exactly what Deion
Sanders has been saying.
I love animals, so it's a wonder there hasn't been more clips of this kind at NSC. Here, a
Brazilian police dog get's a little too excited and a bit of the spotlight. And I'd presume, his
butterfingered handler got a slightly used soccer ball and a bill for one new soccer ball.Said the
embarrassed cop afterward: "(W)oof.
BALTIMORE, Md. -- For the second time this season, the Chicago Riot's Ante Cop scored a
game-winning goal against the Baltimore Blast as Chicago earned an 11-9 overtime victory Friday in
Major Indoor Soccer League action at 1st Mariner Arena.
The Riot (5-14) ended a four-game losing streak and became the only team in the league to defeat
Baltimore (14-4) twice this season.
A LITTLE OVER TWO YEARS AGO I MENTIONED SOME "SH*TTY LITTLE KIDS FROM EAST L.A." CALLED FUNERAL

STORY OF THE DAYIts now a day later and I am still extremely pissed off that NASL teams were excluded from the US
Open Cup this year by US Soccer.
Recently, I had the distinct privilege to interview Chicago Riot goaltender Ante Cop. It's not
every day that you get the chance to interview a professional soccer player who has played all over
the world and has been very successful everywhere he has taken the field. It was amazing to hear
his personal insights and stories from his soccer playing years.
Striker will not be announced today; HTIOT schedule note
Sam Stejskal is reporting that the international striker who allegedly was going to arrive today
has had their paperwork not come through. The story of the Fire's off-season seemingly...
I promised some schedule analysis but I went off in a couple of different directions so there
are multiple drafts but no finished product.
BTW if you like studenty, British music Palace, the debut album from Chapel Club, was released in
the U.K. today. You should get it by whatever means you use to obtain your music these days.
They've also got a handful of U.S. dates coming up in March so cop some tickets as well. And just
to complete the trifecta download Ewan Pearson's glitchy, techy remix of "Surfacing" for the ride
home tonight.
This was the image towards the end of our previous final:-
Next month when we play on the same stage, albeit at a different stadium, this team are
determined that picture won't be replicated across the back pages the following day. They have
worked to get to their first Wembley final in a long, long time and if the attitude and
determination of the players last night is anything to go by it will be a successful one.
The Chicago Riot (2-6) faces the Milwaukee Wave (7-3) at 6 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Cellular
Arena. Chicago hopes to build off the momentum following a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over
the Baltimore Blast, 14-12, last Sunday.

The Chicago Riot put another notch on their winning totem pol Sunday night, defeating the
Baltimore Blast by a final tally of 14-12. The star of the game by far, would be new Riot netminder
Ante Cop. I'll be honest here. When the writers here at HTIOT saw the YouTube video of Ante Cop
talking about how old he was, we were worried about him filling in for injured Chicago Riot
goaltender Jeff Richey this weekend.
Chicago Riot goalkeeper Ante Cop netted a fourth-quarter game-winner, assisted a goal and added 22
saves -- including one in the final second -- to lead Chicago to a 14-12 win over the Baltimore
Blast on Sunday in Major Indoor Soccer League action at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center. CLICK

Today Arsene Wenger held his pre-match press conference and he discussed the possibility of signing
a defender, the future of useless keeper Almunia and the future of Andrey Arshavin. We all know I
want a new defender, a proper defender and no quick-fit half cop center-back like Silvestre or
Squillaci however it seems this is [.
Ante Cop takes over starting goalkeeper duties this Sunday for the Chicago Riot with regular
starter Jeff Richey out with a hamstring injury.
