Good morning to you all, got a few things that I am working on here but below are some things out
there for all to read and comment about. A couple are possible deals, maybes that probably won't
amount to anything since its a couple players on trial with certain MLS clubs. One that I will
[...]
If you love statistics, as I do, then you must read Daniel Finkelstein's Fink Tank column in the
Times or on the TimesOnline website. Every week he and his team of geeks come up with some wacky
statistics to explain why your favourite Premiership team is in the shape they are. This week his
maths mates [.
So which team do you think will win Euro 2008? How about the dark horses? Which team will
underachieve and who will be the player of the tournament? Simply click on the comment link at the
foot of the post and tell us your predictions for Euro 2008 which we will then add to the [...]
Our first match of the season and already I feel it is a must win situation. It will be matches
against teams like Wigan, Stoke, West Brom and Hull that will set us up for the rest of the season.
If we cannot get it right against these teams then we will have no hope against [...]
The Black Cats could also complete a £6m (Daily Mirror) or £8m (Independent) deal for
West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand this week. BBC SPORT | Football | Gossip | Monday's gossip
column. Reports like this have started making me feel as though our new owners have taken West Ham
back to the days of being a selling [.
I saw this late last night and had to make a comment. Steve Goff had an interview with New England
Revolution striker Taylor Twellman who said he was upset that the league or the Revs turned down an
offer from English side Preston North End: "I want to go. It's perfect timing. It's the right club

I'm not going to lie- I last regularly watched the MLS in 2006, before and after the World Cup
in Germany, when myself and many other American soccer fans were thirsting for more sport to
watch. ESPN/ABC were giddy with successful ratings from the international competition and
began showing many of the domestic matches on the main channels.
The inaugural Bobby Moore Cup was played today, leaving me with some questions: Now that Carlton
Cole has managed to score a goal, can we call him 'in form'? Have we sunk to such depths as a
club that we might actually be considering signing Ben Thatcher? Is there an actual Bobby Moore
Cup? And since the game ended in [.
If you are any where in the region of East London today, and you listen out your window around
4:45pm you will hear one of two sounds - a groan of "here we go again!" or a great sigh
of relief. Yes folks it is the start of the season and Hammers fans around the country [...]
All signs seem to indicate that Anton Ferdinand is heading to the Northeast to play for Sunderland.
A move that I think is bad business by West Ham who seem anything but solid at the back, but the
board wants to thin the squad and I guess Ferdinand is part of that cull. Surprising news though
[...]
The sale of Anton Ferdinandto Sunderland was confirmed today by the club for an undisclosed fee
(rumours estimate his sale cost the Black Cats between £6-8 million). The club website reports
that Anton's move was "in the best interest of the club", something that I find hard to
believe unless they are speaking in purely [.
I spent last night down at the Boleyn ground, singing! Oh and watching the Hammers put in a pitiful
display of footballing skill. Mostly though I was singing. I was singing a new little ditty called
"You're going to get the sack in the morning." It was a catchy little tune, created on
the spot by [..
Originally I was going to comment on Alan Curbishley's comment in mid-August when he said in the
press to "judge me after the transfer window closes"... I think though that our poor
manager no longer has any control over who comes and goes from Upton Park, and personally I think
all of us Hammers supporters [.
Ok so the dust has settled and my anger has subsided (a bit anyhow) and I have come to the
conclusion, that life as a football supporter could be worse... we could be Newcastle! Sure we have
no left-back on our squad until at least January, and half the players we have are unfit and
unavailable. [...
As the BBC announces Steve McClaren will be a part of their Euro2008 coverage team. I'll just
let that sink in. Yes, it's that Steve McClaren. The failed English national team coach
who failed to take the team to Euro2008. He will now be providing "expert analysis"
on the game during a tournament he failed to go [.
Scottish referees are threatening to take industrial action if their demands for an increase in the
fees they receive per match is not met, potentially affecting the start of the new SPL season on
Saturday. The referees, currently paid £575 per game are looking for an increased fee of
£1,000 per match to put them on [.
So how did the Hammer do this summer? Lets take a look at their report card; Pre-season Friendly
Results: B West Ham Full Squad: B West Ham XI: B Transfer Market Departures: D Good business to get
anything for John Paintsil a player who came with great promise, but never got the chance to shine
in the Premiership.
Alan Curbishley is upset - the bookies have made him the favourite to get the sack! He does insist
that he has "the full backing of the club", but how many times have we heard that before?
Personally I think it will be the first eight to ten games of the season that determine the fate
[...]
Everybody has an opinion. Some are based on instinct, some based on feeling from the heart, like my
mate Lenny who insists that West Ham are going to finish fourth! Personally I base my educated
guesses on a little bit of instinct, mixed with some research and topped off by my hopes and
dreams. Yesterday The Sunday [.
From the Soccerblog.org; West Ham United manager Alan Curbishley has called on the club's fans to
stop booing trialist Ben Thatcher. "I didn't quite understand it," he said. "I
don't think George will be too far away so we're looking for some experienced cover and we took the
opportunity to give Ben half a game.
So tomorrow marks the return of Paul Ince, the most hated man in modern West Ham history - for the
kids out there who can't remember us Hammers dislike Mr Ince because once upon a time, not so long
ago, he played for us. That is until one day Man U came along and stole [...]
23.33 hrs McCartney's sale is apparently worth between £4.5-8 million. If it is £4.5 I
think we got robbed, if it is £8 million then OK I will admit that is good footballing
business! 23.28 hrs BREAKING NEWS Robinho won't be coming to West Ham... apparently he is signing
for Man City... 23.24 hrs [.
Aye aye all, it's Wednesday (if only just), so just time for a quick update. This week we have news
of another disastrous week of European football for the only Scottish team left in the Champions
League and the third managerial casualty of the season tries to make ends meet with his Giro. We
begin [.
