My latest article is up over at Elephant Journal titled:
Buy Less, Live More: Retail Therapy For The Economically Recessed
I hope you enjoy reading it!
Ciao,
Chris
Leave it to the Dalai Lama to deliver just the message we need to navigate these troubled times.
Forget the Sunday paper, Walden Bello's new piece at Yes! magazine is something nice to read with a
warm cup of coffee.
As leaders of the G20 map out a new economic order, protesters are making it known that they don't
want it to be like the last one. Walden Bello outlines 11 principles of a deglobalized economy that
promotes equity and quality of life rather than growth and environmental destruction.
I've often thought about opening a cafe where everyone would be treated the way they treat people
in their everyday lives. If you are kind and compassionate, the service and food would be
fantastic. If you are normally mean and cranky, your experience may not be so great. I'd call it
the Karma Cafe (besides, Reciprocation Bar and Grill just doesn't roll off the tongue as well).
While there was to be no replay and no 33rd team, FIFA's announcement of top seeds in the World Cup
draw suggests France will receive some punishment for Thierry Henry's indiscretion against
Ireland.
Despite both sitting in the world's top ten, neither France nor Portugal will be seeded for the
draw, instead going into the European based pot four, with England the chief beneficiaries in pot
one.
