Some would call it robbery, a late Jordi Gomez goal denying Chelsea a fourth consecutive victory
on Saturday at the DW Stadium. However, robbery would imply that the visitors actually deserved to
win. That, my friends, was hardly the case.
Dejection
What is it with this team?
Stoke City ended Tottenham's six-match Premier League winning streak while Martin O'Neill's
Sunderland left it late to heap more misery on Steve Kean and Blackburn Rovers.
Simon Vukčević's early goal seemed destined to give Blackburn their second consecutive victory
and lift them out of the bottom three.

Each week during the season I'll post an updated MISL Power Ranking which will be based off the
cumulative results and current strength of each team. Here's my rankings heading into Week 6.
#1 Milwaukee Wave (5-0, 1st Place MISL Central Division)While the Baltimore Blast are making a compelling argument for why they should be ranked #1 in the
power rankings, the Milwaukee Wave are still the top team in the league at this moment.
The conference tournaments are done and most teams have finished their seasons, but a select few
now move on to the NCAA Tournament to take a shot at a national title. The bracket was announced
this afternoon and it comes as no surprise that multiple Sounders Academy players will be on the
field when the tournament kicks off this week.

With the final half of the CONCACAF Champions League group stage set to kick off Tuesday night,
Toronto FC is faced with an opportunity that it can not let slip through its fingers.
TFC host Tauro FC (8 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel) in a Group C match that carries plenty of
significance in relation to Toronto's hopes of advancing to the knockout stage.
Floyd Mayweather takes a cheap shot on Ortiz after a headbutt incident and
knocks him out for a controversial win and claiming his 42 consecutive victory and his 26th KO. Was
he right to do what he did?

John Stertzer got his second chance, and he took it well.
Stertzer made up for a missed penalty kick in the first overtime period by heading home the
game-winner in the second overtime to lift No. 2 Maryland (Fox Soccer/SBI) to a thrilling 4-3
victory over UMBC Tuesday night.

Bye weeks don't get much better than the one the Los Angeles Galaxy just had.
Despite not playing a minute, the Galaxy watched its three chief competitors fail to secure wins
while adding Robbie Keane to the fold. Seattle and Dallas each played to draws, and Real Salt Lake
fell to Toronto, allowing the Galaxy to fortify their stronghold on the top spot in both the race
for the Supporters' Shield and the SBI MLS Power Rankings.
Multiple games in less than one week's time was commonplace in the old NASL. FireStingDoug
reflects on a match with the Seattle Sounders on May 23, 1981.
"Seattle came to town and paid a visit to Comiskey Park where 10,929 fans saw the Sting emerge
victorious 3-1. The Sounders led the league in total points in 1980 and were once again a solid
playoff contender in 1981 but the Sting continued their high energy style and outhustled
Seattle.
The Portland Timbers kept up the torrid scoring pace at JELD-WEN Field in putting up three goals
versus FC Dallas in front of another packed house and improved weather from the April 14 opener.
Unfortunately, some late defensive issues allowed FC Dallas to pull the match to within a goal at 3
to 2 with 5 mintues left.
Nowadays I am convinced that the most important man in any advanced team, is the coach. His role is
far more important than any time in the past. Mourinho used Pepe as his weapon against Barcelona as
a defending midfielder, and giving him all the freedom to practice his 'teasing' hobbies vs. Messi,
Villa and Xavi.
With back to back United wins and two clean sheets in a row, Twiggs is a happy Leeds fan this week!
Several promotion contenders are spluttering and Leeds are on a GREAT undefeated run, so this
week's show is very hopeful for a third consecutive victory this weekend. Match report from a fan
at the Bristol game plus the usual manager's views.
MADRID, Spain — Real Madrid responded in style to Barcelona's record breaking 16th consecutive
victory with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way in a 4-1 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday. Ronaldo
was charged up for the game after receiving criticism for not scoring in four games and having seen
Leo Messi hit a hat-trick in [.

Time to tame the Toons..
Arsenal travel to Newcastle on Saturday afternoon five points behind Premier League leaders
Manchester United after beating Everton 2-1 on Tuesday night. Although the spot light for once
won't be on the Gunners when the two teams kick off in Tyneside.
St James' Park hosts its first match since the controversial sale of local hero Andy Carroll,
with Alan Pardew's Newcastle in desperate need of a result to lift the gloom on Tyneside.
FC Barcelona managed to extract a sweet revenge on Hercules CF with a 3-0 victory away from
home. Yes, it was yet another record night. Now we have equalled the record for most consecutive
wins in La Liga. A first half goal from Pedro and two late goals from Lionel Messi gave us the 15th
consecutive victory of the season.
Just when things seems to start going well again for Chelsea, the London club once again left
disappointed last weekend after dropping more points from the teams above them in the league after
Carlo Ancelotti's boys failed to secure the three point against Aston Villa.
Despite getting a 3-2 lead with just a few minutes left in the clock, the Blues bottled their
lead and gave away a late equalizer in injury time which left the Italian coach bitter, claiming
the absentees in defense were one of the important aspect that cost the the three points.
