It's that time of year again when the financial reports are produced by Deloitte. Its clear to see

almost €200m more in revenue for the season 2010/11. It's startling just how much commercial

Goalkeeper Doug Herrick is no longer training with the club.
I just got confirmation that Timbers Supplemental Draft pick Doug Herrick is no longer training
with the team. It seemed likely given that he was left off of the preseason roster, but this
confirmation makes Joe Bendick the likely candidate to be the Timbers 3rd string keeper behind Troy
Perkins and Jake Gleeson.
For the second time, Chelsea's John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy. The
English Football Association confirmed that Terry was informed of the decision by FA chairman David
Bernstein in a phone call Friday morning.
Terry is due to stand trial in July over racial abuse allegations after an incident with QPR's
Anton Ferdinand and there has been mounting pressure within England to remove Terry as England's
captain ahead of this summer's Euro 2012 competition
The FA released a statement on their web site which read:
Following the decision to adjourn the court case against John Terry to July, The Football
Association confirm he will not captain the England team until the allegations against him are
resolved.

As you all know by now, John Terry has this morning been stripped of the England Captaincy once
again. The "Official statement" from the FA reads as follows:

What a load of rubbish! Arsenal supporters are planning to put black bin-bags over empty seats
during Saturday's match against Blackburn to highlight dwindling attendances at the Emirates. One
point from their last four games has seen the Gunners drop to seventh in the table. A protest group
is now aiming to draw attention to [.
So you guys might have seen the Fanpost here already, but I figured a full blown post was in
order considering the weight of this rumor. According to Colombian site FutbolRed.com, the 20 year
old Colombian national team player is apparently just waiting on a visa before he can be officially
announced and brought into the team.
WPS Season Canceled
Mere hours after the US Women reaffirm their dominance in the CONCACAF Olympics Qualifying
tournament, WPS has announced the cancellation of their 2012 season.
This is not entirely surprising considering the well publicized struggles with the owners of
MagicJack reducing the league to only 5 teams (FIFA guidelines specify a minimum of 8 teams to be
considered a league).
If Colombian media is to be believed, Faryd Mondragon is set to made a dramatic return to the
country to end his career.
Golcarcol is reporting that Deportivo Cali has begun discussions to bring Mondragon back to the
team. Deportivo is the team with which Mondragon began his career, which now spans over two
decades, during the 1990-91 season.

I'm not mean to dampen the mood of everyone here, but I guess many of you out there must be
disappointed by this time of the day when we are only made known of the opening round instead of
the FULL fixture list of this season S.
"Kiss me, I'm orange!"We promised we wouldn't talk about this godforsaken story
anymore until there was confirmation - but we are renowned liars... and desperate for some news.
With that, there is movement afoot on the most protracted TFC transfer saga of the off-season,
Richard Eckersley aka "The Ginger Affair".
Being blamed for some of the goals that Manchester United conceded in the last few matches,
David De Gea doesn't only lost his starting spot to Anders Lindegaard but might also be asked by
the club to do an eye operation.
According to the latest reports in England, the Red Devils are preparing a full-time optometrist
to treat De Gea, who is actually having a problem with his vision as he always wears glasses since
kids, only to replace it with contact lenses during matches.
Kenny Dalglish has today confirmed that Liverpool are on the verge of signing 19-year old
Portuguese youngster Joao Carlos Teixeira.Speculation was rife about a deal yesterday but there was
no official confirmation. In his weekly press conference a few minutes ago, Kenny was asked about
Teixeira, and despite being his usual coy self, he confirmed that Liverpool were working on a deal:

Today has been an exciting day to be a Portland Timbers fan. First, earlier this morning, we
received confirmation that Colombian central defender Hanyer Mosquera has joined the squad. As a
big center back with experience he'll be invaluable in helping the Timbers shore up some of those
defensive gaffes that were far too prevalent last season.
[I]t was only a matter of time before Graham Westley's achievements at Stevenage piqued the
interest of more firmly established members of the Football League. And the club that tempted him
from Broadhall Way could hardly be more established. Following the confirmation of Westley's
appointment as Preston manager last Friday, much scepticism was expressed among the Football
League Twitterati regarding the suitability of club for man, suggesting perhaps that he would
have done better to wait for an offer from the league above that in which he continues to ply his
trade.
Stories have been coming through this afternoon of a confirmed approach from QPR for left sided
midfielder Steven Pienaar but Harry Redknapp has stated once again that he has no desire to sell
the South African
"I wouldn't want to let him go. He is a good player," Redknapp said.
"I brought him on for the last 10 minutes against Everton on Wednesday and he didn't give the
ball away.
Sochaux has made a second offer for Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu. Consider this full confirmation
reporting. That is all for now. Over and out.See? I needed 145 characters for that.- Greg Seltzer
Getting close in securing Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea apparently will still
continue their surge in the winter transfer market and capture at least another quality player.
This confirmation was revealed by the club's tactician, Andre Villas-Boas, who unfortunately
still can't confirm, whose the other player they're trying to grab this January aside from
Cahill.
Lionel Messi won the FIFA Balon d'OR for the second consecutive time after the inception of the
award last year. With this victory he has won the FIFA World Player of Year and Balon d'Or for the
third consecutive time. It was a no btainer from the time the three man shortlist was
announced.
Many of Spurs' fringe players have been linked with a move away from the club and generally
speaking, rumours about possible departures for the likes of Vedran Corluka and Steven Pienaar have
been met with a clear ‘no' from Harry Redknapp.
That hasn't been the case with Gio Dos Santos however and after the manager is believed to have
vetoed a last minute move in the summer, it now seems that he is finally prepared to let the
Mexican go.
It looks like we have a player signing before the draft after all. Colombian international and
apparently now former Millonarios player Rafael Robayo announced over Twitter today:
Gracias DIOS por esta linda oportunidad de jugar en la MLS y muchas gracias al Chicago Fire por
haberse interesado en mi como refuerzo
Robayo had also used the social network last week to announce that he was unable to reach an
agreement with his current club.
Why Capello's reputation rests on the next six months
Redemption time. Or simply confirmation that he was the most expensive failed mercenary ever.
For Fabio Capello, the judgement will be made by July 1, stark and clear-cut. The stain of
Bloemfontein, of a World Cup campaign that descended into chaos, farce and ultimately humiliation,
still lies over Capello's reputation.
Lots of news out of a just-concluded Galaxy teleconference call with GM and Coach Bruce Arena that

Marcelo Sarvas, 30, in the next few days. Arena saw the Alajuelense player twice this year in

Following recent statement regarding Nemanja Vidic's injury status which previously arrived from
the player's agent, Manchester United's manger, Sir Alex Ferguson has now confirmed that the
Serbian international won't be available for the rest of this season.
Fergie revealed that the situation has actually been predicted by United's medical team, stating
that the player will immediately see a specialist and get an operation once the swollen on the knee
gets better.
There has been one story that has cheered me up today about our beloved blues and that's
confirmation that Sam Hutchison has earned himself a new contract to the end of next season. Not
bad for someone who had to retire with injury a while ago!.
I posted on my blog before that Hutchison is an inspiration and this news confirms the case.
It has been said that Andy Polo would be on his way to Real Madrid, but comments from the
17-year-old may have changed the earlier thought.
The Universitario striker has been watched at matches by Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and
Tottenham along with other European powers.
It appears one of them has won the services for the rising Peru star, but he won't say
which.
The news (and now confirmation) that NBC Sports has hired Seattle Sounders match commentator Arlo
White as its lead man for MLS coverage is a loss for the Sounders and their fans but a much bigger
boost to the state of American soccer commentary. White came over from the BBC but not without some
familiarity with American sport as he had commentated a Super Bowl a few years before.
Good morning to you.
We have the Carling Cup to contend with this evening and we take on the richest club in the
world, with the biggest, most expensive squad in the world, and a manager who is complaining about
a fixture pile-up. To be fair to Roberto Mancini, he's got a point. Playing Sunday then Tuesday is
tough for any team but when you can replace all 11 players and call on the likes of Kolo Toure,
Kolarov, Dzeko, Adam Johnson and others who didn't start the game against Liverpool then it does
make life a bit easier.
The Premier League in England returned after the international break and it's like nothing changed.
More specifically, through the nine fixtures played Saturday and Sunday, we didn't gain any huge
revelations.Instead, there was confirmation of what we already thought we knew about the league
this season.
There's a little something to be gained for both sides today. For France, a tuneup for a Euro
competition they (characteristically) barely qualified for, needing a late penalty conversion from
Samir Nasri against superpower Bosnia-Herzegovina to earn a 1-1 draw. For the US, they'd like some
confirmation against a talented side that Klinsmann's project is gaining steam.
This kind of came out of nowhere, eh? If you follow Lucas Piazon's Twitter account and, let's be
clear, you should be you would have found out earlier today that his transfer to Chelsea, somehow,
someway is now apparently official, and the boy can start participating in matches of the
not-so-friendly variety.
Football interviews are something like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: it's pretty lame if
they're toeing the vanilla line of political correctness and coached replies, but it's also not
smart to be completely open with one's candor. Somewhere in the middle is just right. Tomasz
Kuszczak has probably crossed the line a bit, confirmation awaiting upon information about his
salary.

Is this a cleverly manipulated photo (as implied by the comments on the FB page) or confirmation
that the Welsh FA will simply have to get over their problem with a Team GB soccer team?
If anyone knows, it'll be the Bale aficionados who stalk this site. Are those your man's
arms?

Having little playing chances since pretty much the latter part of last season, many rumors are
spreading regarding, Marouane Chamakh's future with Arsenal as the media believed that the Moroccan
would be leaving Emirates soon.
However, that negative news were immediately squashed by the Gunners' manager, Arsene Wenger,
who confirmed that his striker isn't going to move away from the London outfit especially next
January.
