Can't tell you proud I am of Everton today. A supposed top 4 side and we took them to the cleaners.
Denis, who we all know is a limited footballer, caused MAYHEM against their weird, lopsided 3-5-2
formation with Cole as a left winger and Luis as a left half.
Everton by comparison knew what they were about from the off, set the tempo and got in amongst them
at every turn.

I think I may have an idea why Chelsea are stuttering a bit this season; if this video is
anything to go by, their training sessions are utter chaos!
Firstly we see some assorted slapping from everyone present, then Fernando Torres exacts revenge
on John Terry for an earlier buffeting by wrestling him to the ground.
In recent transfer windows and recent seasons we constantly hear Wenger and the Board remind us
that we are building a team for the future, a club for the 21st century, one that
does things differently promotes from within and doesn't need to pay huge transfer fees to
compete.
Some fans have countered this reasoning (fairly) that without a present the future means
nothing, and that the future has as little guarantee as signing a £50million striker or a
£35million striker depending on which team you prefer laughing at the most.
There's a story about David Bentley.
I kid, I kid. I'm all out of Bentley stories. I could tell you my epic about Arturo Lupoli, his
secret agent dog and his layabout sidekick, but it's all a bit too similar to an episode of Scooby
Doo and I need to give it some work.
So, what's going on in the world of Arsenal?
For someone who has been described this season as being controlled by a kid on a Playstation, David
Luiz has taken all the flack on the chin, concentrated on his game and for me, has got better. It's
almost as if someone has had a word with him and has asked him to concentrate recently on the
defensive side of his game.
By Benjamin Leinwand and Chris AndersonPrior to the start of the 2011 season, Major League Soccer teamed up with the Castrol Index to
deliver a more statistically advanced version of the match day player ratings. According to the
creators, "the Castrol Index objectively analyses player performance, tracking every move on the
field and assessing whether it has a positive or negative impact on a team's ability to score or
concede a goal.
While it wasn't exactly backs to the wall for 90 minutes as some media reports are suggesting,
Tottenham had to show a great deal of resilience to come away with a draw from yesterday's
encounter at Anfield.
After the game, Assistant Manager Kevin Bond hailed a ‘different type of performance' as Spurs
took a valuable point from the match.
1. It's a strange one to take, I think if you had asked me before hand I would have said that it
was important Chelsea didn't lose the game. Saying that, to play well for the first ten minutes of
the second half and find ourselves 3-0 up was a bonus!. To throw it all away is tough to take.
2.
I 7-1 to be a Blackburn fan? No, it doesn't quite work, does it. One day we'll get to the promised
land of an 8 goal victory, and all the wonderful pun-based jokes this allows. For today, I think 7
will do. My thoughts as follows:
* We started brightly, and scored after only 2 minutes.
I was not happy after Villa Why? Cos minus 2 penalties and a fluke goal, we played average at
best. We rarely created any real goalscoring opportunities from open play. I am never over
enthused with Arsenal when we don't actually play Wengerball.
When we get those slick passing triangles going, opening up a host of chances.
Manchester United recently lost to Liverpool in a very closely contested match at Anfield. The last
goal by Kuyt, in my eyes, was easily stoppable if de Gea would have divede to smother the ball with
confidence instead of whatever ...

And I'm not talking about Beckham's 2-year $15 million contract.
I'm talking about Omar Gonzalez. Last month Omar pulled out of the national team training camp
for a very exciting loan move to Nurnberg. His very first day there he suffered a season ending
injury at the hands well, feet of his USMNT teammate Timmy Chandler.
The Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin was visibly shaken by the reaction of the home fans at the
Emirates last week when he took to the field in place of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and considering
that he was lacking in confidence before that he can't be very keen to wear the Arsenal colours
again. A few weeks [.
Wigan currently sit rock bottom of the Premiership, and the confidence on the forums reflects this.
There were quite a few comments about how we've been playing some of the best football in the
league recently, and despite our result against Man City, in which we were robbed (their words, not
mine), the Spurs team that were beaten 1-0 by Wigan last season couldn't break down the lesser
teams, and this season will be a very different prospect.
Daniel Agger is feeling great after Liverpool's back-to-back Cup wins against Manchester
opponents to knock City out of the Carling Cup and United out of the FA Cup but believes that there
is plenty of improvement needed ahead.
Agger has always been a vocal critic of the Reds' struggles in recent years and thus, it comes
as no surprise that despite scoring a brilliant headed goal to open the scoring in the 2-1 home
victory over United, he is not satisfied.
Having already qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics by winning Friday's game versus Costa
Rica, the USWNT's win over Canada in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament was the icing on the cake.
The Canadian side came into tonight's match with a lot of confidence, but when it came time to
perform, fell quite short.
Like a cross between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nicklas Bendtner, Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is very
fond of his own abilities. There were questions as to whether he would play in Ghana's African Cup
of Nations match against Mali after sustaining an injury in training on Thursday, but he did start
and scored off a free kick in his side's 2-0 win.
By 1970's Gooner Fabiansky Needs to improve his kicking. Other than that had a good game. Came out
to collect the high balls when he could and relieved the pressure that we all feel when crosses
come in. 6 Coquelin Improves with every game and plays with confidence. With Jenkinson still out I
think he will be a very able understudy to Sagna.

Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon remains a Union player.
A Union official confirmed Sunday that Mondragon is in camp with the Union and said the club
has not talked with Deportivo Cali, despite Colombian reports that Mondragon could sign with his
hometown club, Deportivo Cali.
Here we are on the verge of our 4th round FA Cup tie with Aston Villa, and yet I find
myself still thinking about the substitution of Oxlade-Chamberlin in last weeks 2-1 loss to
Manchester United.
With the way Wenger was talking it makes me wonder if he is getting his apologies, or should I
say his press conference story ready should we lose today against Alex Mc Leish's Aston Villa.
Kuyt gets the winner...Liverpool successfully knocked Manchester
United out of the FA Cup on Saturday in a 2-1 win at Anfield. The Reds can now boast getting the
better of both teams in Manchester in less than a week. A Dirk Kuyt winner grabbed Liverpool the
glory in a game where United had most of the possession.
A week is a long time in football. Seven days ago we were preparing for a league game against
Manchester United, a game from which we hoped to get points, primarily, and restore some confidence
after a couple of miserable results previously. Clearly that worked out well.
We've spent the last week poring over that game, the incidents, the manager's decision making
and everything else.
Likely starters
There's a trip to Bolton looming in midweek, where we'll continue our climb up the league table
in search of that Champions League spot. But first there's the matter of the FA Cup to deal with. A
small matter or a big matter? Depends on the individuals. Arsene Wenger loves a bit of this
competition but not over qualification to Europe's premier competition.
Aston Villa
Position 11th, 6-9-7 (27 points, -3 goal differential)
Away Record: 3-6-2, -1 goal differential

Back in action tomorrow (remember when we used to play matches on Saturday) as we square off
against Aston Villa in the FA Cup 4th round match.
Club captain Steven Gerrard has reiterated his confidence and belief in Liverpool manager Kenny
Dalglish, and although he acknowledges that the pressure is on at the moment, Gerrard has not doubt
that Dalglish is the right man to lead Liverpool forward. In an interview with ITV Sport, Gerrard
expressed his admiration for Dalglish's willingness to put his legendary status on the line:"It

Arsene Wenger has tried to minimize the damage to Andrei Arshavin's confidence by last weeks booing
by Arsenal fans when he was brought on against Man Utd, and he may have gone just a little
overboard when he said: "I love Arshavin as a man and as a player. "I don't think the fans were

We have all wondered about the situation regarding transfers now AVB is in charge. Reports were
that he had 100% say on all comings and goings at the club. Well today, in his press conference
ahead of the game tomorrow, AVB has confirmed that isn't the case.
We have been heavily linked with Genk's exciting winger Kevin De Bruyne for the last few seasons
and
things have come to a head this week with reports that a deal would be agreed between
the two clubs for him to sign for Chelsea and be loaned straight back to Genk to finish the Belgian
season.
Most of last night's headlines might have been about the U.S. men's national team's friendly in
Panama, but that was not the only place south of the border where an American was playing.
Lost amid the U.S. team's 1-0 win, Jonathan Bornstein made his season debut, starting and going
the distance in Tigres UANL's 1-0 first-leg loss to Chilean club Union Espanola in the Copa
Libertadores.
Watford away in the 4th round of the FA Cup and the mood in their forums suggests that the result
is a foregone conclusion and that it'll be a "nice" game to watch as the pressure is completely
off. Some fans are hoping we play a weakened side to give them a chance at going through. One fan
reckons that for the number of usual starting 11 players in the Spurs team will be equal to the
number of goals they lose by.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has refused to get carried away with suggestions that the
club won't qualify for the Champions League next season, pointing to the forthcoming return of
midfielder Jack Wilshere and right-back Bacary Sagna as a major boost.
The Gunners trail fourth-place Chelsea by five points and third-place Tottenham Hotspur by
another five, leaving Arsene Wenger's side with much work to do in the four months ahead.
A clearly angry Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has ruled out Carlos Tevez's move
to Italian giants AC Milan. Mubarak who did not mince his words during an interview with The
National in Abu Dhabi.
Mubarak is livid with the way Milan have conducted themselves the entire time and have
continually maintained that loaning him with the option of buying at the end of the season is not
an option.
Reserve coach Rodolfo Borrell believes Liverpool might be forced to adopt a more direct style of
play as they look to overcome a physical Blackburn side at the Academy on Tuesday.
Rovers have yet to win a reserve game so far in 2011-12, but they did prove a tough nut to crack
when the two sides shared the spoils in a goalless draw back in November.
The Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has been suffering from a massive loss of form since the
middle of last season, but it was being hoped that a sequence of starts for Morocco at the African
Cup of Nations may galvanise him to recapture some of his undoubted ability. But Morocco's opening
game ended in a [.
Sorry about the title, but I can't resist a good pun if possible. Misleading as it might be, I
must stress that I am not saying Johan Djourou deserves any credit for his performance against
Manchester United.
However, for all the criticism surrounding Arsene Wenger for his choice to remove Alex
Oxlade-Chamberlain just as he'd made our equaliser and was at the centre of everything good we were
doing, a rather more bold move by the boss has gone largely ignored: replacing the more experienced
Djourou, terrible as he was, for Premier League debutant Nico Yennaris, a move that proved more
successful than bringing on Andrey Arshavin later.
I'd hate to be Anrei Arshavin right now. Not even his own players have confidence in him. But
then again, with consistent lackluster performances, you really can't blame both the players and
the fans for wanting him out of the club.
Arsenal's latest defeat revealed a side of the players that not most people knew about.
Robin Van Persie is acting like a true Arsenal captain by issuing a rallying call to players and
fans alike by trying to instil confidence that there are still trophies possible for the Gunners
this season. Many Arsenal fans think that they are more likely to win at cash bingo games online
than to win [.
1. After the man that should have been sent off for a nasty stamp won and scored a match winning
penalty in injury time for Manchester City, you had to wonder whether today was going to be our
day. There had been plenty of talk of "revenge" from Arsenal players ahead of kick-off, in
reference to the 8-2 battering we dished out at Old Trafford, so we knew they would be up for this
game even more than usual.
U.S. Men's National Team head coach JURGEN KLINSMANN:
On Jermaine Jones and what went in to decision to make captain:
"It was certainly a difficult situation for Jermaine with the suspension in Germany. I spoke with
his coach and the club and we agreed it was beneficial to all of us to have him come in.
There's likely little to emerge in terms of highlights from yesterday's match on the Liverpool
end of things, the only action worth recounting in any way is the play of Craig Bellamy, who was
involved in nearly everything positive that Liverpool did, with Daniel Agger the only other squad
member worth mentioning for a few forward runs and a thirty-yard bullet that clipped the top of the
bar.
After Manchester United lost to the combined might of Blackburn and Newcastle shipping six goals in
the process, they were 'rewarded' with the selection of Chris Foy to referee the FA Cup tie at the
Council Estate.
The rest is history.
For the next match against Bolton, Peter Walton was 'randomly' selected by the PGMOB to officiate.
